dd Nat has been doing work experience at the local animal rescue centre :)
she has fallen in love with a very timid and scared border collie who is about 3-4 yrs old.
we already have a border collie x rescue dog -scooby! we have had him for about 8 yrs now and we've been talking for a while about getting another one.
So yesterday me and dh sneaked up to the centre to see him and that was it we had to have him!! we took scooby up to meet him and they got on well, although scoobs just spent alot of the time finding all the tennis balls on the field! the staff were made-up and asked if he could come every night to clear the field for them:rotfl:
they did the home check last night and i'm going to pick him up in the next hour. only thing is we need to change his name as the centre calls him Jim! Nat is leaning towards Archie as a name, anyone got any name suggestions ??
I will post some photos of him tonight!

shaggy? or scrappy?
goes with the whoel scooby theme!

I like the Shaggy and Scrappy names too. I hope you'll post a photo of him when he arrives :)

Oh you must be soooo excited,:banana: looking forward to seeing the pictures

Jim is home now, but he's gone to the back of the shed and is hiding in there.
its beyond me how people can abuse a dog... :sad2:
hopefully in time Jim will feel safe and secure here.

good luck with your new family member :goodvibes - he may take a while to settle in as collie types are very sensitive - he's found a good home now.

Congrats on the new doggie. I am sure he will settle in fine within a few days. :wizard:

Big hugs and cuddles to Jim. Hope he settles in soon - and big Congrats to you on the new addition to your family!! Can't wait to see photos when he's feeling a bit better!!!! :goodvibes

Congratulations on your new furbaby :dogdance: I'm sure he'll soon start to feel secure. I'd also go for Scrappy or Shaggy.

Sorry no photos yet as he keeps going to the back of the shed and hiding! he really needs a bath poor thing, he really really stinks!!! its affecting my sinusis its that bad! I have bought a doggy deo spray but that doesnt have much effect! :rotfl:
still no name, dd says he doesnt look like a shaggy or scrappy!

Congrats on the new addition, hope he settles in eventually. I can't wait to see some photos:goodvibes

Hope things are going well with settling in the dog, looking forward to seeing the photos:thumbsup2

He's now called Archie! He settling down fine, he's had a bath although he could do with another 1 or 2 to get him back to black and white!
He mainly hides/stays in corners, only venturing out to the back garden to do 'his business' then he's back in the corner :confused3 I have noticed that he's scared of being in the garden.
Archie decided to find his voice at 2am this morning, whining and barking for no reason other than he wanted to play  I really think he's a puppy maybe about 18 months -2 yrs old.
Photos will be posted this weekend :)

sounds like he's so lucky to have found a loving home and with another dog for company too

my dad has two border collies and they are his old girls, Lady the younger of the two was from a home where she was mistreated and even after ten years of love and warmth some anxiety is still there, it is terrible what people do to animals i hope Archie feels secure enough to come out of the corners soon
