Were flying in a day (or 2) early, now what?

There really is not advantage to bidding early on PL. If you can wait you have atleast 2 options for getting to WDW.

  1. Book tickets now on CO for $300
  2. Wait for SWA fare sale later this summer and hope to find $99 tickets
  3. Lastly since $300 is what you would spend on CO you could always purchase SWA Rapid Reward tickets on Ebay for that same price just a few weeks before your vacation if none of the other options worked out. RR tickets are regularly sold on ebay and they have minimal restrictions and are fully changeable. The only thing needed to use a RR ticket is space on the plane. there are no restrictions on the number of RR tickets on any flight. If you want more info on this let me know.

  1. I like the number 1 option but I hope the price is there a month from now if I need to use that carrier.

I mostly like the number 2 option and think I will hold off for a few more tuesday before booking.

the number 4 is a little setchy for me since I would be worried that when we get there that the 4 of us would not have a seat on the same plane and the four of us are DW DS(5) DD(1)

But I like how you did the number thing but I'm going to scatch the number 3&4 . The way you listed them out somehow help my man brain. lol!

You make a reservation just like anyone else when you use a RR ticket. You don't just gamble and show up at the airport. You can call today and make a RR ressie. You don't turn in the voucher till you show up at the airport but it is confirmed reservation.

If you fly SWA regularly you may be better off just booking them at the current price and then getting a credit for the difference when they go on sale. SWA does not charge a change fee.
not very regularly. but i didn't know you could do this. do you have to be a frequent flyer with them to do this? SWA is a major carrier here where we live and would love to use them.
so maybe we should as a another option think about this way after about a month of pricing?

WOOOHOOO!!!! I have now something to shop for on eBay!!!

This sounds like a legit way to do this. Just by a rr on eBay call to make a reservation. and were set? any restrictions that we should be worried about? and are all RR on eBay what I'm looking for ,,or are there only certain ones that we could use..

Just did a search on eBay and you were right the price is about $300 which isn't anybetter than the Con flight price i seen. I would like you suggested use this as a thrid option.
Good info you have given me..thanks much!!

there should be no restrictions on the days you want to travel. There are NO Saturday night stay requirements. There are few black out dates but they are no where near your travel days. You can bid on them now on ebay. they sell for between $275 - $300. Just make sure to note the expiration date when you bid. I just sold one on ebay that had a expire date in July 2003.

The other good thing is if you decide you need to go back early or stay longer all you have to do is call SWA and change your ressie.

I used priceline for air tickets only about a month or two before the trip. We decided in Feb. that we would go in May, of last year. I put in a bid of $85 and got roundtrip from Elmira, NY to MCO. I couldn't believe it. We added that extra day on because we couldn't pick the times. I would do it that way again though. I really enjoyed that day of relaxation before we hit the parks. Once I'm there I feel like I have to get up early and go, go, go!
