We're finally here! - Live Trip Report

I loved your trip report! Thank you so much for sharing! It brought tears to my eyes several times and made me laugh too!!! I am glad you had a wonderful time. It was so nice what you did for Hannah too. I am sure she will never forget the kindness your family has shown her and her dad.

I know how you feel about coming home and then going back to work. I also understand your comment about it feeling unnatural to always be away from your kids with work and school commitments. I feel the same exact way! At least it helps us appreciate the time we DO get to be together. In 2008, we took a cross country road trip :car:with our 3 kids (then 3, 6, & 10) and everyone kept telling us we were nuts for wanting to spend 3 weeks driving to California with kids but we had the time of our life! And we always LOVE our Disney trips and pretty much anytime we get to be together as a family.

Anyway, the best cure for that returning from Disney blues is to start planning your next trip!!! I find even planning a non-Disney trip (where maybe we can incorporate Disney SOMEHOW:wizard:) eases the transition back to reality!

Thanks again for sharing your memories!!!:goodvibes

I love your report. You are a great writer. Your words are so descriptive that you don't even need pictures (although I do love the pics).

I have been trying to talk my husband into towing our camper to Fort Wilderness but the farthest we have ever towed is 4 hours away. Realistically how bad is the drive? We live in Washington, PA which is a hour south of Pittsburgh. Also how many days did you stay at the fort?

I'm very sorry it took me so long to respond; I must have missed the question. Thanks for the compliments, I love writing and it's good to have people enjoy it.

The furthest we'd towed prior to this trip was 90mi. I'd never gassed up with the camper connected nor been that far from home. The drive really isn't that bad. It's long, but that's expected and can be broken up. If you have a good sway-control system you'll save some wrinkles; after awhile we got used to the movement and learned to work with it. Also, double check your spare tires and pressures. We also replaced our AAA with Good Sam because AAA doesn't support RVers like GS does.

We stayed at the Fort 6 nights... man that went fast. Very well worth all the trouble; Camping at WDW doesn't have its own forum for nothing :) :surfweb:

Thanks so much for the response. BTW, we are involved with a camping group in Ohio that was started a few years ago on RV.net. We haven't participated much in the last couple years due to sport schedules but we plan on doing more this summer. It is called the Ohio Rally group. Here is a link to their website. www.ohiorally.com. They are very active on the RV.net boards. They are an awesome group of campers and are always looking for new people to expand their group. There is no cost to join.

You seem so nice and social I thought you might enjoy that group.
