I DID IT!!! We are booked into our very first WDW vacation for March of 2003!!!!
I'm Sooooooooo excited!!!!
Should I tell the kids?:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Congratulations :D ! Have a great time planning and dreaming about your trip! To me the planning and anticipation is so much fun.

Oh...about the kids....if it were me, I'd wait until the trip was alot closer before telling them. Depending on their ages, 6 months can seem like an eternity to them ;) , and they might just drive you nuts ;) !

Happy Planning-

Way to go Mom!

Wait awhile and tell them closer to the time - otherwise plan on several ways to keep them happy and excited as the time drags out.....

Mom20f2 I'd definately wait! I have two girls at home 27 and 18 and they have had a count down going since 150 days and we're not going until December. They call me everyday at work with the new number of days left. We're down to 95 now. You'd think they were 7 and 8, wouldn't you??? I can't imagine little ones knowing and waiting that long! So, I'd wait!

The boys are 11 and 4 and we will be celebrating the youngest 5th b-day at the Mouse House!!! We decided to stay at ASMO since they are both big Disney movie buffs (me and DH are too!) I'm going to wait a while to tell them...but I"M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Welcome!!!

Congratulations! I was thinking there's so much thru fall then the holidays, how will they ever contain themselves? But I also understand your excitement. I think by now my kids think I'm crazy.

Disney Dollars for the holidays, water bottles..? Autograph books, light-up figures - I am thinking of a great gift list for them between now and March!

Enjoy your planning and let us help in whatever way we can!

Congrats Mom2of2! And good luck keeping the secret from them!!

In 1999, I was graduating from seminary and my little sister was graduating from college, so Mom and Daddy planned a surprise vacation for us. They'd told us to hold the dates, but we both figured we were going to the beach since the timing matched up with when we usually went. Well, at Thanksgving Dinner, Daddy went into their bedroom and came out with 2 shoe boxes all wrapped up. Mom looked at him with "the look" and said, "I thought we were going to wait until at least Christmas." Daddy's response was that *he* couldn't wait any longer.

So we opened the boxes and each found a Disney character picture frame ~ the kind where the characters are holding the frame part that slides in and out of their hands as they peek around it ~ with a little piece of paper where the picture goes saying "We're looking forward to seeing *YOU* with your family at the Caribbean Beach Resort May 26-30." (My sister got Mickey characters and I got Pooh characters ~ reflecting our personal faves...I love Mickey to death, but I've always been a Pooh girl at heart.) It was really cool ~ so that's one possible suggestion of how to tell them when you're ready! Others may have other ideas. Incidentally, those frames now hold copied of the picture Mom took of us sitting at the Partner's Statue in front of the Castle from that trip!

Have an awesome Disney Day!!

I find the planning and anticipation of a WDW trip to be a fun and magical experience all to itself. enjoy the planning. Your boys (and you) will love the all stars. They are great themed hotels.

Watch the Boards and pick out some good dining and activity options, in order that you can make timely PSs and reservations.

Have a magical trip!
