We're booked for May!

Hello everyone. I've been lurking for awhile trying to learn as much as I can. I joined this morning beacuse we made our reservations at Fort Wilderness last night!! One week at the end of May/first of June!!

Does anyone have any tips/or tricks for first time Disney campers? We will be in a new Rockwood pop-up camper.

We have 2 kids, 13 (DD) and 9 (DS) and then it's me and my DW.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you booked for a partial hook up site, you may want to ask for the 1500 loop. It is closer to the Meadows Trading Post where the pool, an arcade and sing a long are located. Don't forget the bug spray and the makings for smores if that is what the kids like. Welcome to the boards and have a wonderful trip!

Great for you. We will be there for our 32nd Anniversary that week. Advice would be to continue to read the DISboards as much as possible before your trip since they are full of tips.

One thing I would do is to leave 1 day at the end of your stay to chill out and rest up for the trip home.

Take your bikes and don't forget helmets!! Go ahead and start making you a packing list.

some suggestions: clothes line, bungees cords, charcoal, matches/lighters, beach towels, bikes/skates/skooters, helmets, bug spray, sunscreen, tarps

Oh, you may want to do a dry run in the new camper for a weekend just to get the feel of things!!.

I still think a weekend jaunt is a good idea. The first time we went to FW, we couldn't use our first site and LEFT our sway bar at that site and did not realize it until we went to leave a week later!

Thank goodness that someone turned it in to lost and found. It's just little things like that, that you want to make sure only happen once.
