"We're basically here for the food..." A September 2016 TR**Updated 4/21/17

I, too, just read the whole TR in one sitting. Loved it!

We're headed there this Sept. for two weeks but will probably only do 5 days in the parks.

I've taken some notes on food to try as my girls and I are also gf.

Hi @FrenchGirl :welcome:

2 weeks sounds like a dream! I bet that you guys will have a totally MAGICAL time!!

Eating on a Gluten Free diet at Walt Disney World is easier than one might think. They are very helpful in assisting you with letting you know what foods are safe. One of my most favorite web pages to go to for a lot of my WDW GF questions is Allergy Free Mouse: http://www.allergyfreemouse.com/dining/gluten-free-at-walt-disney-world-parks/ TONS of great information!! Please let me know if you have any questions too, and I MIGHT know the answer !!:flower1:

Loving your report!! Where did you get the green Epcot shirts?? Love those!

Thank you so much for reading about our vacation! It was a great trip! I ordered the Green Epcot shirts online from RetroCot. The guy was super easy to work with!

Happy Sunday! Its 79 degrees and sunny in Virginia today, while New England and New York are getting dumped on with 12 inches of snow! We actually worked a bit in the yard today in shorts and tank tops! CRAZY I know because since its only February 12th, I'm pretty sure that we are going to have a lot more cold weather come our way this winter.

Anyway, back to the trip report...

I last left off as we were getting ready to eat dinner at Be Our Guest. This was our 3rd year in a row eating dinner in the Beast's castle... we REALLY do enjoy it each and every time! The food its always hot, fresh, and delicious.

We have only ever eaten in the West Wing, and the Ballroom. We have not experienced eating in the Music Box Room.

Again, we were seated in the Ballroom, right in the middle of the restaurant!

The bad part of eating at Be Our Guest, is that it is virtually impossible to get a good picture because the lighting is so dim.

Here is Ethan who is ready for his food to arrive!

The server brought us some warm rolls, and I even was given my very own warm Gluten Free Rolls! Yay! Kevin, myself and my dad also all had a nice glass of Merlot. We were sad that this was our last dinner at WDW, but we were happy that we were at one of our favorite restaurants!

Kevin ordered the grilled steak, Ethan ordered the grilled chicken breast which came with wild rice, & my dad ordered the Ratatouille which he absolutely LOVED!

I spoke with the server about my gluten allergy, and they were super about accommodating me while telling me what was gluten free and safe to eat. I ordered the fish of the day, which was Salmon... MY FAVORITE! It came with potatoes and green beans. Sorry for the dark picture!

You can see the Allergy flag in the top of my salmon which makes me feel better that they take the extra time to ensure that I don't get sick.

It. Was. DELICIOUS. I mean, really! I highly recommend Be Our Guest for dinner at the Magic Kingdom. And I especially recommend Be Our Guest if you have a food allergy because they really were terrific about letting me know what I could and could not eat.

Another reason that we are obsessed with Be Our Guest, is that after dinner your server will roll out a literal Dessert Cart filled with Cupcakes and Pastries! I seriously hear Angels Singing every single time that they bring the desserts out to the table.

We all ordered coffee, and chose our desserts. I ordered the Gluten Free Lemon Raspberry Creampuff. Let me just tell you.... YUM!

After dinner, the server told us that the Beast was waiting for us in his study. ANOTHER reason to have dinner at Be Our Guest is that the Beast only appears during dinner, not breakfast or lunch.

We made our way to the study, and had our private photo shoot with the host.

We were all full and happy!

We really didn't have any other plans for our last night, other than we wanted to make sure that we watched Wishes. We had a couple of hours, so we looked on the My Disney Experience App and saw almost everything in Tomorrowland had little to no wait.

We took our time walking to Tomorowland, and finally ended up at Buzz Lightyear. I rode with my dad, and Kevin rode with Ethan this time.

I don't remember who won, but I'm sure it wasn't me, haha!!

We got off and rode it again! Literally, there was no line! This ride is so much fun, we were having a BLAST! See what I did there?

The Peoplemover had no wait, so we headed there because.... why not!

We have this same picture of Ethan for the past 6 years laying on the walkway that leads up to the Peoplemover. I have NO idea how this even started, but one day I'm going to put them all in an album for him because its so ridiculous, yet its now tradition!

The Peoplemover is the perfect ride at night and when it ended, we got right back on again for a 2nd time in a row!

Stay tuned for next time when we watch Wishes and have to say goodbye to Magic Kingdom.

Hi there! I'm joining in late, but I've caught up:coffee:. What a great trip! I LOVE those shirts!! I would love to get my boyfriend to wear one on our next trip. :scratchin Anyway, I'm going over to read your PTR now for September! We're going in August and I am soooo excited!!! :cool1:

I've only just noticed this TR forum but just wanted to say that I really enjoyed reading about your trip! We're heading to Disney for the first time in a few weeks and it's great to read about other families' trips. I'm also gluten sensitive so am very happy to hear that there are many yummy GF options throughout the parks.

I love this. We have the tradition of getting a picture of the girls in front of Rapunzel's bathrooms. It kind of just happened. And I think that is what I love t the most about it! In fact, we measure there growth based on those photos!

Don't the CM get angry that he is laying on the walkway?

The last meal at Disney is so sad, but at least you have another trip planned to look forward to. Smart move going back to POR, although I've gotten rather partial to POFQ.

We've only eaten lunch at BOG. Definitely going to have to try dinner one of these trips. Did you have to wait long to meet the Beast?

I love traditional pictures! Ethan is such a good sport!

:welcome: Thank you so much for reading along about our vacation. I bet that you could get your boyfriend to wear a shirt if you could find one with his favorite character on it!! :rolleyes1

Ohhh Rapunzel's Bathroom pictures sounds like a great tradition!

I'm sure the CM's might look at us a crazy, but we are so fast about it that they don't have time to yell! :rolleyes1

I too LOVE POFQ! Its my 2nd favorite moderate, only to CSR! Its been so many years since we have been to POR that we are going again to try a different section - The Alligator Bayou.

We got lucky, and we were able to walk straight into the study to meet the beast. I think that out of 3 times eating dinner at Be Our Guest, that we have only had to wait 1 time. I hope that you get to eat dinner there on your next WDW vacation. Its a wonderful menu, and an amazing dessert cart! :flower1:

Picking up where I left off last, we left the People Mover after riding it for a few times in a row, and decided to find a spot to watch Wishes. Normally one of us (usually me) stakes out a spot and holds it for our group, but this time nobody felt like sitting by themselves for 2 hours holding a piece of 'curb'.

When we got to the hub area, it was full, and all of Main Street was already jam-packed with people but we were able to find a nice little spot in front of Crystal Palace against the fence.

20160909_205832.jpg

There was nobody over here at all, so we were able to stretch out on the ground.

Watching Wishes is always so emotional for me. Especially on our last night... its always so bittersweet to listen to the beautiful music and watch the majestic fireworks. I love watching the castle change colors!

20160909_210103.jpg

After Wishes was over, we took our time walking down Main Street by going in every single shop. We didn't buy anything, but its always fun to look!

The line for the bus back to Caribbean Beach Resort was crazy, so we had to wait our turn for several busses to fill up and wait for the next one. When we got back to the resort, we fell asleep right away because we were absolutely EXHAUSTED.

Continued in the next post when we sleep in late and hang out by the pool for a couple hours!

Wishes gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME! I'm hoping the new show will have the same emotional effect!

Main Street at night is the best. I love strolling and just looking around! Such a great atmosphere!

Thank you so much! I actually got it in Magic Kingdom in Big Top Treats gift shop 2 years ago. I think that the sliders are sold in most shops now on property and I know you can buy them online too. I hope this helps!:flower1:
Thank you ! this helps tremendously. I wasn't sure what to call them

Yes exactly! Main Street at night AND Wishes ... just so magical!
