Hi everyone,

We returned from DLP on Wednesday night after the BEST TRIP EVER! The park looked better since all the refurbs and the weather was great!

HIGHS
Hotel New York - we got the king size room we wanted and have never been more comfortable in a Disney Hotel. There's no going back now!!

Fastpasses - thank goodness for FPs this trip - it was fairly busy all week!

Dreams - WOW - need I say more?? And lovely that no-one really rushes you out of the park after and all the shops stay open. We didn't leave the park until gone 11pm each night.

Ride photo magnets - we discovered the ride photo magnets for 12E each and bought a couple which now look fab on our fridge!! I feel this could be the start of a collection :goodvibes

LOWS
Crowds - it was generally more busy than we are used to going out of season but we survived thanks to the parks opening nice and late and the use of fastpasses.

Toilets - the ladies toilets smell sooooo bad. They only ones that didn't take my breath away were the ones next to City Hall - all the others really do need you to don professional breathing equipment before entering. They were generally cleaner than usual though - just the smell!!:crazy2: DBF said the mens were not smelly.

Missing the parade - partly our own fault as we left watching the parade until our last opportunity which was the Tuesday when it was called off "due to unforeseen circumstances" so we missed it ! Oh well - an excuse to go back I suppose :goodvibes

Rude CMs - we had a couple of rude CM experiences. One on the Flying Carpets where a CM tried to ram a family of three onto our carpet even though there was plenty of room elsewhere and no-one else waiting to board. She didn't give us the opportunity of moving into the same row (we were in a row each as my boyf is v tall and we simply don't fit into the same row together anyway due to lack of legroom). There was just not enough room for 5 people so we felt that we had to just get out and leave it. Not v happy after a 20 min queue and already waiting out one turn as there wasn't enough room!! We tried explaining but she wasn't listening. Don't know what happened in the end, but the family of three didn't end up sitting in that particular carpet anyway - very annoying! :crowded:

Also had a bit of an annoying experience at the main ticket gates. There was a lovely little girl in front of us one day who asked me how to do the ticket machine so I quickly showed her but before she could give it a go she had had her ticket ripped out of her hand and was being pushed through the barrier by the CM. I then had the same treatment but DBF wouldn't stand for it and held tight to his when she tried to grab it off him and said "I think I can manage!". I could understand if there was a big queue or something to get in but there wasn't and it just felt a bit rude. I felt sorry for the little girl who just looked really confused by the whole situation. "Welcome to Disneyland" I thought!!

Small things really as lows - it was such an amazing trip - our best ever! We didn't let anyone spoil it for us, but I just wish the CMs would be a bit less brusque sometimes. It's not very Disney-like in my opinion! We're all nice people! :confused3

Full details to come in my trip report! Stay tuned :happytv:

Welcome back :goodvibes Glad you liked the HNY and had a great trip.

Look forward to the trip report :)

Sounds like a great trip. :cool1:

We've pretty much alway had our tickets taken and put through the barrier by a CM but they've always been polite. That being said, we've generally always had a buggy but even if some of us go through the main bit, it's been the same.

Trip sounds fab though, I'm going to have to stop reading these, getting all excited and almost told the kids!

Yes I agree with you there - this has happened to us lots before too and usually done in a very polite smiley way but that's not the way it happened on this occasion, which is why we noticed it so much. Think she must just have been having a bad day! :confused3

Hehe it was indeed a fab trip though!! Think it must be so hard to keep it a secret from your kids! Good going!! Hang in there :goodvibes

Sounds like you had a nice trip. Please do post some photos of your ride photo magnets I'd love to see them.

Sounds like an amazing trip and I think you must be right about the CM having a bad day :rotfl2:. Looking forward to the TR.

As requested - photos of our ride photo magnets. They are somwhere between A6 and A5 in size I would say:

They look great - worth knowing about. Do you always do the relevant pose for the ride?! :teeth:

I don't know if you've ever seen it (on YouTube now), but the Rock 'N Roller Coaster one immediately made me think of Stacy in the old WDW Top 7 Must Sees!!!

Haha - we try and do different poses each time based on the theme of the ride :rotfl:. Sometimes we co-ordinate beforehand and sometimes we like to surprise eachother :lmao:. I'm going to try and find that on youtube!!

Welcome back, sounds like you had a fab trip:goodvibes

Welcome back :wave2:

Love the idea of fridge magnets (well, I would, look at my ticker!) and your Space Mountain one is brilliant! :thumbsup2

popcorn::Tuning in awaiting that trip report since a visit to DLP is on the planning books as part of a trip to the UK later next year. Have only just started to browse this board to see the pro's and con's and differences. Am interested now to see how we find it as there seems to be some pretty strong opinions out there. We just got back from Japan and a visit to Tokyo Disney-had a great time and enjoyed the differences between there and the American parks. Tokyo DisneySea was wonderful. If we stop off in Hong Kong on the way across we might even fit 2 parks in one trip-if so, after the pushiness of the locals in Hong Kong (apparently) we might find DLP refreshing different!
