Well we're back from Disney. We had a great time this year.We stayed at AllStar Music in the Broadway section and I thought it was the best looking section in the whole resort. At night, the red neon lights illuminated everything around it and it gave it such an atmosphere to be in.Peaceful and nice. Our room faced the back area, near the parking lot and the woods.I requested the back and it was just as I wanted.Very quiet, less people traffic and all round perfect. We swam in the piano pool each time except for the first swim,we were in the guitar pool for a while.Too crowded and too noisy.Piano pool was less of both most of the time.Everynight except for Sunday,we ate at the Intermission Food Court and loved every meal. One night I had the roasted turkey with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans and it was excellent.Another night I had the rotisserie chicken with the same two sides, again excellent.Another night I had the pork roast with same two sides, once again, excellent. Can you tell I love mashed potatoes and green beans? All the meats were perfect.ONe night I got a good ole hot dog basket with fries, wasn't too hungry that night.Oh yeah I almost forgot the chicken quesadilla with fries,it was great too.One night was just a salad night. My wife had several things as well. But she seemed to favor the philly cheesesteak sandwich with fries. She got that three times!AS for the girls, you know how kids are, grilled cheese, chicken strips, hot dog, etc. All meals there were excellent, including the one breakfast that we had there. We ate breakfast in our room except on Friday and Saturday mornings.Catching the buses was fine as well, even though they get crowded sometimes and we even had to stand on a couple of routes the whole time, but it beats driving the car and having to park and walk a long ways sometimes.Go to my next post for more info.

glad to hear you liked the food - we will be there in 9 days. off to read the next day

Thanks for the report. Did you think Broadway was a far walk to the food court after walking around in the parks all day??? Did you notice how early the food court opened for coffee in the AM?? I can't wait to stay there next month. We requested the Jazz building. What did you think of that area? Thanks!

We stayed at the Sports resort last year,in the same location as where Broadway is located,in the Tennis section. The walk was about the same.We didn't mind the longer walk though, because the walks were only momentarily,it is in the room is where I wanted quietness and less foot traffic past my room and I got just what I wanted.I prefer to sacrifice the convienience of closer buildings for quiet and peaceful areas in the back, facing the woods. The Jazz section is the next section down from the Calypso sections, which line the two sides of the guitar pool where most people go.I preferred the piano pool, less crowded and less noisy.(Don't get me wrong,I'm not an old fogey,I am only 42 yrs old,but I have reached a point in my life that I prefer more quiet places that loud and chaotic places.Been a musician all my life,so maybe that is what we musicians want as we grow older). But anyway, the Jazz section is nice, there are huge drum sets at each building with two huge silhouettes of a trumpet player outlined in neon, which changes colors about every 5 seconds.BUt the Jazz section is still facing where a lot of noise and people will be walking. The back sides of Jazz would be a little more quiet, seeing how most people will be on the courtyard side going to the pools and to Melody Hall.Check out the nice little rose garden area between the Jazz bldgs and the water fountain there.Anyway,I found the Broadway section to be my favorite section in the whole complex.TIP:If yall drive around the complex and look around a little before you go check in,you can get an idea of Broadway and Jazz and then ask for which section you want at the check in counter. After your trip, post something and let me know which yall picked and how yall liked it.

Hi Darel,

Glad to see you had a nice trip. We are still planning on going in 9 days, but we'll see what's happening with the airlines by then. I'm really glad to hear that you liked your stay at ASMu. Did you get a chance to see the statue of Ariel?? Where was she located?

Ariel is located right next to the Piano pool. It's a statue of her,Flounder and Sebastian. We did enjoy the Music resort very much.Plan a lot of your meals for the Intermission Food Court. The food is great!WE ate there every night except for Sunday when we were at Epcot.THat's how good it was.

Thanks for the quick response Darel. We had planned to eat there for dinner & lunch quite often throughout our stay. Like you, I am on a budget so "cheap eats" is a priority. Right now I'm still trying to decide whether or not to go next week or to postpone it for later. The hardest part for me is that my DD is only 3 and won't be able to understand why we aren't able to go right now. I really don't know what to do. Safety is a priority, but there are no guarnatees of tomorrow either.

Thanks Darel for the response. Maybe we will check out the buildings before we check in. I am a light sleeper and so maybe the buildings in the back would be quieter but I know my daughter would prefer to be close to the pools. Oh well, I guess we will see what is available when we check in.

You're right, all kids want is to be close to the pool, but from the backside of Broadway,it is such a short walk to the piano pool that convienence should not be a factor, but quietness in the room should.(Of course that's my preference). My girls are 7 and 10,and when we checked in,we had not looked at the grounds but I already knew that I wanted the back area,so my girls never said anything.Of course there is never any way to know, but it could be quiet in the middle court area close to the main pool and then again it may not be.I am not here trying to tell you what to do either, but if anything I mentioned about myself slightly applies to you, such as preferred quietness, then I would, without a doubt, ask for the backside of Broadway facing the woods and parking lot.AS for delaying your trip,do you already have reservations? Are you within your time frame to cancel or change your time of arrival? Are you flying down or driving? If flying, yes,I think I would change arrival time if you can,due to the air travel needing to get back on schedule again. If driving,I'd say go on and have a great time.I think we,as Americans, grieve and have grieved for this terrible tragedy in different ways.If by chance you may feel a little guilty for going on a Disney trip when so many have lost their lives,I would say, very sincerely, spend some time alone in prayer with God and grieve in private for this tragedy. This may help to relieve the sadness that so many of us feel for this.I know,I have felt so numb since it happened. But I am feeling better today. Please, let me know what your decisions are about your trip.I am excited for yall, and I wish I could go with yall.Have a great time.

Thank you Darel for your reply. It was another poster who was trying to decide whether to make the trip right new. My plans are for the end of October so I am praying everything will be much better by then. It seems trivial right now trying to decide a building to stay in but anything to take my mind off Tuesday's tragic events is helping. Thanks for your concern and
I will post about our stay when I return.
