We're Back from DL...Great Surprises!!

We're back from our 4 day trip to DL! The first day was awesome!!! We arrived on Tuesday at about 1pm at the PP hotel. We got up to the counter to check in and all was going pretty fast. We were pleasantly surprised that we had paid for a standard room and automatically got upgraded without asking to a park view room on the 14th floor! They went to go and get our room keys, and we waited, and waited, and waited. I was starting to get a little annoyed, when all of a sudden our cast member Jake came out with several other people, balloons, and a bunch of stuff in their hands...We were the Big Kahuna Family of the Day!!!! We got our picture taken in front of the Goofy Surfboard in the lobby, a picture frame to put it in, souvenir pins that you can't buy anywhere, turn down service at night with chocolate coins on the bed, Mickey cookies in our room the first night, pictures signed by the characters and flower lei's. It was a great start to our trip. The rest of trip went very well. We were able to either walk on or had a short wait for rides...until Friday.

Can't wait to read your trip report, it sounds like you had an awesome time. Congrats on being the big kahuna family, it must have been a little wierd to see them charging at you with balloons

I just got back from DL and it was awesome seeing the pirates setup! But gosh it was crowded! Noticed that on the last run of pirates for the night they added more fog and slowed the ride WAY down. I could actually hear everything the pirates were saying! Also saw Mary Poppins!!

Looks like the luck has been running with DisBoard readers! We arrived on Saturday afternoon (premiere day...), and were upgraded to a Suite with Conceirge Room access for our whole trip! It was such a blessing - my DH hasn't had to worry so much about the budget, because we're able to do breakfast and dinner and snacks from the lounge...

We love Paradise Pier!

That is so great..We go on the 13th of next month..and I doubt anything like that will happen..I tried to upgrade to a suite after booking..and was told everything has been booked solid..in all 3 resort hotels.. during our entire stay..
