We're back & better than ever - Complete!

That Namiamo dessert doesn't look like the Naniamo bars we're used to but I would try it in a minute! Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
I highly recommend it! It certainly doesn't look like a traditional nanaimo bar (based on google image results), but from what I can tell, the flavors were spot on and it was delicious! :goodvibes

Those desserts are on our list, now! They look so much more exciting than the maple creme brulee! DD will be all over that lemon short cake. The duck crepe looks great, too. I love prosciutto on my salad!

Ridiculous about not allowing you to substitute anything other than potatoes for potatoes. How hard is it to steam or saute some vegetables? I hope you write a letter to Disney about it? Still lovin' your reviews!
I hope you enjoy both of those desserts! The lemon pound cake is an especially good choice for someone who doesn't have a sweet tooth.

And I hadn't thought about writing a letter to Disney, but maybe I will. There are probably lots of other people who would also appreciate a lighter side option (even if it's just a baked potato, plain broccoli, or something along those lines). :)

interesting to see a LE Cellier lunch mennu rather than dinner. :)
Glad you thought the review was interesting! I have to say, when you consider the great options available at lunch (duck confit crêpe, mushroom filet mignon, a nanaimo bar that actually seems better than its dinner counterpart, etc), dinner seems like a complete waste of money/credits. Lunch is the way to go (for now). :thumbsup2

Really? they wouldn't let you sub anything for the fries/potatoes? That's crazy and unnecessary since that shouldn't be an issue - especially for this place that is trying to distinguish themselves as a Signature. Sorry about that...at least dessert looks amazing!
Agreed - it was such an unexpected issue. I'm very sad that the incident happened - it's the only thing that kept the entire review from being glowing. It's okay though - next time I'll pick a different entree, and everything will be fine. :goodvibes

One bad experience has really put me off from Yachtsman. But you are doing your best to try to reel me back in, aren't you?
Trust me - Yachtsman is trying even harder than I am. They're the ones who are coming up with creative new dishes and then executing them perfectly. I'm just sharing my thoughts about them. ;)

Ugh, I am so torn about the Yachtsman! It was our favorite meal last trip. We have a reservation our first night but that is also the last night before they close for rennovations. I have been debating changing to Flying Fish as I am not srue what it will be like that night. I'd hate for them to be out of things. But your review has cemented why I want to go there ... and DS loves lamb! (Course who knows what the August menu will be?!)

What to do, what to do ....
Good luck with your decision! Honestly, I prefer Yachtsman over Flying Fish (even though I'm a seafood person), so I'd probably take my chances at Yachtsman. But be warned that the lamb dish may be off the menu by then (even without the impending refurbishment, Yachtsman seems to change up its non-beef entrees quite often).

:cool1: Lobster at the YM, you made my day! Hope they have it on Friday night.
I hope I get to read about the surf and turf in your current dining review. ;)

I was so sad to find out that they'll be closed due to rennovations during our visit since it was one of the top on my list to go back. :( We had dinner two years ago and really enjoyed the experience but looks like we will have to wait for another visit.

However, I really enjoyed reading your review! I would have loved the halibut and gelato!
Aw, I'm sorry to hear that the closure will prevent you from returning. At least there are still a ton of options to choose from, and hopefully you'll have a meal somewhere else that's just as good.

We have reservations he same night as you and must confess I'm nervous about the food. Hoping the menu won't be limited since they'll be trying to use up their supplies!!
Based on what I know about Yachtsman, I don't think they would serve an inferior menu to use up supplies. But the menu might still be different in a few months - good luck with your choice!

Great Yachtsman review! That lamb dish looks like a work of art. Oooooh, we can't wait to try it for the first time! Those mushrooms look amazing, but I think I also wouldn't prefer them with Halibut.
Everything in that meal was incredible - it amazes me how much Yachtsman excels with its non-beef options. :thumbsup2

The halibut and mushrooms (even if it wasn't the intended side item) look AMAZING. I kinda want to eat my computer screen. :rotfl2:

I'm adding that to my admittedly long list of TSes I'd go to if I had unlimited funds. Someday... :rotfl:
I hope Yachtsman can eventually be crossed off your list! The mushrooms were really good, but I still want to know what that halibut dish would've been like.

Thank you so much for the information about Tutto Gusto and the gelato from Italy. Added to the list :) We have also booked to go to Yachtsmans and I'm really impressed with your review. Looks better value for two credits than Le Cellier :goodvibes:
Yep - I'd definitely recommend Yachtsman over Le Cellier if you want an incredible, signature-level dinner. :cloud9:

Sounds like a great meal at the Yachtsman. Who says you shouldn't order seafood at a steakhouse ;)

Now I am second guessing our decision not to dine there in August...hmm, decisions, decisions.
Good luck with your choice! I'd certainly recommend it, but I'm sure you'll have great meals at the restaurants already in your plans. :)

I'm anxious to try the Yachtsman. The halibut looks amazing!
I'm sure you would love Yachtsman! Even if the halibut isn't on the menu, I have faith that their replacement dish would be amazing.

Great reviews! I'm trying the Yachtsman for the first time in August, is it wrong that I'm most excited for the bread?? :cool1:
I don't think there's anything too wrong with that. After all, steak is the thing that Yachtsman that we're always least excited for.

OMG!!! that Yachtsman meal looked DEVINE!!!!!

we're eating there on our 2nd night of our trip - our first time staying at the BC AND eating at the Yachtsman!!!

I'm so excited about doing both that I can hardly stand it!!!

and to see a surf n' turf on the menu....my boys are going to DIE!!!

great reviews!!!

:thumbsup2
Hope you have a great meal! Even if the surf and turf is no longer on the menu (and it might not be :(), I'm sure you'll still really enjoy Yachtsman. :goodvibes

THIS post made me re-add LTT to our plan for December. Come hell or high water, we WILL make it there.... YUM! I will order this exact meal :)
Enjoy! It was definitely worth it. :cloud9:

Great news to report back that YM did have the surf and turf and it was the best ever! Will put full details in my report when I get to that part :)

Yay! Can't wait to read the full Yachtsman review (but I'm glad to know it wasn't a disappointment). :goodvibes

The entire issue of substitutions at LC is ridiculous. "That's what we do"? As you said, that's not the case at Yachtsman. Bizarre. Heaven forbid someone wants something a little lighter to accompany a hunk of beef!

Wow! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the rooms @ YC!!!!
This was my DH's fav. hotel that we visited. Now that I see how perfect & light the rooms are it might be mine now too!!! We'll be staying @ SSR, our 1st DLX this year & we are THRILLED about it! I will keep YC in mind for a future visit to WDW.& the view is lovely!!

Soon, it was time for dessert. We had to decide between Beaches and Cream or picking something at Yachtsman.

Here was the dessert menu:

IMG_3021.jpg

Nothing here had changed since our March visit. I was tempted to do Beaches and Cream instead, but my mom still wanted some salted caramel gelato. Upon further reflection, I felt like having the strawberry gelato.

So we decided to order the Yachtsman Sundae, but we got salted caramel gelato instead of vanilla (our sundae was strawberry, salted caramel, and chocolate). :)

IMG_3022.jpg

It was as delicious as it looks - the gelati were all smooth and flavorful, with the strawberry being my favorite of the bunch. Plus, the amarena cherries were wonderful. This definitely satisfied my craving for a sundae.

IMG_3023.jpg

My mom also had a cappuccino, while I enjoyed a vanilla rooibos tea.

Once again, Yachtsman delivered a fabulous meal. The appetizers were both fresh and delicious, the halibut was perfect, and even the lamb dish was delightful and innovative. Plus, we had good service as usual, and I appreciate how Yachtsman is so willing to customize and modify dishes. :) Overall, Yachtsman is easily in my top 2 signatures (along with Artist Point), which is saying something since I'm not a fan of Yachtsman for their steak. :cloud9:

That Gelato looks amazing! I had the ras,van & chocolate from Citico's & thought I was being boring when I ordered it, until I tasted it. It was divine. The giant banana chocolate thing my DH had was blown away be the homemade gelato. THE CARMEL & STRAWBERRY LOOKS AWESOME!!!

Glad you posted about the Epcot Gelato as well. I'm sure it's not as good as the signatures, even though it looks pretty darn good!! & my DS LOVES mango!

Agreed - it was a rather bizarre issue that ended up marring an otherwise great meal.

Hope you get to try Yacht Club soon! It's a lovely hotel - the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, but you're a stone's throw away from the 'fun' at Boardwalk, Beach Club, and Stormalong Bay. :)

I'm sure the gelato at Citricos was amazing (we had the gelato trio there, but the flavors were different: raspberry, mocha, and almond). It's nice to see gelato at more and more places in WDW - even Art of Animation will be serving up a few flavors! :thumbsup2

Loved reading your reviews!
Thanks for reading! More are on the way.

After our lunch at Le Cellier, we spent some time exploring World Showcase. While in Morocco, we decided to get one of our favorite drinks - Moroccan mint tea. Because it was a hot day, we opted for the iced version. :cloud9:

IMG_3043.jpg

Soon enough, we ended up at Tutto Gusto again. I was excited to give this place another try (and make some safer choices ).

My mom wanted to try the mixed olives ($5) and the carciofi (artichokes - $9). Honestly, I would've never chosen these items simply because of the high markup on them, but at least everything was fresh and tasty. I love the use of olive oil and sea salt on the various plates.

IMG_3046.jpg

IMG_3044.jpg

Next up was our cheese trio - this time we got robiola, gorgonzola, and burrata. The robiola was sharper than I expected, and I didn't touch the gorgonzola but my mom loved it. The bread was very firm and chewy again.

IMG_3047.jpg

Not surprisingly, the burrata was the star for both of us. It was so incredibly creamy on the inside, and perfectly paired with olive oil, sea salt, and basil.

It looks like mozzarella on the outside...

IMG_3045.jpg

But the inside is a mixture of mozzarella and cream. :thumbsup2

IMG_3048.jpg

Finally, dessert. Most of the desserts here seem typical of Italian restaurants (tiramisu, cannoli, assorted biscuits, etc), but one menu item stood out - the torta di nocciole cortemilia. This was a hazelnut polenta cake with nutella cream. I just loved how the texture of the cake was unexpectedly crunchy - it matched well with the nutty flavor. The cream on top added a soft textural contrast. Overall, this was a great, unique dessert. :goodvibes

Overall, Tutto Gusto really hit the spot. It's a wonderful new addition to Epcot, and I can't wait to come back, order some meats and cheeses, and (maybe) have that hazelnut polenta cake again.

You take the best pictures! You even manage to make tea look good....and I hate tea! :rotfl2:

Lovely reviews!

Tutto Gusto is at the top of my list for somewhere to sit and enjoy a few small plates and a glass of wine. It seems like a nice place to sit, relax, with a drink and a snack.. Since I will be at WDW for F&W, I am hoping this is the place fr a nice rest and nosh.

Thanks for both of your reviews of Tutto Gusto!

Thanks for reading, and I'm glad you're enjoying the reviews! I'm sure you'll really enjoy Tutto Gusto for some small plates and wine. :thumbsup2

Oh, that burrata looks divine.

But the markup is a bit of a turnoff for me. I mean, I know it's Disney...but $9 for three artichokes? And I do love artichokes!

That cake looks really pretty and interesting, too. Plus hey, it has nutella in it. :)

I had no idea you went back but I am so glad that you did! Your TG reviews have me very excited, love the look of that cheese and the artichokes YUM! LTT salad looks great too...maybe we can score a walk in this Fall.

Yep - a lot of the dishes at Tutto Gusto are quite expensive. You just have to know what to get. ;) $14 for three cheeses is a decent value, IMO, since the quality of the cheese is high. :thumbsup2

I'm sure you'd really like Tutto Gusto and the LTT colony salad! Looking forward to reading your next set of reviews, whenever they are. :goodvibes

Nice reviews! I can't believe you couldn't get some sort of salad at LC!

Although the dessert looks yummy, a Nanaimo bar is not a Nanaimo bar if it doesn't have the nice thick yellow custard/icing layer! :sad2: That is my favourite part! :dance3:

Thanks for the info about a Nanaimo bar! All I know about Nanaimo bars is what I could find on google. The Le Cellier version was really good, but the creamy white layer definitely tasted more like vanilla than custard.

The menu description included quotations around "Nanaimo", so I have a feeling that this dessert is supposed to be inspired by a Nanaimo bar (many Disney restaurants opt for the "inspired" route instead of serving traditional preparations). It sounds like I would love an authentic Nanaimo bar, since I love custard. :thumbsup2
