Just back this morning, so I'm going to put my reviews in writing while they're still fresh in my mind.
Party of 2: Myself (33) and DH (36)
10/22: Lunch offsite at Olive Garden, Dinner offsite - chinese
10/23: Lunch at 50's Primetime Cafe (bar) - MGM
DH ordered a chicken soup and we split a Fried Clam Po'Boy with fries. Both were tasty and fresh. Just what we expected and the atmosphere there is really fun. Rating: A-
10/23: FIRST GAME OF THE WORLD SERIES... Dinner in the room
10/24: Lunch at Food & Wine Fest - EPCOT
Tried the beef skewer in Morocco w/rice, which was pretty good. Next was a spicy chicken tender (can't remember which country) with a ranch-like sauce, again, good. Had the lobster corn chowder and crab cake from the New England booth, both of which were really tasty, probably our favorite. Also tried the potato & leek soup and the corned beef & cabbage from Ireland, also very good. By that time we were full and decided we'd come back later in the week to finish up. Unfortunately, we never made it back to eat again. Oh, well, something to look forward to next year! Rating: B+
10/24: SECOND GAME OF THE WORLD SERIES... Dinner in the room
10/25: Lunch in the room, Dinner at 'Ohanas - Polynesian
We were not impressed by the quality of food at 'Ohanas. All the meats had the same flavor and were very overcooked. Also, the appetizers were served cold, although they were tasty. This was our first AND last visit to this overpriced restaurant. Rating: C-
10/26: Lunch at Le Cellier - EPCOT
Wow! This was a great meal. DH and I split an appetizer, entree and dessert using a VKL. We started with the Vine Ripe Tomato Stack and a cup of Cheddar Cheese Soup. Both were very tasty and very fresh... good start. For an entree, we ordered the 12oz. Sirloin, rare, which was cooked perfectly and tasted great, too. A nice cut of beef for the price. Dessert was the Chocolate Mousse from the kid's menu, which I enjoyed very much. I had a glass of the house Pinot Griot and DH had a Moosehead.
Our server Ashley, was so nice. She was very perky and was a great waitress. And it was her birthday, so I think she was extra cheerful. This was definitely the best meal of the trip. Rating: A
10/26: Snack at ESPN Club - Boardwalk
DH and I split an order of Buffalo Wings - HOT - at the bar while enjoying a couple of Tanqueray and tonics. GAME THREE OF THE WORLD SERIES.
10/27: Lunch at Rainforest Cafe - Animal Kingdom
We ordered an appetizer, entree and dessert using a VKL. For starters, we tried the calamari, which was just ok, kinda bland. Then we tried the 14oz. Sirloin, medium rare with 1/2 Stuffed Lobster. The steak was cooked exactly like we wanted, and the lobster was good, but not great. For dessert, we had the Apple Cobbler (?), which comes in a large goblet and is very messy to eat. We each had a drink from the specialty menu, and our waitress gave us a souvenier glass with Coke to take into the park. Rating: B
10/27: THE RED SOX WIN!!! Obviously, you see a trend here and can probably figure out that we had dinner in the room.
10/28: Lunch at Pecos Bill's Cafe - Magic Kingdom
DH and I split a chicken wrap and chili cheese fries. Both were tasty and much better than the meal we had there last time (the double cheeseburger that was cooked to "hockey puck" status). Toppings bar is great, as DH enjoys fresh veggies whenever possible.
10/28: Dinner in room, as we relaxed and got ready to head home on Friday.
