We are now home after our 4 days at DLR. I'm pretty sure I already mentioned the crowds! Wow, it was suprisingly crowded, compared to the exact same week last year. Cast Members were very suprised at the crowds as well. They did extend park hours by an hour on Monday and Wed nights.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn. We had a continual problem with the toilet so they finally moved us. They were great about it, and it was a manager who helped us and we got moved to a larger room with a 2nd room in the room, decorated really fun and cool for the kids in Pirates of the Carribean theme. Due to this move we got started late that morning, which put us behind...but it's ok, it all worked well.

Now onto the fun highlights...our 2 kids got pulled into the parade to dance, so they thought that was the best.

We watched Turtle talk with Crush, my DS got chosen in the audience by Crush to talk to, which he thought was cool. But at the end DD4 was sad that she didn't get to talk, so on our way out, the CM stopped us and asked if our DD would like to Talk to Crush. So he brought Crush back out and DD had her own private talk session. I thought that was the nicest thing for the CM to do! It made DD feel extra special.

On our last day, we were in line for Mickey (in costume), this was the 2nd time for the day, as earlier in the day Mickey left before our turn. A CM came up and told us that Mickey was taking a break, and pointed the line where Donald was who was not coming back out for the day, if we wanted to hurry over there. I said "oh no" (sounded disspointed, because the kids had already tried to see Mickey once and failed). But I said nothing more. The CM then said he'd go ahead and have Mickey come down the line to see us before he left (we were behind a few sets of adults). So Mickey came over and met the kids. Then the CM told us to go wait in a certain area away from everything. And Goofy grabbed my sons hand and walked over to that area with us, where the CM had Donald (in costume) come over to do a private meet and greet with us! Some of the CM's really do go out of their way to make things magical! :wizard:

We saw Fantasmic for the first time ever! It was Fabulous (but you guys already know that). We had watched fireworks from that area, and from our Hotel, where we had a good view. BUT on our last night we sat right in front of the Castle to watch, and I didn't realize we had been missing out! The Halloween Fireworks and the whole display that goes with it were fabulous! It really made a big difference to watch from Main Street (which we almost didn't do because of the crowds) I'm glad we did it!

I could go on and on...but I just wanted to share our few special moments that make for great Disney Memories!

Sadly, I can't remember his name, but it was a man......Not sure if that helps any! He was great!

hmmm, no my friends name is britney lol, tiny little blonde girl, so im gonna go with it wasn't her. Her boyfriend chad also works the attraction so thats a possibility

Next time you go make sure to ask crush to name all 65 of his kids, the response is hilarious:rotfl:

We will be at DL on Thursday Oct 15th...hours are extended so I know it will be pretty crowded..:grouphug:

So how did you handle the crowds..Does it help too arrive at opening? Would you suggest riding HM and SM in the morning so we have those out of the way first.

How soon did you sit down for the fireworks??? What area is best???:confused3

Thanks and I am glad you had a fun time....

I am very excited!

This was only our 2nd trip ever, so I really relied on advice from the boards. Here's what worked for us: Arriving at opening was KEY! We got more done in the first 2 hours than the whole rest of the day. On a Thursday, that will be a MM day (early entry). So if you qualify for an MM day, then you will be set. We didn't have MM, and our first day was on an MM day, so we went to Frontierland side right away, at regular park opening (on a Sunday). Indy was down, so we went to Pirates, walked on, then to HM and waited maybe 3 minutes, then Big Thunder Mtn, with a 10 min wait, then Splash was a walk on, Winnie Pooh was a 5 min wait, We tried Jungle cruise but it broke down before we could board. then we did Pirates again, with just a couple min wait. Indy was up then so I got a fastpass for that, and rode it later (after having a snack) and did jungle cruise later as well. By the time we left this area, people were flooding in and as we walked out on Main St, it was PACKED. We did some random things in the afternoon (Star Tours, Matterhorn, Rockets) Things all had waits, so didn't get much done in the afternoon. Watched Fantasmic that first night.

On Monday we arrived at opening (9:00) and did Fantasy Land. Peter Pan was walk on, then Pinocchio was walk on, Dumbo 5 min wait, Snow White walk on, tea cups walk on, small world was 5 min wait. After all that it was now 10:15am. And Peter Pan as we walked back by was now at 35 min wait. Matterhorn was like 45 min wait, Nemo was over an hour. We didn't ride those with the waits, we did Jedi Training for our son at 10:30, then Alice in Wonderland had a 15 min wait after Jedi Training was done. We watched the Billy Hill show and had lunch. Not sure what else we did for the day, it was Packed by that time!

So as you can see, we really did take advantage of the first 2 hours of each day, after that it was hard to get on anything, kids were getting impatient about all the waiting. We did character meet and greets, had snacks, just took it all in at a slower pace after the parks filled up.

Oh, about fireworks, we had been missing out by not watching the fireworks from main street! We finally did on our last night, and it was worth it. We sat down about 1.5 hrs ahead of time and got a spot right in front of the Castle.
