I hadn't been since 6/3, and my mom is visiting from Houston and had never been to DL (WDW a couple of times many years ago). It was a little warm (upper 80s maybe), but not crowded at all!

We ended up getting there around a half an hour after opening, and rode the Matterhorn first. We were in line no more than 5 minutes. Then we went into Toontown to Mickey's house. I was shocked - we were the only people walking through the house at the time, and when we got to the movie barn, there was no line! I've been to DL many times on weekdays in winter and have never seen the queue for Mickey empty!

My mom went on Space Mountain while DS and I went on Buzz, and she didn't even get a Fastpass and waited no more than 20 minutes. The wait for BTMRR in the afternoon was 5-10 minutes.

Another exciting aspect of the day was that there were a TON of characters out, and the lines weren't crazy.

We saw Mickey and Minnie together on Main Street, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale, the Fairy Godmother, and Jack Sparrow by the Baby Care Center.

In DCA, we saw Minnie, Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale, and even Stitch, and we never left the front plaza area and backlot (went to the Playhouse Disney show, walked around the animation building, did some shopping, and then went back to DL).

My mom was thrilled because her birthday is Saturday, so I had her get a birthday pin at City Hall, and she loved all the birthday wishes she got!

It sounds like you had a wonderful time :woohoo: That's good that the lines were not too long - always a bonus!

I hope you had a great trip... what a great bonus to have the lines be so short!

We leave a week from today and I am seriously hoping that the crowd level that you saw yesterday holds true next week!

Aww, what a fun day! Happy Birthday to your mom.

I was there yesterday too. The park was relatively empty crowd-wise.

Fun!

So did you get any new pix of your son? Perhaps with Mickey? I'm sure your boy is older than in the pictures, and I know I'd love to see a new pic! :goodvibes

What a great trip!! Glad you guys had such a great trip, hopefully the lines will still be short in October!!

We were there yesterday also. It was so nice because there weren't big crowds everywhere.

I'm glad you guys had a great time.

Well, since you asked :goodvibes

He did NOT want to hug Mickey. He likes touching all the stuff in Mickey's house and is so over the characters because it has lost its excitement :sad2: .

So my mom grabbed him for a picture.

And then he was just ecstatic on the carousel, as always!

What an absolute cutie-patootie your son is!!!
I love the pix of him with your mom and on the carousel:)
My work decided to close tomorrow so I decided about 20 minutes ago that I am going to Disneyland tomorrow! Ya Hoo!:dance3:

Adorable pictures!! Thanks for sharing.

Do you mind if I ask where you got that cute Mickey/pirate t-shirt for your son?

Glad you had such a great time and your son IS a cutie! Just curious--where did you see Stitch in DCA? I've looked before and never seen him.

I was in line for Playhouse Disney and he came out right by the queue, and then went over to Sunshine Plaza (is that what it's called?). They were all gone by the time the Playhouse Disney show was over.
