DVC members and AP pass holders were offered 2 hour preview sessions. I'm not sure if other groups were offered a preview and I am not sure if there are any openings left. For the preview period you will get a fast pass for a 15 minute window to enter Flight of Passage. It is a shortened queue but still a decent hike to get to the ride. We waited maybe 5 minutes once we reached the ride area. A cast member will place people in 4 different lines and then count people off to enter a small room and stand on a number. You get an intro and then enter into another room for further instructions. It doesn't feel claustrophobic since everyone stands on a number and are not clustered together like in Test Track or Dinosaur. From that room you enter into a long room with what looks like the motorcycle arcade games evenly spaced apart. You get on like you would a motorcycle. When everyone is situated they ask you to lean forward and press your chest against a forward "pad" and to position your feet slightly forward (I've seen some types of motorcycles with similar foot placement). They tell you when the restraint is coming up from the back and positions against the lower back area. After reading previous things about the restraint system being uncomfortable I was not sure what to expect but it was very comfortable. I didn't even feel the calf restraint but moved my leg backward a little and was able to feel that it indeed was in place. I would compare the ride to a cross between Soarin and Mission Space. The ride vehicle leans to the right, left and I think up & down with the motion on the screen (one large screen like Soarin, not individual screens like Mission Space). There are small screens at the front of each ride vehicle with pre-ride instructions. The ride opened with a sudden extreme "movement" but I was quickly able to convince myself I wasn't moving much but it was the movie. The rest of the ride is like you'd expect. I'm not in great physical shape and debated if I would be able to enjoy the ride but it was awesome.

If anyone wants to add or clarify anything I'm sure others would appreciate it. They told us no photography or video recording at this time. I tried to find a POV on the internet and this explains why.

Thanks for the update. Big question, if someone has motion sickness, would you recommend to avoid? Never been on mission space but have been on soarin plenty of times and love it. Been on star tours - not so much. ☹️

This sounds like something I'm going to have a hard time convincing DD to ride with me being she'll be out of my reach.

Motion sickness. If you do okay with Soarin I would think you would be fine with this. if you get that sensation just close your eyes. I am pretty sure you simply lean side to side, front to back. definitely not like Forbidden Journey in Universal. in FOP there is a pretty strong breeze as you are "flying forward" for most of the ride. I find that cool are really helps with my motion sickness.

The comparisons to Soarin worry me a bit as I find it very dull and underwhelming. I'm hoping it's more Forbidden Journey at Universal standard. Is it at least more thrilling than Soarin?

I liked it but I love soarin. I also love Forbidden Journey. FJ to me is thrilling like a roller coaster but soarin and FOP are relaxing "feel good" attractions.

I wish that they would release a picture of the ride seating. Some with physical limitations might have trouble.

Did it twice yesterday for the AP preview. Do not eat before you ride. Star Tours and Soarin' I am fine but I could see how I would get motion sick on this with a full tummy

She is not out of reach. I could have easily reached out and touched my fiance who was on the bike next to me. As long as you aren't on 8 and 9 you would be able to touch her to reassure her she is okay. The bikes are less then arms length away from each other.

It is less like Forbidden Journey because it is not on a track and never puts you fully on your back or fully forward. I found it much more thrilling than Soaring but is not as intense as Forbidden Journey. I get sick sometimes on FJ but had no issues on FoP. I also found FoP much smoother and more enjoyable then FJ because I wasn't being scared while also going on this flight.

The movements are like star tours but as smooth as soarin. All of the quirks of soarin like you see everyone around you, the screen is distorted if your not in the middle are gone. It's also not a "hang glider around the world" so it's more intense in how fast you feel it's flying around but not to the point where it's too much.

soarin is ok, I don't mind it if it's someone elses favorite ride but never ride it myself. This I would ride myself. it's also 3d which adds to the movement in the video and it's really well done 3d, not 3d for 3d sake..

When the ride is in motion can I still reach out to her, or her to me?

This afternoon I found what look like 2 POV videos on youtube. One concentrates on the screen but you can hear guests yelping and a few screams. The other focuses on the back of the ride vehicles. I can try to find the links but would rather people who are interested just do a quick search on youtube since I don't want to post major spoilers.

Do the individual "cycles" move independently or does the whole room just move? I was watching a video and it looks like the whole room does the movement.

yes, easily. it's the equivalent distance of every other seat apart on soarin with nobody inbetween you.. There was a younger rider when I road it that was a little scared at first and you could hear his dad reassuring him that it's just a ride and nothing is going to happen. he was fine and wanted to ride again in the end.

I didn't try but I would imagine yes. Your arms are 100% not restrained and again as long as you aren't on number 8 and 9 there is nothing between you to stop you form doing such.

Awesome thank you so much! It'll still be fear of the unknown for her the first time but as long as I tell her I can touch her, and her me, I think she'll be more willing!

Both. The bike itself can move on the y axis and Z axis (doesn't move forward or backwoods so no x axis) and then the room seems to move on the Z axis as well.
