This morning we decided to have breakfast at the Pepper Market and were really happy with the food selections. Most days DH & DS shared a breakfast skillet and I had my own food (allergic to eggs & the chefs here are very accomodating!).
After breakfast we decided to head over to the Dig Site and check out the resort and pool. We ended up staying at the pool for about 3 hours. The water slide was perfect for DS and the whole pool area is really large and great for families. We had a quick snack of nachos and pretzels and were happy to be able to reflll our mugs rights at the pool.
After the pool, we headed back to the room for showers and a nap before heading out to MGM for the evening. The bus for MGM was just leaving the bus stop when we arrived so we waited about 15 minutes or so for another one. The buses seemed to run pretty quickly at CSR-much better bus service than we encountered at CBR on our first trip.
We wanted to catch the Stars & Motorcars parade & were happy to snag a spot pretty close to the parade start near Star Tours & in the shade-lol! I thought the parade was cute & DH got to be part of the pre-parade show with the woman who was talking during it-she gave him a rubber chicken to take home.
We were pretty hungry so we decided to see if we could get into Mama Melrose's early-we had PS for 6:50 & it was only 5:45. Headed over there and they said-no problem! We were seated in 2 minutes time. Great dinner-I had a flatbread, DH had a sausage & pasta dinner, DS has some plain pasta. We also ordered the bruscetta-it was just ok, IMO. For dessert, the only thing I could order was the panna cotta. It was really good, like a custard but with a lemon flavor-definitely recommend it! We used some Disney Dream Reward Dollars here with no problem.
After dinner, DH & DS went into the Pizza Planet arcade for a bit while I perused a couple of gift shops, then we all headed to to the 3-D Muppet show. Funny as usual, DH had never seen it before & enjoyed it, used the reflective captioning as DH is hearing impaired said he thought it was a good show but nothing he would choose to see again. I liked it more than he did, I guess!
After that we headed on over to RnR since DS was hoping he was going to be tall enough. He was measured & YES he is just over 48" tall. He had been trying to ride this since he was 3 1/2 so he was thrilled to be able to go. We headed into the standby line and waited about 30 minutes to ride. The CM starts talking to DS & mentions this is his first ride so off we head to the front seats--DS LOVES IT-yeah! After we check out the gift shop & buy an sweatshirt to commemorate his first ride, we head back into line (20 minutes) and ride again. He loves it even more the second time
After that we rode ToT, then book on over to the second showing of Fantasmic at 10:30. We get seated in the section reserved for those needing the reflective captioning & the show was awesome as usual. We were glad to see the river boat back as they did not have that when we visited in May. It is neat the see the characters on the boat instead of the 'stage' area. We sat back & let the crowds empty out, then made our way over to Beverly Sunset for some frozen chillers & some caramel apples. We always end our nights in MGM like this & enjoy the "routine"!
At the bus stop a CSR bus was already waiting and left at midnight. We were happy to back at the resort & slept like babies!
