Just to remind everyone to be careful. They really make these things look legitimate. Except...ummm...I don't bank at Wells Fargo. The link to click on to verify your info is in Bangkok, Thailand. Don't fall for this.

Dear Wells Fargo customer,
In order to be prepared for the smart card upgrade on Visa and MasterCard debit
and credit cards and to avoid problems with our ATM services, we have recently
introduced additional security measures and upgraded our software.

The security upgrade will be effective immediately and requires our customers to
update their ATM card information. Please update your information by following
the link given below.

I get something like this all the time from PNC Bank. I haven't had an account there for years. But about a year ago I received a letter from them saying that information was stolen from them, and I could be among the list of stolen names and to keep a look out for anything suspicious. Supposedly no identifying information except name were taken.

If I get an email like that. I put my mouse over the link and see what its says, its usually sending you somewhere else.

Thanks for the warning.....I usually ignore all emails, and go directly to the site and check my account there.
I have gotten them from Ebay, paypal, Wachovia, and pnc(I have never banked there )

There are TONS of these SPAM emails around. Paypal, Ebay, various banks. Just never click on their link and enter your personal information or you could be a victim of identity theft. Scary stuff.
