I'm not sure how many of you know this, but I'm gonna be a grandma (or Nana, which I prefer). Kimmi, my 21 year old, is pregnant. I was devastated at first. I never expected one of my girls to get pregnant before they were married; never even crossed my mind. However, it's happened, and we have no choice but to embrace it, love her, and look forward to this little bundle of joy.

The estimated due date is December 8. It's due exactly when she said it was. She will have an ultrasound between 20 and 28 weeks, then a more accurate due date will be given.

I am finally getting excited, but it's still pretty weird. It's just a matter of getting used to the idea. With all the wedding planning going on for Sarah (the wedding is 5/29), most of my energy is spent on that, so it's keeping me pretty busy. I think that's good, less time to mope.

Anyway, thought I'd keep you all updated.

Can we call you Grannytc??

Congrats

Um, no. How about Nanatc :p ? This is what I get for having kids so young. I have no problems with being a granny, but I don't want to be called that, k? I'll probably have people think I'm the baby's mom instead of Grandma anyway. Too weird.

That is great, Kelli. A baby is always a gift of God. Keep us updated as the months go on. Neat!!!

Thanks for the update, Kelli. I was wondering about you.:)

You'll have to tell us all about the wedding, too. Lots of stuff going on in your family, huh? Good luck!

My mom is Nana, too. It's a nice name. Jacob can already say it at 16 months. My MIL is Grammy, and I don't know when he'll ever say that.

Prayers to you, your family, and that precious baby. You won't be able to imagine life without it by January.

Timeforme: I'll post pics of the wedding when I return. I leave for Kansas May 16 (the wedding's in Topeka, I live in Colorado).

Kermit, the focus for me is on the baby, not the rest of the garbage that goes with this "situation". When we hold that little one in our arms, all this other stuff will be forgotten. Thanks for reminding me.

Babies are such blessings. Bless YOU for taking this on with such a wonderful attitude. Your daughter is lucky to have you! ;)

Congratulations on the little bundle...here's hoping the next 6/7 months are a happy and healthy time for your daughter! :D

December 8 is a good day. That is my nephew's birthday.
Congratulations Nanatc! And best wishes to your dd.

This is very exciting news - a Christmas time baby! What fun it will be this year for you.:bounce:

I vote that they call you Gelli, pronounced "Jelly"! Abbreviation for Grandma Kelli! :)

All the best to your family and the new baby!

May I ask, your two girls in your picture are so cute ... is the bride on the right or the left? :)

tc, Kimmi and the baby will be just fine. How can they not be with all the love and support from you and your DH? Congratulations!

The other TC!

thanks.

danacara, I'm not sure about Gelli. When I was little, my sisters used to call me jelly belly, because I was a little round, so to speak. I would keep thinking my grandkids thought I was fat  .

The bride (Sarah) is on the right, I think. For some reason, I can't see the pic. It was there earlier, now it's just an x. But, she has the lighter color hair. Kimmi's hair is dark.

congrats kelli!!

and you're right...the circumstances may not have been ideal as to how this little one is appearing in your life, but all will be forgotten once that precious bundle arrives!

and just think of all of the trips to WDW with that sweet little one!! i'm quite certain this will be a Disney-ized baby!!!

My Mom is Nana too :D She says she's too young to be a grandma so she doesn't want to be called one! She was 42 when Bubba was born.

When he was little we had a day when we were out doing stuff and someone commented on how cute my little brother was ;) He looked up (he was about 18 months and talking a blue streak) and said "That's my MOM! She's (pointing to Nana) my NANA!!" He was so offended!!

You'll do great!

That's great Kelli!:sunny: I'm sure you'll be the best Nana ever!:teeth:

browneyes: Kimmi has horrible heartburn, but that's about it. No morning sickness yet at 9 weeks, so that's good. We're a little concerned about her fitting into her bridesmaid dress. Her waist is fine, it her bustline that is increasing. And the dress just fit in January, so there's no room to expand. We are having a friend who is a great seamstress do some magic on it, so it will fit. I hope it looks fine. Sarah's a little nervous, but said Kimmi's the maid of honor, so it's okay for her dress to look a little different.

Hi Kelli! Glad heartburn is the only thing she is having problems with.

And my grandson calls me Nana!:D

congratulations soon to be grandma
