Well...we did it!!!!

After going back and forth for months now we finally made the committment today! Our guide called to tell us the $10 credit was ending today and that was enough motivation for me! I went ahead and put the money down and now we are just waiting on our paperwork!!! Yipeeeeeee

Our use year will be February, but we can't use them until May (after the resort opens). That's kinda a bummer because we have a trip planned in February...oh well, guess we'll just have to go again after May....gosh I hate when that happens! LOL

Maybe you can talk someone into trading points with you?

I.E. They book you a vacation in Feb with their points and then you turn around and book them a vacation with your points sometime after may. You never know you may find someone that wants to get into SSR in May that doesn't own there and does not want to risk the 7 month window being sold out.

You might also consider renting the points from another member and then renting your points out so that it balances itself out?

Or it could be cheaper to use your member discount for a stay in Feb, and then rent some of your points out to adjust the cost.

Or you could just do what you said in go both in Feb. and May. Personally thats what I would do. Only with us we are going in Jan, and then again in Sep. Taking the inlaws with us and they can't go in May. LOL

Member discount?? Do tell........
We are currently booked with 2 rooms at Pop Century (there are 5 of us).

At certain times of the year members can get a discount on cash rooms at DVC resorts. I don't think you can get it at the non DVC resorts. Anyway I am pretty sure the discount is like 25% or something like that. Someone else would have to explain that further.

I honestly do not know a lot about the discount. Sorry.
