Hello

Well after the few weeks of waiting and 3 days before we are supposed to leave, ds has chicken pox :sad1: He had a few spots last night and more this morning and the doctor has confirmed what we already knew...no holiday.

I've just finished cancelling everything and copying all the documentation for the insurance company so can just hope that the claim goes through quickly so we can rebook asap.

Fortunately ds is ok, he seems fine enough so far although its early days. Its dd's birthday today :lovestruc so that is keeping us from getting too sad.

Just thought I'd share the news since some of you had asked me to keep you posted. Thanks again for all your kind words in my previous posts :sad2:

Hope you get it sorted out and rebooked asap as that will lessen the blow a little. Also hope your DD has a lovely birthday and that your DS doesn't suffer with the wretched pox.

Let us know as soon as you've rebooked.

I've been there myself when DS got ill before a holiday once, so know how you feel. Hope you manage to get away again to DLP some time in the future.

It might help mentioning the cancellation if you re-book - you never know, you might get some freebies or upgrades!

I've been wondering how he was, I'm so sorry for you all. I know what it's like having your holiday cancelled - it's RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sad1:

Hope that the insurance sorts itself out so you can re-book, and that you get a great offer when you do. :thumbsup2

Wishing your DD a wonderful birthday, hopefully you have some Disney DVDs to watch and try and take your mind off things. In all honesty, I think I was upset far longer than DD was after our cancellation, so big hugs to you too!!! :hug:

I haven't posted on here for so long [really busy at work :rolleyes: ] but when I saw your post I just had to send you a :hug: . I really hope you get the insurance claim sorted quickly so you can book again and that the holiday is even more wonderful when you go....also hope your little one isn't too ill with it, I found Piriten syrup really good when they got itchy :goodvibes .

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words, I'm genuinely overwhelmed!

We've had a nice day in spite of the bad news. DD has had a great birthday and DS is bearing up although he is getting covered in spots before our eyes :scared1: and is itchy already. He'll be getting as much medicine/creams/lotions and potions as possible.

I have spent the last couple of hours sitting with my diary and pricing a replacement holiday, but am kind of stuck. I will start a separate post for opinions.
