As most of you know they recently released gobs of FPs for FOP, including for the day I will be in AK (Nov 12). As a lowly off-site guest, I actually thought I might have a chance of getting one when my 30-day rolls around. There were so MANY available just a few days ago, well after the 60 day FP selections. Not so fast, Mrs. Incredible.

Yes I know I know, check for cancellations constantly for scraps that fall from the table.

Either that or finally give in to staying on site.

Ok, I'll quit my bellyachin' now.

I've just had a bad taste with planning this trip- I've seen major ADR hoarding and trading black-market style on elusive social media groups, and now this.

Takes some of the fun out of it.

I oughtta go put in my mouse ears to change this attitude I have.

This summer we went early and waited at rope drop in the standby line after deciding to go back there on our last day and not having a fastpass for it. It really is worth it to go through the standby line once to get up close to some of the stuff in the cue. It wasn't an incredibly long wait, well other than the wait for rope drop that is. Good luck and enjoy your trip. We will be at AK on the 13th!

Don't get hit by the Disney double whammy: spending months agonizing over all the stressful planning to get the hot ticket reservations, only then to feel at least a little underwhelmed afterwards and wondering what all that agonizing and stress was about. I've usually found that the "hot tickets" can't live up to expectations (even if very good) - and I've seen plenty of people more concerned with bragging rights over getting a "hot ticket" reservation than what's actually involved with that reservation. You already know the drill - it's frustrating - but you've got the right idea to switch up the mood and focus on the fact it'll still be a good time (it was already the happiest place on earth before FoP, which has not appreciably moved that needle).

I don't know how often you get to go...but if it's often enough, just skip Pandora this time if it's stressing you out. See it next time when the hype dies down (Unless you are a huge Avatar fan I guess!) As someone said, WDW is still what it was before that ride.

You are all right. So right. Thank you for rkndkng me of that. And that social media group (the black market Adr trading one) makes me grumpy so I will ban myself from it!!

Thanks Dis friends.

I am a disney girl at heart. FP or no FP, ADR or no Adr, it just doesn't matter.
There are a lot of things in life that I have had to ban myself from recently so that I don't live life like a big old sour puss. I didn't know about these groups, but I could have guessed that was going on when I couldn't get any ADRs on day 180.

I figure if nothing else I can spend an hour and a half in the queue at FOP myself and then let my wife rider swap it and we all "win". Just remember how much you love your favorite Disney stuff! Grab a Dole Whip!

Either that or finally give in to staying on site.

Well that won't help for this trip.

Go at rope drop. Have fun. Or just go when it works for you and enjoy the time in line. I spent over an hour in line for dl space mountain (bc we already had Fps for something else and we wanted to ride the ride) about a year ago and it was fine. We talked, met people, people watched...no biggie.

This is what we did in July! It was a fairly last minute trip and we decided we'd just get to AK about 45 minutes before it opened. The longest wait was for them to open the park. We were packed like sardines walking back to FOP but it was pretty calm. We were off the ride by 8:25 (it was an EMH day) and had the rest of park to do at our own pace. Most of the wait was actually going to each holding point on the way to Pandora. It seemed like once we entered the FOP queue we were on the ride in no time!

Don't feel bad.
I'm a 60 day outter and wasn't eaten up with jealousy that my time hasn't come yet oodles of FoP ressies were available .
Why? Why because...

( Trying to stay up to date since I know this is a cover (awfully credible!) and I can still recall hearing Ruby and the Romantics singing it;))

I know there were some "extra" FPs that popped up recently, but aside from that most people have not been able to get FPs at 60 days (unless staying for a trip longer than 5 days).

I'm staying onsite and was not able to get FoP for the same date you're looking at either.

I couldn't get FoP on day 63 but I just checked and got it exactly 30 days out. I had planned on hanging out in Pandora and getting in line right at close based on another thread somewhere around here. But for some reason evening FP+ became available (none in morning or afternoon). Hours haven't changed.

If we weren't able to ride it this trip, I was fine with waiting. Once Galaxies Edge and Tron open, FoP may have a bit more availability. :D

My original plan was to just do standby, and make the best of it with some family bonding while we waited- in fact I recently started a thread on favorite things to do in line, which people posted lots of great ideas to.

Waiting in line at disney with people you love the most beats being at work, any day any time. And I have heard the cue is pretty awesome.

There will always be some new attraction, I get it. Think I just had to go through some emotions but I'm back to center now.

Thanks Dis-ers!

My 60 day window was Wednesday and I was able to get 4 for FoP on day 64.

I feel better.

Actually, I feel amazing.

Thanks! :flower1:

And sometimes the scraps that fall from the table can be pretty tasty ones. :D I'm a proud off site person myself. FoP is definitely VERY hard to get for an off site person, but not impossible. I got one back in July, for only 24 hours in advance. Everything else in all WDW is pretty easy to get a FP+ for, so I'm still able to grab a same day FP+ for 95% of attractions they have. I can live with that.

FWIW I got FPs for the ride 60 days out (stayed on site). I don't regret going on it, but out of our group of 7, only 2 want to do it again.

It's pretty nauseating. Yes, a lot of people are raving about it, but it's definitely not my cup of tea. I preferred the Navi River ride by a far shot.

The ADR hoading IS out of control :-(. Where are said social media groups? We go infrequently enough that I will put in the work and effort to get ADRs. Last time we were at Ohana's was 10 YEARS ago simply because we couldn't ever get reservations on subsequent trips. It was our fav 10 years ago. I am willing to go to far lengths to make it happen this trip!!
