Unfortunately, when you raise them right, they go and do exactly what she is doing, making her way. Consider it a side effect of a job well done!
I took out student loans, though. I also qualified for grants because I was estranged from my parents, the proof being a nasty letter from them, so the school- University of Kansas (thank you!) gave me what is called a "dependency override" when I was 18 so my parents income was not in consideration for my aid. I think I had to prove I was living on my own since I turned 18 years old. The long and short of it is you have a small, but destinct window of opportunity to kick her out of the house and write her a nasty note saying "the door is closed to you from now on" or some such nonsense. It is deceptive, true, but more legal than Marijuana!
