Hugs to you - my babies are 14 and 16 years old and will be facing these types of life-changing decisions soon also. Sometimes it's tough to be a Mom but it sounds like you've raised a wonderful daughter who's ready to spread her wings in the big wide world.

Congratulations to your daughter, Serena! Choosing to serve is very cool. I was active duty Air Force for 9+ years and have been in the Air National Guard for that last 5. I would not change my military service for anything. You should be very proud of her for making this decision. (Yes, you are allowed to worry!! My mom still worries about me deploying and going to war!)

Yeah Dan, it may not be upgraded yet though. I bought the plus yesterday. It had been so long since I'd posted a picture that I had let it lapse.
I figured that all out yesterday. Then today I realized that my tech guy didn't install the picture editor. But I got it.

Unfortunately, when you raise them right, they go and do exactly what she is doing, making her way. Consider it a side effect of a job well done!

I took out student loans, though. I also qualified for grants because I was estranged from my parents, the proof being a nasty letter from them, so the school- University of Kansas (thank you!) gave me what is called a "dependency override" when I was 18 so my parents income was not in consideration for my aid. I think I had to prove I was living on my own since I turned 18 years old. The long and short of it is you have a small, but destinct window of opportunity to kick her out of the house and write her a nasty note saying "the door is closed to you from now on" or some such nonsense. It is deceptive, true, but more legal than Marijuana!

It's not THAT bad! Actually, if she's going into the Army NG, she would probably end up with helicopters and...I would worry about those. But the other planes? Not bad at all!
