after a good nights sleep, i tried again this morning and it's not so bad ( not fantastic but the lens wasn't that great to start with so I'll blame it on that :teeth: )

definitely need another lens or an other set of arms( hey that's a good idea) as i don't think i can lug a tripod all over.. i might see about getting a monopod after i get my other lens back and see how the weight of that one is...i don't think the 18-125 is much if any bigger than that one. at least this one wasn't a 4,000 lens i can't use

I saw the other picture you posted ("my first digital picture") and it was very good. But if all you have is the 100-300 zoom you have got to get another lense. The 100-300 has way too much magnification to be used more than occasionally. Not to mention the fact it is as heavy as a brick!

yeah i know but it's heavy as a cinder block not a brick :rotfl2: I have a 28-80 for my old rebel film that is being upgradedfor digital ( takes 2 wks) and i am going to get probably the 18-125...but till then it's the 2 ton farsighted devil lens or nothing :rotfl:

holy crop?? is that a photographer's joke? :teeth:

Well, it is now! :rotfl2:

Great detail in your pic, Janet!! Glad your feeling better about your XT! I am just about to hit "buy" on Amazon this very second....

To lighten your load you might want to look into having a monopod made from aluminum tent poles. Most camping supply stores can do this and even the heavy duty ones are less than 4 ounces!
I like them made from 6 sections so they collapse to about 12".

Carbon fiber poles can cut that weight by 40% but at a fairly high cost. Holy crop! ;)

great idea ! thanks we have a tent but probably would miss one of it's pole so I'll have to purchase ( or stealthily visit my next door neighbor's tent next time we camp, wonder if they'd notice a missing pole :confused3 :teeth: )

Jen guessing you didn't win the camera on ebay? happy clicking! still haven't heard about my $9 from buydig.com:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
