:cool1:I stood in line for 5 hours to get the $198 computer from walmart yesterday. AND I GOT IT!!!! Its a pretty good computer too. And to get a new computer for $198 + tax and a lap top at that is amazing....Now I can burn the cd's and dvds that we need burnt.....Im sooo happy. $198!!! YAY....:cool1:

Ok, I had to say how happy I am about it...anyone else get a good deal on black friday???

We had to stop out there for my friend's aunt to see how many they had and how many people were in line. We were there at 2:45. They had 9 people in line and 21 computers. She called her aunt who was in bed. The aunt was number 18 in line by the time she got out there.

the walmart we went to only had 16 of them to begin with and by 130am all the tickets were given out and they wouldnt let anyone else in line. We could leave for 15 minutes for a bathroom break but we had to have a pass for that. If we got out of line, and didnt have a pass, we didnt get our space back and lost the computer....needless to say, I didnt move from my spot!!!

Both the $200 and $300 laptops were gone by 10pm at our Walmart! I was surprised when I overheard the people in line talking about it. I got all the way through the check out process online at 2am for the $300 one, clicked submit order only for it to say it then was out of stock :sad2:

My crazy friend stayed up all night for the deal, getting her #1 place in line about 11:00 pm. Yikes! Their wal-mart had the same bathroom pass rule, get out of line rule, etc.

I did NOT stay up all night, but I'm happy for the people who got a great deal, and I'm glad wal-mart came up with some rules to stop the craziness. From what I heard, everyone was in quite a festive and happy mood :).

we got in line at about 1:30 and we purchased 3 laptops... 2 for my brothers daughters and one as a christmas presant for my dad. (my brother is paying for the 2 for his daughters not me, i'm not that generous lol).

We were in line at walmart that night too. We got there at midnight and my mom, dd & me were numbers 9,10,& 11 for the 298. computer. My sister was #3 for the 198. computer. We sat there until 5:00 on the cold floor. It was freezing in there too. :( but it was so worth it!! :cool1:

The guy watching us was nice and let us sit down but there was a line for a big TV and they had to stand the whole time. Those people were mad.

we had to stand too. They wouldnt let us sit down until we moved the line from the main isle to the "Christmas ornimant Isle. They wouldnt let us check out until 5am. They said that it wouldnt ring up on the registers.... I didnt argue, I was just glad I was getting one. There were only about 5 people in line for the $$398 one and they had 8 of those. The line for the $298 one was outside in the lawn and garden place. OUTSIDE!!! It was about 30 degrees and snowing that night and they made those people stand outside. Until it started sleeting on top of the snow!!!! Then they let them come inside......I thought it was kinda mean of wallyworld....

Geez, no sitting and one 15 minute break, seems kind of cruel. I bet the employees get a kick out of the "power" too. Glad you got your laptop though, great deal!

Oh yeah, they got a kick for sure. Our guy wouldn't let us use anything to sit on that was around us. They had some of those fold up chairs that you take to games and I was even willing to buy one but he wouldn't let us do it.

I tried to bring chairs in with me but they told me no at the door so I ran, yea I did really run, them back to the car, and when I came back in I grabed a wheel chair for my mom to sit in. She has a bad back & foot so she would have never made it. What was funny is that I stood there for a second debating on taking the power chair or the one you push. I grabed the one you push because I didn't know how to use the other and I thought I would make it faster walking fast with it. :rotfl2: I felt stupid rushing through the store with an empty wheelchair. Once I found her she sat in it the whole time. It worked out great. :thumbsup2

I can see the lawsuits over the must stand issue. What about people that cannot stand for that long?

Uhh--yeah and I can see a judge saying, "This was your choice."

Seriously, it was for a sale! There is no judge in their right mind who is going to allow a lawsuit for someone who had to stand a Walmart for 5 hours to get a cheap laptop! If you can't stand that long, stay in bed and buy one another time! Wow--sorry, I am just surprised at this post!

Ahh, but then again, there was a judge who gave a woman a million dollars for spilling a cup of coffee on her lap and burning herself......To me, that is the same thing as the standing thing......your choice to stand. Your choice to get a hot cup of coffee......

Depends. I'd think that the ADA laws might cover this. Plenty of people have a disability that wouldn't ALLOW them to stand in line for that long. I'd hope those people choose to stay at home, but you never know

This is why I got my mom a wheel chair. They let her use that but they wouldn't let us use chairs. At least our guy let us sit on the floor. I think it's insane to make people stand for that long, but that's just me. :)

I agree with you. I thought it was stupid that we had to stand there for 5 hours. but we did get to sit down the last hour cause we were out of the main isle and where we were was roped off.
