Well I did it!!! I CAN SEE WITHOUT GLASSESS/CONTACTS!

Whoo-hoo! I went through with it! I had Lasik eye surgery yesterday. It's so amazing! I can see distance now, like I'm wearing contacts/glasses... but I'm not wearing any! And, I'm back to work this morning.

Went for my next day follow-up and my left eye is right where it should be, my right is even better!

It will get better and better over the next 3 months. I just can't rub my eyes at all, and have to wear a shield to bed so I don't rub them... that's for 2 weeks. No eye make-up for 2 weeks.

This is so amazing! I recommend it!

Congratulations! I had it done almost 3 years ago. It is truely miraculous! Just wait until you go swimming for the first time! And go buy some cute, fun sun glasses too!

were you awake and did your insurance help pay for it ( if you don't mind me asking that ) I have bad estigmas in both eyes and am well i can't see far way .. I was thinking if i could ever skip a trip to the world i would be able to save up money for this ! I am glad it went soo well. Michelle

That's wonderful, Leah! I had mine done about a year and a half ago, and I still think it's the most wonderful thing! You're going to love it!

Michelle, I was awake when I had Lasik, with no sedatives. Some people have said their surgeon gave them something to relieve tension (Valium maybe, I don't remember for sure). Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't cover this. I have astigmatism in both eyes, and haven't had problems.

bigsis1970 - yes, I was awake. It was super fast! It took about 30 seconds per eye. No pain AT ALL! (dizneenut, it is NOT painfull AT ALL!)

Insurance doesn't usually cover any because it's elective, not medically necessary. BUT, it is sooooooo worth it in the long run. My fee includes all follow-up visits, an eyedrop kit, and a life time guarantee for if the same thing would go wrong. (I'm nearsighted).

I had mine done the same day as DD and I haven't regretted it yet! I also am covered for life if I need an enhancement or anything. I would recommend it to anyone who is considering it! It's a great feeling! Congrats!
