Afternoon!

Jeannie...yayas will come up with the best plans.
If Nick needs help with the proposal, let us know. Hope it is soon!!
M'Cori has an uncle up here, I think. But they have lots of friends....so I guess that's why they decided here. But....they could always change their minds ;)
I have already found loads of great places.....but I need them to get me a bit more info....like how many people and cost

Anyway...hope every one and all the kiddos are feeling better.
Hope everyone is keeping warm...we're all the way up to 28º, but not sunny, Elaine.
Cloudy, gray skies.

I may not be around much tomorrow.
DD has to drive back to school, so I will be wringing my hands.
I internalize things like that and it does a number on my tummy.

Hope everyone has a good evening.
I think we are going to put our snow boots and coats on and walk down to the mailbox....that's our excitement for today :teeth:

Liz, so gald to heat that ankle is finally cooperating and starting to heal.

ffffffrrrrrrozen here. Hi YaYas:wave2: Got home from work and it is so cold...How cold is it? The garage door won't go up. My baby must stay outside:( DSs (both!) ran to my rescue and my baby should be in soon.

Easy supper here, spagetti and ground meat with Ragu sauce for my carnivores with bag-o-salad.

Oh my...that ring is so beautiful. How wonderful.

Nancy, Washington and Seattle area were on the news here. Snow storm worst in 7 years. Oh stay where you can be safe and warm.

DH just walked in. Be back later.

Thanks for allowing me time in the sauna tonight!! I really need it! I don't know what was up with these kids today but you would have thought they had never been expected to read a book in their entire lives!! I literally banged my head against the chalk board! It didn't help at all, but I felt like I was doing something productive!!!
This happens once or twice each year where I have to really remind them what school is all about! I forgave them for their lapses before break but they should be rested by now!

Oh well, I am going to bed early tonight so hopefully I will be able to handle them tomorrow.

BTW happy Birthday Deena!!!!! Glad it was a good one. I love mexican food...just finished taco bell! There was no way I was cooking in this mood!!! If something had gone wrong it would have been all over for everyone living in a 5 mile radius!

Liz take your time, I have to get jarrod into bed, but when I'm done you better move over!!! hehe (this is when being pregnant sucks, I REALLY want a nice stiff drink!! I guess I;ll settle for diet cherry coke!)

Okay, going to post a thread that might bet ugly if the right people see it. hehehe

Todd, I enjoyed my naps! :teeth: :teeth:

Tara is that an invitation for some of us naughty yaya's?? :p

Goodness, could the DIS be any slower for me? I'll hush because I know it could ;)

LOL, Alan :p I'd like to see you work your magic ;)

Nancy, cost and number of people are just minor :p Just give them places and let M'Cori's parents deal with it... of course they might just :faint: instead!

Lily, my garage door was a bit creeky getting up today as well! Fortunately it did move on its own!

Tara, I heard that a full moon is coming up soon... might it have anything to do with that? A friend swears that affects their kids (she teaches 1st grade)

Oh and I saw your thread too... nice ;)

Hi Sherry & Deena :)

:faint: :faint: So TIRED!!! Elaine sorry I never showed for work this morning....I had to TONS of stuff that came up on my desk this morning. Stayed till 6 and still have more tomorrow

So....Liz...we're the wedding planners??? I miss the planning process glad to have one to work on :) Nancy congrats to all of you...now take my advice...stay relaxed...wedding's shouldn't be stressful. Definitely get numbers from them...when you're calling around get specific prices and ask for them in writing if you're really interested in the places. Agh....I really do miss this process of the planning! :)

Tara....enjoy the spa...sounds like you had a heck of a day!
Liz glad to hear the foot is better and you got some rest.
Bella bella bella....liking the new name :) now you just have to be here more often for me to use it ;) oh...and YES you'll know.

okay...that's all I can remember...SO TIRED from all that work today......gonna hit the sack early.

 to all!

Nancy I can help plan the wedding :Pinkbounc I did all the planning for my wedding. It was nice if I say so myself and I did really good at not spending a fortune. I spent under $5000 and that includes my dress, catered reception and all. I almost faint when I hear about $20,000 + weddings :faint:

THat's okay Kristy... but remember 7 am and be ready to work ;)

OMG, Deena, I have heard about some of the weddings out there. Ours was reasonably priced too. Not that an expensive wedding is bad, but I am practical and see that as the cost of a car or a downpayment on a house.

GOing to bed soon... boards are crawlinga gain for me. Good night :)

All naughty Ya Ya's are welcome, but I have a feeling it won't get ugly. Hopefully nobody is stupid enough to jump in and start bad mouthing good parenting in the same post where a child is molested. But then again you never know.

My night at the spa has not gone quite as well as planned. First Jarrod decided to pitch one of his temper tantrums where he is just totally out of control. I end up putting him in "the Hold" which is just to wrap him up in my arms with his arms tucked so he can't hit or scratch and then let him scream until he stops. I sit in a chair or on the floor and rock him and try to calm him down with soothing words so that he can gather himself, but he is one strong little devil and he uses every bit of energy I have. (wow, can we say runon sentence, not changing it tho!) I finally got him calmed enough and in bed.

Next was a quick trip to Kmart to drop of some Mary Kay product and I come back to find my mom on the couch holding her arm. Well, she was taking some trash out and she caught her foot on a piece of plywood next to the house and then she went for a little trip. She is thankful she is a fat woman because that saved her face but she landed on her left arm and now has pain shooting all the way up it. She also bumped her head but not very hard and did not lose consciousness. So then I had to call my uncle to help me move an old beat up picnic table made of redwood down to the street for the trash tomorrow. Don't think he was too happy to come out so late, but he did it and I thanked him for it.

so now here it is almost 10 and I have yet to hit the spa or the bed. Now of course since I was up moving doing the trash I'm ready to eat again. Joy! It will be midnight before I get to bed!!

And yes it could very well be the full moon with all the kids. I hadn't even thought of that.

Goodnight my yaya friends and thanks for letting me vent, or for at least skimming the vent!!! hehe
tara

Ah, back from contorsion world!! I can't wait to take a real bath. But for now, I am happy to freshen up every other day!!! I can't wait till I am back to the daily shower thing!!!!

Tara, great thread. I am very shocked that you haven't been flamed yet!!! Although I totally agree with your point of view. BTW, you can have the jacuzzi now!!!!! It is all scrubbed out and filled with some nice hot water and bubble bath!!! I left the strawberries and sparkling grape juice in light of your hard day!!!Enjoy! :) :hyper:

I napped for everybody today.:) Nobody should be tired.:)

I hear it is very cold here. I have yet to go out yet. Maybe it will warm up by Saturday. We have a party to go to. I told Greg tofind my nicest flannel lounge pants and a nice shirt to match. This really might be ajob for Alan. I have no idea what I am going to wear. This should be pretty interesting.

Nancy {{{{{{hugs}}}}}} for tomorrow. You and dd are in my thoughts. Lots of :wizard: to you both.

Kristy, you better go to bed early....Elaine goes to work very early!! Just imagine the commute!!

Well, I guess I better say nighty night before I get grounded again.

Sleep well and more tomorrow!!!

Liz, goodnight pleasant dreams. Thanks for napping for me...felt good and refreshing. Maybe you could give me 5 more minutes next time though.

Garage door was frozen so wouldn't go up. DH will open it before he leaves so he is sure I can get out.

Ya know, I really hate it when I hit post reply and get that stupid "page cannot be displayed"!!! AAAAARRRRRRGGHHH!!! 3 times in a row!!!!! Try HARDER you dumb computer!!

Liz, Tara, hope you enjoyed your jacuzzi time!

Glad to hear the ankle is showing some improvement, Liz. You'll be running around WDW again before you know it!!!

Poor Tara, you didn't break the chalk board, now, did you? My kids always seemed to fall apart in January, too. Then came midterms and

Nancy, you don't have to look far for a caterer, either!! I bet Pam's Roadkill Cafe and Catering Service will take care of the food for ya for a very reasonable price!! Right, Pam?? Pam??

Where IS that girl? I miss Paaaaaammmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, the cold weather has arrived with a vengeance. It's 23º out and with the windchill, feels like 14º! I am loving this chance to wear my snuggly sweaters and my new mittens, but where the heck is my snow??!! It's no fun having cold weather without snow to play in!!

Nancy, I just saw the national weather map. I vote your DD stays an extra day or two rather than trying to head back to school tomorrow. Did she get some chains while she was home?

I'm with you, Kristy......tired puppy here. Gonna head off to sleepy land.
:wave2: to all I've missed...{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}} for everyone!

'sup yoyo's?

Those of you who have been married recently or whose kids have gotten married (or whatever) how much did the wedding cost (approximatley?) i know its early and all  , but i want to start saving now...

thanks!!!

Liz--party starts at 5:30..But earlier for others...;) ..glad to hear some improvement on your ankle

$20,000 for a wedding???:earseek: :earseek:

I think our wedding probaly cost $2,000 max...and thats everything...

bella...Elope & save your money for a house...:teeth:

Beth--1, 2, 3...breath in, breath out...Relax....;)

Lily--Take the day off...you have a legitimate reason...:jester:

cheesy ketchup over...:duck:

Bella--well my 5 yr anniversary is in April. Is that recent to you?? You know what is expensive, the caterer. We saw many that wanted $$$ for just finger foods  I finally found one who I think our total cost for fo food, including the 2 cakes, that was about $8 or $9 pp for a buffet with turkey, ham, potatoes, green beans, rolls--I think Im leaving something out. I also say find a pretty dress but be reasonable. The most expensive one I liked was $2500--no way was I spending that on a dress. Ended up getting the perfect dress from Davids Bridal for $575--well actually $500 because it was on sale $75 off.
This looks almost like the drss I had but mine has very light cream accents on it--which was perfect since it was my 2 marriage.

Best advice is just not to lose you head in all the pretty stuff, its easy to do :D

Good morning all! Cold, snowy... when does spring come?

Tara, sorry about your night last night! I hope that today is a better one for you and your family :) I'm not sure how truthful that full moon thing is, but my friend swears by it!

Liz, be sure to take pictures of what you get to wear on Saturday... should be a good laugh for us ;) Hopefully though, Greg will do a good job!

Lily, what a pain with the garage door!!! I guess I should be happy that ours didn't freeze!

Bethie, doesn't it suck when you lose a good post? I lost one yesterday with the Riddlers! I hope you had a good nights sleep and bundle up! I hear the cold is really supposed to hit!

Bella, when Luis and I got married just over 3 years ago, we spent just about $5000 (give or take). Most of it went to photography ($1600) & the reception ($2000). My dress was hand made and only cost $200 so I saved a lot right there. I think my sister got married and it was closer to $8-9K. I could ask my dad since I consider hers to be an "average" wedding (not over the top at all)

Although I like the way Todd thinks... eloping is good! I was lucky though, my dad did pay for mine. I could have afforded our wedding though. But I chose to drop about $5K on our honeymoon instead  Still had money for a downpayment about 6-8 months later though.

I like Deena's advice though... actually the quote in my sig is something I came up with for a friend who was getting married and getting really upset because of the wedding. More or less says, forget the tiny things, focus on the person you love and why you are getting married. The rest really doesn't matter.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful day!!! :)

Morning all!

Another cold day here in NE Ohio. Blech! I hate winter.

DS comes home from camp today! :bounce:

Okay..Let me see if I can break my costs down....lol..
We had a 1:00 wedding so we had hot dogs/bratts/metts for our catering...More like a 'grill out' kind of reception..I think we got the reception hall in the price range of $250-300....(Amanda might have to correct me here) and it was right on the river and we had the option of having certain things outside, such as volleyball(people had time to change in between the wedding and the reception) but it was a rainy sort of day....The catering was $2.50 per plate...Very good deal there, and we did have sides(We had paid for catering for 200 people)...Amanda had a relative who gave us a package price for the DJ, photography & the cake which came to $750..and he gave us the negatives from all the pics....The wedding dress was from Pennys Outlet(I think) and I think it might of cost $100-150...And we went to Gatlinburg for a couple nights for our honeymoon since Amanda was working & going to school full time when we got married...Took our week vacation a couple months later....Not sure how much was spent on miscellaneous things such as gifts for the party and other small things...but in the end I think it was right around $2,000...
But if you ask Amanda, she'd rather have eloped in Gatlinburg, TN...:D

It figures the day I have to take Mandy to school and go out, that both the girls are sleeping.. Gotta get a oil change for the van and get my/look into Direct TV..
