ACCCKKKKKK!!! Suzanne, that pic almost gave me a heart attack!!! :rotfl2: Too funny!!! Poor thing, did you get bit by the scrapping bug?! 'Bout time!!!!
Hope you can get your furniture, but what's Mouse Surplus? Gotta be an employee for that? So very, very glad to hear the meds are working for Neil! Keeping everything crossed that this continues and his behavior will settle down some. I know how badly he needs to feel some successes in his life!

Tara, can I send some stuff back with you next weekend? You can sell it in your yard sale for me? I have plenty--we're up to our eyeballs in crap, too. Good for you taking a nap!!

Which reminds me--No VCR player anymore, so what do we do with all our old VCR tapes? Are they saleable or do we need to donate them someplace or are they just trash, now? Anybody got any ideas?

Good to hear there's another good movie out there, Nancy. I haven't been following any of the entertainment news lately and don't know what's going on in the movie world anymore. So very sorry to hear about Christin's restaurant. Big PITA and such a low-down dirty move on the management's part to shut down with no notice. Methinks it's time to call out the Cheetoh Patrol!!

LOL!!! Elaine remembers how poor "Marilyn" got so sick on Dumbo!! Never would have happened if she hadn't demanded a turn on the control stick and then lost control--up and down and up and down! Nearly made me sick too!

Well, the closet still hasn't been touched, but Dave got the storage room straightened and re-packed so there is a bit of room in there. I got all 6 loads of laundry done (folded & put away, even!), a pot of chili made, 6 months of bill filing taken care of and even got out to the craft store for some T-shirts! Had to go check out a 4-story building with balconies going in behind the Hampton Inn that is across the street from "my" store. Hoping it is an apartment building cuz our lease here is up Jan. 31st and I could walk to work from there! If I REALLY want to clean house, the best thing to do is MOVE!!! No sign at the construction site, but the rest of the area is residential, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Bethie,

Mouse surplus is open to anyone. That's the beauty of it-I can't access all the cool cast member stores anymore, so this is how I'm able to get some stuff!

That picture sums up the wacky man I married. That and pretending he's 'we tahded' out in public.

I passed almost all my videos to my sister the luddite. Then I bought her a DVD player recently, so she's going to donate them to her church.

Okay, gang.

I don't think I've given the full update on my mom, and I'm about to post a thread asking for this wonderful community's help.

Mom is starting Chemo on Monday and will be going through three day cycles every three to five weeks. I've got to be the strong one for her.

I think it's really starting to sink in what we have ahead of us. My dad went through two rounds of cancer treatment (in '78 and '81), but his was surgery and radiation-this chemo thing is going to be much harder. It was a lot different when I was a kid.

This is part of the reason for the trip to WDW tomorrow. It'll be my last real 'play date' for a little while. I don't know what is in store for my mom and know I've got to be available 24/7 starting Monday morning.

As some of you have said, I seem to thrive on being busy, and I'm in for a very busy time now. (anyone wanna convince my stepdad he needs wifi?). If I'm not around, suffice to say I'm where I can't get online. If we get to that, I'll make sure to keep in phone contact with y'all. Or a drive by here and there.

Sorry that this is so maudlin, but I don't want you to think I've become another MIA yaya! I'll try to do drive bys if things get chaotic-I promise!

Suzanne

Best wishes that all goes well....and easy for your mother, Suzanne. Good luck to you for staying strong too

Beth, management at Christin's store just found out about the closing at a meeting last night, so they had no notice either. It came from higher up.
She actually had the choice of 2 weeks pay or being transferred to the store in another town.....but she had been looking for a new job anyway and too many are transferring so there won't be enough hours for everyone.
Now she just needs to find something else.
She gets her certification the end of Feb., so just something to last that long.....at least she has the time to look now

Here ya go Beth. :) http://www.mousesurplus.com/
Dave is waiting for a monorail again :rotfl: Yeah, right!

That picture cracked me up, Suzanne. Our DH's better not get together. That is so totally something Dave would do

He is still at work  I sure hope things settle down soon for them. They are putting in way too many hours!!

Very quick hi here... was trying to reply when I got a power blip and then needed to restart everything (including our internet)

Gee Tara, what's wrong with letting him stay on the bus like that? I can think of a bunch of reasons why it would be good ;) Glad you got a nap in and yay for cleaning out the storage!

Bethie, can't get much for the tapes, but we sell old ones to used bookstores. We still use our VCR now and then though. Oh and I thought Marilyn got sick from the drinking at Kimonos the night before ;)

Suzanne, best wishes to you and your mom! I can imagine how busy you will be. I hope all goes well for her (not sure how much chemo has changed in 12 years, but I remember doing all that with my mom). Hang in there and pop in when you can

Nancy, I hope this will be a blessing in disguise for Christin. Hopefully she'll find a good job that she can hang onto until Feb! And I wanted the monorail too!!! But no place to put it :p

Gotta go... see y'all later!!!

Where is everyone this morning? Are you all sleeping in?

I have room for the monorail, Elaine, so if you get one before we do, you can store it here :rotfl:

Morning all....

Sorry that I have been absent - it's been a busy couple of days - Jeffrey's uncle (his dad's brother) passed away this week - we had the wwake friday night and funeral yesterday morning. It was a full military funeral - very moving.

Got home about 2pm yesterday - had to make cookes for a birthday party last night. Went to the party - had a great time - good food - etc - picked up the suitcase....

I have to tell you that I got a really cute card in the mail from Alyssa...the front has a pengiun with wings spread - it says "Few things are worse than being in a hug position with no one to hug....Miss you"......and she wrote a nice note saying how much she misses us but is really happy at Albany and also that she hopes I have a great time on my vacation. How sweet is that??

Suzanne - continued prayers and good thoughts for you and your Mom - will you really be at WDW tomorrow?? Will I feel your vibes???????????

Nancy - sorry to hear about Christin's job situation....hopefully somethoing even better will come her way. Loved the pic if the "kids" play date!!

Elaine - how are the sinuses today? Better I hope.

Beth - we have been starting to buy as many Disney movies as we can on DVD to replace the VCR ones - my om and dad had started buying them for the kids when they were little so we have quite a collection.

Speaking of movies - Alyssa has taken to sending me quoted back - we are having so much fun with this - of course no matter how hard I try she seems to get everyone.

Tara - yippee for cleaning - or at least making a dent - I'm quite sure I could have a yard sale too - sooo many toys here.......

Well - off to get some laundry done before working......oh....one more thing......just a little note.......I AM LEAVING TOMORROW MORNING FOR WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited.....I will try to post later but it most likely won't be till after I get done working - I always get booted out of the boards when I'm working - connected to too many things I think.

Suzanne....lots of good thoughts being sent your way. Having done this less than 3 years ago with my grandmother I know how you feel. Good luck to you all!! I hope you enjoy WDW today!

Going to a pampered chef party this evening with DSIL. Probably won't buy anything, but will hopefully get some decent food out of the deal!!

Have a geat day ya'll!!

tara

me again.....

OK - maybe I'm getting pre-packing stress......2 questions......

I don't know what to bring for a purse??? me - the lady of 1000 purses.....It's between my LL Bean Fanny pack (which I forgot I had by the way) and my pink Vera Bradley bag (shoulder bag but big enough for camera - etc.). Any suggestions??

Also.......is there anywhere on site that I can download from my digital camera onto a cd?? Just wondering - don't want to run out of camera room.....

Had someone call in sisk - I may have to work till 7pm instead of 5pm.....

And lastly......I'm not sure what parks we will be going to (may only be epcot)but... does anytone want me to pick up anything?? Just me me know......

Hugs all around.....

Bring the Fanny pack, Paula. It's nice to have hands free for souvenirs and ice cream ;) You can put your pictures onto CD at the camera centers in the parks (at least Magic Kingdome and Epcot). Have fun!

Yay!! Paula.....TOMORROW :hyper:

At least while you are working you can be thinking about that.

:wave2:

Kind of tired, not sure I'm going to the Pampered chef party or not. Beth decided that since she is going to Phily tomorrow that she wanted to stay home tonight and give Ella her bath and put her to bed. I guess she still likes her kid :rotfl:

Paula...take both then deicde when you get there!! That's always me.

JRkaren...thanks for the info about putting the pics on disks at the MK and Epcot. I was wondering that myself. Whew! I don't have to worry about running out of disk space. I always take way too many pictures.

I was cleaning my closest today taking out my "fat" clothes! I'm getting rid of them. But whil I was annaly reorganizing my shirts, sweat shirts and such I decided to make a group of clothes to take with me to WDW in Nov. So I put the sweat shirts I wanted, the t-shirts I wanted, and the shorts I wanted all in one section of my cabinet so they will be there when I go to pack in 60 some days!! I also put the purse i carry which has my eye glass strap and my wrist bands for motion sickness. I'm half packed already!!

Gonna go fix a bath for the boys. They are a little stinky today!! Back later!
tara

Hi y'all! Kind of busy day and in a while I'll have to give Cleo her meds then head back to church.

We did get some shopping in after early mass and lunch. Found new shoes for me (Sketchers on sale) and a winter coat (down) since they were about half off right now. So new white shoes w/ a hint of blue and a winter white coat... couldn't find ones that I liked that were wool that fit :(

Nancy, I would guess people were sleeping in or good and at church :teeth: And I guess if I win the monorail, I can just visit you a lot so I can play with it :p

Woo hoo, Paula!!! Enjoy the trip tomorrow!!!!! Sinuses are better today, but I am being a bit better about taking my benadryl in the first place ;)

I will disagree completely with Karen though... I hate fanny packs, as they really hurt my lower back. I prefer shoulder & mini backpacks to that. No way I could handle a fanny pack now (just something to think about with the tailbone thing)

Tara, if you go tonight, have fun!!! I guess I never worry about pics much since I bring my laptop along with me. Just upload the pics there and I will burn a CD right before I leave :) Very cool you got some packing done! I always do a litle of that once I am done iwth my summer clothes. Just wash & pack them :)

I should get moving... maybe tomorrow I can relax some :p

Whoofreakinghooo!!! Paula is headed for WDW tomorrow for a most WONDERFUL and MAGICAL trip!!!! You'll have a blast, I'm sure! And it sounds like you done really good with Alyssa--the card she sent was such a sweet gesture and I love that she is sending the quotes back and forth with you. Sooo fun and what a great way to stay in touch.

Next time I need to go clothes shopping, I'm calling you, Elaine! You manage to find so many good deals all the time!! I'm having trouble figuring out how a fanny pack hurts your back. I don't like them because they emphasize how much I already stick out :guilty: It's the backpacks and the shoulder bags that make my back hurt. But, to each his own--you and I are not exactly built alike, so it stands to reason that we would carry things differently. It's definitely a personal judgement/comfort thing.

Way to go, Tara, on getting half packed, already!! Dontcha love clearing out all the "fat" clothes?! You should be sooo proud of yourself to have "ungrown" out of them!! Got them boys of yours all squeaky clean, now? And is the bathroom awash?!! LOL!!!

Wishing you and your mom all the best, Suzanne. I am so glad she has you to lean on as she embarks on this difficult journey. Keeping those prayers going strong for both of you and all concerned.

Need to get a little more cleaning done tonight before I can hit the hay. Ya'll have a great rest of your evening and sleep well!! :grouphug:

Hi gang,

Beth...I am very glad to have "ungrown" my clothes!! I'm hoping to get rid of the rest of teh double digit clothes by next spring!! And the baby skipped out of his bath tonight. Jar took a shower so that he could watch Extreme Makeover. He has been a fan of Ty since he watched "spaces" when he was 2!! Ethan will get thrown in the shower tomorrow with either me or mom!!

Skippe dout on the party. Hope they didn't mind. I went to Food Lion and ordered pizza! Nice night home!

Off to finish watching tv and then headed to bed! Have a good night all!
tara

Hi all....I'm all packed - I decided to take my purse and I packed Chris' Disneyquest backpack.
If anything I can use that to take souviners home.

Did I mention I'm getting picked up at 4:30 tomorrow morning?????? Yikes- better sleep fast!!!

Hugs to all.......

Hi all... tired...

Howdy Nancy! Enjoy dinner!

Bethie, the fanny packs place pressure exactly where my lower back hurts. The weight in the front just yanks down where my back is awful. But that is because my extreme lower back hurts the most by placing more weight in the front than I need. Similar to why my upper back/shoulders hurt (big chest). A backpack only is good if it is more evenly distributed weight... but meh on all that... padding is the key for making a back not hurt. Of course this is also for lower pain... I also have upper pain due to other things... so either way I wind up very screwed ;)

Oh and feel free to shop with me anytime! I only really buy when I see good deals... I'm a bit cheap ;) So there are times I go out and come home empty handed :teeth:

Tara, I'm sure you'll be in single digits in no time at all! Good luck with that!

Paula, safe travels to you!!!! I hope your trip is wonderful!

I'm off to sleep! See y'all later :)

Evening, all.

We had a picture perfect day. It was like we took a different child! What would have caused meltdowns got some protest, but were easily redirected today. He got upset because he wanted to leave after his ride on El Rio Del Tiempo, but was satisfied with going and taking the friendship boat to Germany. He didn't want to ride Soarin', but when we promised that we would take him into Innoventions, he did it.

Woohoo, they all LOVED Soarin'. The innoventions trip wasn't ended with Neil pleading to stay longer, he left when I asked him if we were going to Mousegears. At that point, he asked to look at Pin Central, found a stitch pin he really liked and asked ever so politely for it-so I bought it for him. I'm not worrying about what the medications mean-I'm just happy to have a little man who seems much happier.

Last time I went to Epcot, it was with Jill while the family was in NY. I tried a kaki gori for the first time and I loved it, so of course I had to have one today. Ed and kevin got their frozen confections at future world, Neil got a strawberry bar outside the American adventure, so of course, when I got my Kaki gori, they all had to try some-it was as if I had a family of vultures :rotfl:

All in all, a good stress-free day. We needed it.

Suzanne
Oh yeah, found the stitch devil toppers, but not Minnie. Am I right in that I got Nancy one, Bethie one and Liz two? Anyone else?
