Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

Sunday QOTD- Do you have a more challenging time of day as far as eating goes? What can you do to make it easier?

I would have to say from the time I get home at 3:30 until dinner time. I find I really need to keep busy so that I don't eat everything in the house.

Hi everyone. First weekend of the show is over and I get a couple of days of rest. The show is going well. There were a few problems this afternoon which is a shame. There was a judge from one of the competitions they enter in the audience. There were 2 technical problems in the beginning and a big costume problem in the curtain call. Two of the guys switched jackets and put on the wrong ones. For one guy it was okay since the other guy was so much bigger than him but for the other it did look silly. There will be another judging sometime next weekend.

Diet and exercise gets kicked into high gear tomorrow. I am also in a BL contest at school for money. It ends the week after this one does.

Have a great evening. Good luck everyone on the east coast with the snow coming. I will believe it when I see it. Too many people counting on a snow day. Myself included.

Julie, goldcupmom, I on the exercise thread that your DD finally has a diagnosis! PD that healing happens and the ER trips are done with now.

QotD: Do you have a more challenging time of day as far as eating goes? What can you do to make it easier? Always after dinner and around 7:00 p.m. That time has been dessert time since we've been kids. DH's family too so it has continued into our 32 years of marriage. I try to find something to do, if I can be active and get through that time, I can usually manage ok. Some days though...

Sunday QOTD- Do you have a more challenging time of day as far as eating goes? What can you do to make it easier?

For me - its definately late in the afternoon - before dinner when I'm starving. Especially if I'm not going to get to eat on time.

Today went well at the cheer competition. I actually ate dinner before we went to the competition. We left our house about 12:20pm. I had dried edamame and an apple as a snack. The competition didn't end till 6pm an we did not get home till 6pm. DH grabbed a pizza, but when I got home I made a clean pizza instead (ezekiel tortilla, grilled chicken, spinach, asparagus, feta cheese and parmesean cheese). My pizza was so good - it filled me up and didn't make me go over my calorie range like the regular pizza DH got would have. YEAH ME- Not only was my entire weekend within my calorie range it was totally clean and healthy! YEAH!:woohoo:

Vija - So sorry I missed your post. What a day.

Julie - you got a diagnosis. Wonderful. I'm going to go find the post.

Sunday QOTD- Do you have a more challenging time of day as far as eating goes? What can you do to make it easier?

Oh, good question! My dreaded time of day is between when I come home from work and when dinner is ready. I am usually tired and hungry and so is everyone else in the house! I make it easier by having some veggies cut up and ready to go that I can snack on. That way I can snack on something healthy instead of something out of the pantry. It helps that the not so healthy snacks are pretty much out of the house now, too.
Having veggies available is a great idea.

Glad the show is going well. They cancelled school here last night before it had started snowing, so I figured the snow wouldn't be too bad, but looks like there's about 6 inches out there already. I guess my exercise today will be shovelling. Hope you didn't get too much.

When we are at a family party, I try to get busy with the kids and stay away from the food too. That is always helpful.

:thumbsup2 That pizza sounds so good. Do you notice that you feel much better eating clean, with no processed foods or chemicals? It's a big undertaking, you should be proud.

Hope everyone has a nice monday, and if you're in the snowy area, happy shovelling.

Monday QOTD- What is your favorite season? What time of year do you find it easier to be healthier?

I love fall the best. I love the brisk fall evenings, and watching the leaves change. I find it easier to be healthier in spring and fall. In spring, which hopefully will be here soon, it's so nice when the days are longer and it's light after work, I get outside more and play ball with my son or walk to the park. Fall I'm more active than summer because it's cooling down after the heat of summer. Eating wise, I think all the fresh fruits and vegies of late summer and early fall are so good, it's easier to eat healthier.

I like spring summer and fall. Spring and fall the weather is nice. Spring could be a problem for me since by the time I get home a sea brezze makes it a lot cooler here.IN summer I like to work out early in the morning when it is still cool.

We have almost 10 inches of snow here. I teach in a school district that is spread out almost 50 sq miles. I don't know if we will have school tomorrow. With all this snow they have a hard time cleaning the streets out there. It has been a great morning. I did wake up early but I did doze off back to sleep. We haven't shoveled yet. Dh just got his truck and went out to get a newspaper.

HAve a great day everyone.

Tom Hanks is one of my favorite actors. During May in my school many of the seniors are in and out of classes because they are taking Advanced Placement tests. I call the week the Tom Hanks festival. I show Appllo 13 to talk about problem solving and the history class watches Forrest Gump.

:goodvibes

I'm glad to hear everyone likes Mama Mia so much. It is one of the first two movies I have coming. It and Nights in Rodanthe. (can you tell I did the movie picking this time!):goodvibes I have read Nights in Rodanthe. It was really a good book, so I'm sure the movie will be good too. I was on a Nickolas Sparks kick a few months back and read several of his books. He is a good writer, but his books have a tendency to be sad. After reading about 4 or 5 of them, I think I've had enough of his books for a while. I missed the QOTD last week when everyone told what they were reading, but I haven't read a book this year. I have been thinking of picking up my daughter's Twilight book and checking it out. She of course, thinks it is the best ever! What do you guys think, should I read the book before I watch the movie? Or should I wait and see the movie when it comes out on dvd soon, and then read the book? I know we have some Twilight lovers out there!

One of the only books that I liked that I gave away instead of keeping for re-reading was a Nicholas Sparks that ended badly...:sad2:

hello everyone! i have returned from a weekend at an indoor waterpark with DD's youthgroup. today i'm printing out my workout 'training' program for the next 1/2 marathon i registered for. my weight was up just a little Friday

for the month of march DH and I have made a pact to lose so our jeans fit again :) it's about 10 lbs for me

QOTD -- i love fall with the crisp air and leaves changing. however Ohio seems to skip over fall anymore. I would say losing weight is easiest for me in the Spring as i'm gung-ho to get out and work in the yard and such. Summer is usually hard for me with vacations, visit with familiy, and general running around with my DDs

I'm behind in answering QOTD, so I'll just jump back in with todays.

Monday QOTD- What is your favorite season? What time of year do you find it easier to be healthier?

I like spring. After all the winter, the first part of spring is when the whole family is eager to get doing things outside. And once the snow goes away, there's the first raking of the yard, and cleaning things up which is great exercise and so satisfying.:goodvibes

Monday QOTD- What is your favorite season? What time of year do you find it easier to be healthier?

I think I like Spring the best because I really enjoy the new signs of life. I think spring/summer/fall is easiest to be healthier because you can be outside more. When its cold, I really have a hard time because I want to be like a slug and be under the covers.

Today I'm working from home due to the snow. I am behind on meals, I've only eaten breakfast - so I have to go down and make e lunch. I'm really looking foward to haveing a loss this week.

Hello everyone! Just got caught up with the thread (again!), realized I missed Friday's weigh-in (again)...but am now back from FL trips for a while - my dad's stomach has been removed and hopefully they got his cancer, my mom should be out of the rehab place in a week or two (knee replacement)...now to get some control back in my life. Seriously, I think I'm going to buy some frozen WW or something for a week, has anyone done that? DH wants to do it. I can't exercise much due to a stress fracture on my foot, but I think I can do our bowflex and maybe row...trying to get a little creative...

Jennifer, You are going to have to let me know what you can or cannot do with the stress fracture. I am probably doing a bunion surgery this summer and I am curious.

I buy the WW frozen individual meals for work lunches (also have tried Lean Cuisine and a couple other brands). They are tasty, healthy, and I just add fruit and raw veggies to fill me up.

I think it sounds like a great idea to take a week off from cooking and use the frozen meals. You've been under a lot of stress and anything to help you get back on track is worth it.

The only thing, to be careful of is how much salt you get from the pre-made foods if you are going to be eating a lot of them.

Hello everyone. I'm slinking back to the thread after taking two weeks off. I keep on losing and gaining back the SAME LOUSY TWO POUNDS and it is making my crazy. I did send this week's weight but it was late. It was UP anyway *sigh*.

So ... I need my butt kicked a bit. For the people who are successful, are you using a specific plan?

Monday QOTD- What is your favorite season? What time of year do you find it easier to be healthier?
My favorite season is Summer. I love the hot weather and the sunny skies. I think it's easier for me to be healthier in the Spring. The snow and ice melts and I feel more motivated to get out and walk the dog.

Donac - will do, I'll post as things work or don't... :)

LuvBaloo - thanks for the info and you're right about the salt, I need to watch that! I am going to buy some meals tomorrow, get some structure in place while I also relax! :)

RobinB - I have no tips for you but I've been gone two weeks two - no slinking back! :) This will be a good week.

I was doing the same thing with the same two pounds. I think this week I'm going to be successful. I just had to crack the whip and not let things like eating out and cheer competitions get in my way. It felt good to end the week eating out twice and one competition being totally OP - YEAH ME!!

I do calories using Sparkpeople and the Eat Clean Diet. The eat clean diet isn't for everyone though, its all fresh healthy foods and pretty much no processed foods. Its very hard to do because you pretty much have to learn how to not eat any packaged foods and eating out is really hard, lol.
