I lost 2.2 pounds this week -
Can you tell I'm happy!
Congrat's on everyone's losses - Those are some awesome numbers!
Friday's Question of the Day: What is one positive change you made the first week of the challenge?
Wow- Just one? Hmm - The one biggest would be logging all my calories so I knew if I was doing good or not, and would know when to quit or eat more to stay within my calorie range.
Overall there were many - I got BACK into that BIG old Wagon!, drank more water, logged my calories, exercised once (hey - its better than the week before, lol), packed my lunches and snacks for work.
Another huge thing is that even though I ate over 500 calories of Godiva chocolates on Monday, I worked them into my calorie range and I still lost 2.2 pounds this week. It proves, its all about working it into your calorie's or points or whatever you are doing and moving on. It's about moderation, not beating yourself up and learning to make this a lifestyle change. There will be chocolates from time to time, maybe even a box of them. But we can do this.
Another thing I've noticed is......Food tastes better and I feel better when I don't overeat. When I'm not in that wagon it is like I'm eating because I know I will be dieting soon and I want to taste the things I can't have. But I can have those things, I just can't eat the whole box. I enjoy eating healthier foods, and having the bad stuff in smaller amounts and really enjoying them when I do have them. When I'm out of control and not watching what I eat I feel yucky. I feel full and bloated. When I'm eating healthier and watching my portions, I don't feel full and bloated. When I get a twinge of hunger it feels good to feel that twinge and to make a consious decision on whether I can go the night with the that twinge or if I should give it a small snack. I really think that most people don't experience what hunger feels like. They (and myself included when I'm off the wagon and out of control) eat whether they are full or not, or they eat to never feel hungry. Allowing yourself to feel the hunger allows you to get in touch with yourself.
My goal for this week is - Increase my water for the COW (dang I forgot water today), allow myself to feel the hunger and learn to notice the cues (I'm going to try rating my hunger and make sure I don't eat just to eat), although I do have to make sure I get enough calories. And the biggie - I will INCREASE my exercise this week. One 35 minute walk was not long enough.
Ok - enough of my book writing. Bring on week 2! We rock!
