Welcome show

Someone posted in one of other Disney groups on Facebook, that they have went at rope drop to see the welcome show for the last two days and it has not happened. They said they asked a cast member and the cast member told them they were not having it anymore because of "budget cuts." I find this odd because it's on the schedule. Does anyone know anything?

I saw a post on here earlier today that made a comment about it not happening on the day that poster was at MK - believe they were referencing a day last week. I cannot find the post to quote it here though.

I really hope that is not truly the case, I love the Welcome Show!

This is a pretty big deal if true. My family really enjoyed the Welcome Show. Can any one provide confirmation that this show is going away?

I saw the welcome show on Saturday 2/20. I heard they didn't do it Monday 2/22 or Tuesday 2/23.
I read in a Facebook post that this week they are doing track work and not having the show. Hopefully it is just a few days?

There had been info that the train station was undergoing a refurb.

There is a DVC event going on in MK right now and the train station will be used for the goodbyes from the characters when the event ends. So, that means it's not the building being refurbed and work on the track seems plausible.
