While the DIS is full of wonderful information and great Disney travel planning boards, THIS board is the best of all! Everyone here is extremely friendly and very down to earth (no pun intended)! Hope to see you around often!
Hi everyone. Thank you so much for the welcome. My SIL Noodles told me about this forum. I am hooked on plants. Our first house was brand new with no yard or garden so that is where I got my start. I also inherited a ton of dahlia tubers so I am definitely into them. I LOVE roses but am not very good at growing them. Always fighting blackspot here in the NW. I'm not very good at visual placement, form and all that junk. I just stick plants in the ground and give it a year. If it doesn't look good or grow well then I move it or pitch it. We just moved last year to a different house with an already finished landscape. We are on 1/3 acre about 15 miles north of Seattle, zone 8. So far I've pulled out an enormous camelia to put in a cottage garden in the front, planted a rose garden and a shade garden. I'll take pictures when things get really established and post them.
I forgot...We just got back from Disneyland. We stayed at Disneyland Hotel and had an awesome time. We've been to Disneyland 5 times and in Oct. 98 we went to Disney World. I can't wait to go back.
Thanks for filling us in about your garden marydmjj! I love roses too, but have only managed to grow one nice rose bush. The plastic ones I had before that always looked good though!!
A lot of the Buds have trouble with the visual planning aspect. You might want to click on the following link, to read a funny thread about it.
Welcome Marydmjj to the garden board. You found the right place if you love Disney and gardening. Hope to hear more about your roses. One of my many passions
Oh and I'm a plopper too.
Actually I'm a procrastinating plopper
