We bought direct points in Oct. 2019 at Rivera and originally had a trip planned for this week at OKW. But due to Covid-19 we are focused to push this first visit until June 2021. There will be 10 people on our trip 2 children (8,16), 5 adults (18, 25, 33, 43, 50) and 3 seniors (74, 79, 82). We are planning to rent 2 rooms a 2 bedroom and a studio. I am wondering where to stay to maximize my welcome home visit. I am leaning towards trying to get BLT with theme park view for 2 nights and thinking maybe AKL or BCV or BWV. Since we haven't stayed in any of these resorts I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions. I am trying to balance giving our parents a great experience but also making sure the kids and grand kids have a great time. Thanks in advance. This is my very first post so I hope it's not out of line.

There was someone who mentioned awhile back that people whose Welcome Home Visit was canceled would not get another one.

It is typically for new owners as they learn the system, and are buying and want a stay within the 7 month mark.

You are now able to secure RIV at 11 months on your own.

What's a "Welcome Home Visit?" I've never heard that term before. Are we talking about when your guide helps you book that first "special" trip while you're still there or a day or two afterwards?

It is generally booked for a new direct buyer for a trip within 6 months of purchase.

Book your home resort at 11 months out. Then see what is left at seven months out. I'd book one resort instead of doing a split stay, especially with your older guests. If they are the afternoon napping types or like to just sit in the afternoon, they will be homeless on your change day. You have until 2042 to book BCV and BWV.
