Welcome Home Update?

Just spoke with DVC CM and he mentioned a welcome home update sales pitch thing at Disney Springs. Said it’s about 30-45 minutes with free drinks/snacks and a gift for attending.

Can’t find much info online about this. Has anyone gone?

I purchased resale last year (from UK seller) but I’m still eligible to attended these types of events, correct?

I did this in October. As others have said, free soft drinks, chips, cookies, you get to see the lounge (I was curious), and they have a Riviera model room. I was interested in finding new information about upcoming resorts, but sadly, that wasn't the case. It wasn't a heavy sales pitch, and the gift was a small DVC backpack. I have a combination of resale and direct points, and the sales person called me at home a couple of weeks before my trip.

At disneyland this month its the reindeer Pluto shoulder plush. No snacks or drinks. You can ask for the magic band sliders at the desk after the presentation. Its half an hour long and basically just watching an advertisement. No questions were allowed to be asked.

They never have sliders at WDW when we go, they're a hot commodity. Are they more plentiful at DL?

I think DL has only been recent. I didn’t even get any in October. I started seeing them being given at then holidays.

I think so because ive never seen them at wdw either. And you have to ask for them if it wasnt for the boards i wouldnt know about them, they dont give them out freely

I haven’t seen them for a few years. Also haven’t seen AP ones for a long time either.

Last time we were there the CM said people ask for sliders all the time so its not like they don't know people want them.

Think Sliders are shipped with the Chapstick. That’s been out of stock more now too.

They're also super anal about how many of those Plutos you get. They only wanted us to have one. My wife has her own membership without me so I said we are entitled to two. They were looking her up in the computer and taking forever not being able to find her other membership for whatever reason I told her to forget it, its not that serious, but then they found it

When they did the "holiday open house" at VDH, they had a bowl of the sliders and bowl of the ornaments. They were giving them out to attendees and asking VDH members that were walking by if they wanted one. I probably could have gotten several of each, but just grabbed one each for myself and my husband. So if you can get to an open house (which is different than the member update) then there seems to be a little swag there too.

Yeah, they're that way with the backpacks... just give one to everybody, like how they do on DCL...

On DCL they used to be kinder and give them out for anyone in the family, but in recent years I've noticed they've shifted to one gift per member, and no extras for the kids...

I agree of everyone went to the presentation, everyone should get one, it comes across as cheap lol
