Welcome Home Surprise Suggestions??

It will be our family's first time to come "home" to Disney in June. We will start at BWV and then to SSR (which is our official home resort). I would love to have something waiting in the room to surprise DH and the kids DD 20, DS 16, and DD 4. We will already be getting a cake since it will be the 20 yr. old's b-day just days before we come.

Any tried and true ideas or any suggestions??

How about a basket with matching shirts and a some balloons?

I like the shirt idea...also, you could put beach towels from the resort in the basket. The towels are very thick and have embroidered logos from the resort on them. My husband also enjoys the DVC Member coffee mug he bought on our first stay as owners. Lots of cool stuff in the gift shop at the DVC resorts. You can call the shops directly and discuss what you would like and they can deliver it to your room.

Do the gift shops have resort specific items in them? Also, if they do, can you get any of the resorts at the same gift shop? For instance, if I wanted a shirt or beach towel form each of the resorts, would I have to call each of those resorts gift shops or would they be available all at one place?

I think each resort has their specific resort items, along with generic "DVC Member" items. I don't know how accomodating the resorts are about getting items from other resorts. Unless they have some sort of shipping between resorts, kind of like when you buy at the park and they ship it back to your resort. Guess it wouldn't hurt to call and find out.
