We joined the DVC last May and will be making our first trip home this May to the BCV. I have been looking forward to a 'Welcome Home' for the last 12 months. My question is do they really say it when you check in. Sorry for the silly question.

I haven't gone yet but from what I have read on the board they do most of the time. Some have come back dissappointed that they did not hear it. We are having our first trip in NOv and I hope we hear it :)

We got a "Welcome Home" when we checked into VWL two weeks ago; plus several times the security officer said "Welcome Home" as we drove into WL. That was especially nice as you came home late after a full day at the parks.

Almost always when you check in. Most of the time at security and sometimes other places. It really depends on the day I guess. When we stay at OKW and drive to the store or where ever and we come back you get the Welcome Home again. It is fun and it is a good way to get you in the feeling of Disney right from the get go. Have fun on your trip.

Have been enjoying many "welcome homes" since 2002! Once a trainee at BCV front desk almost forgot to say it....her mentor that was standing behind her snuck it in for her ::yes::

if you give them the confirmation letter from DVC - yes you will get a welcome home!!!

however even if no one welcome you home - the TV will!!!!

the security guard will if you have the DVC tag on the front of your car.

You bet! At OKW, we always get "Welcome homes" at the guard shack and at the desk.

On our first vacation Home we did receive a Welcome Home at OKW. This Vacation At the Wilderness Lodge Villa's we did not. The whole 5 days we were vacationing there, not one person Welcomed us home. And I have a DVC jacket, so you think one person would say it. I was quite disappointed. You look forward to hearing it.

OKW, being the original DVC resort, has 'Welcome Home' coded into the genes of the CM's. :cool2:

As I've posted before, our stay at BCV last May with our BCV owning friends we were disappointed by the 'average' reception...no welcome home from the front desk (which, btw, is the hotel's front desk and BCV is really just an add-on to the hotel IMNSHO) and a potentially disparaging remark by the valets [depending on one's mood] to the effect of 'oh no, you must be DVCers' when a Suburban pulled in full of people and full of supplies. Hopefully over the past year the 'Welcome Home' gene has been spliced into the CM's at BCV more completely. :cool2:

It's somewhat corny, and anywhere else it would feel weird, but at DVC it's just nice to hear a 'Welcome Home'.

even at BCV I got the "welcome home" - as I say my car has the DVC tag on the FRONT - so all the security guards see it.

I always given the front desk my confirmation letter and that gets me another "welcome home."

and at BC you get welcome by the doorman - no matter if you are a DVC member or not.

Was he not there?

John, Lesley and Sam - I have a very common name (there are alot of us!) - so I always take my confirmation letter. Just to cut down on the confusion - besides it really seems to help the CM find my reservation alot faster.

Hi,

When we went in October 2003 to HH, we got a welcome home!
