Welcome Home-Our 1st DVC Trip Link to TR pg 53

We are lucky to have a less than two hour flight, so it worked nicely.

We did a Thanksgiving week trip a couple of years ago, and that was very nice. There was no tugging from family to family for anyone on 'the day'. They just told everyone else they would have to do Thanksgiving early or late, because they were going to Disney World. I was pretty happy with having Chef Mickey prepare the Thanksgiving Day mess and clean it up for me, too. :thumbsup2

I am going to be seeking out a new laptop soon. What did you get, and what made you choose it?

Less than 2 hours would be great! A Thanksgiving trip would be fun as well. yay for Chef Mickey!!

I got an HP with a 17 inch screen from Staples. Had a $50 off coupon and it came with a $50 rebate so it was less than $500. Price was a big thing and I wanted a wider screen.

Enjoyed the pics of the studio at SSR. I can see that it might get a little tight if your kids were older.

Uhmmm, going to a DIS meet? That sounds like fun. Can't wait to hear about it! ;)

Thaks to AllEars LOL. It was nice but I am now ready to be spoiled. You are so funny. I don't have a pic of you though...

Too cute that C kept saying "Welcome Home" throughout the trip--love it! Can't wait to hear about the DIS meet.

Oh yeah, one of the best moments was when we were swimming with Leanne and family at Kidani. Her Hubby Joe was harassing Cayley is the water-he swam away from her and she yelled "Hey Joe, Welcome Home" It was a riot. She also yelled it to all the DVC booth people at the parks.

So, glad to hear you did not have an elephant problem! I always request top floor and so far we have been lucky enough...although first floor close to transportation , quiet pool, and playground (which we have yet to find on any of our stays--they are always on the opposite side of the resort) sounds like a good location. It looks to be a very nice room and yes, I can see when the girls get a few years older how it would seem tight...but, you are staying in a 1 BD BEAUTY for Christmas...how lucky are you!:goodvibes
:wave2: Connie

joining in, although a bit late! You are off to a great start... love the tshirts your girls were wearing:goodvibes

Welcome Lady!! It was so great to meet you and your perfect hair! Wish we could have seen Mama and Hunter-it was so hot though. hope the rest of ur trip was great!!

The Dis meet was fun even if it was fairly short and sweat.....I mean sweet. Man, it was hotter than heck that day. You are kidding about the perfect hair right? It felt like it was all over the place with the humidity. After that day, I had my hair in a ponytail and had on a ballcap. There was no way my Mama could have made it over to the meet with it being so hot. She would have pooped out mid-way there.

Now, let's talk about your trip so far. The girls looked like they were ready to get on the plane and off to Disney. Soooo cute.

Your room was very pretty but I can see how it might become a little on the smallish side as the girls grow older.

Great update Mary! We stayed at SSR last summer in The Grandstand and we loved it!! It's such a bright and cheery resorts....we loved it!! Oops I think I might have mentioned that already:lmao:

Love that C spent the whole trip saying, "Welcome home" -- too cute!

Every time I see pictures of SSR, I think the rooms are so pretty!

Nothing worse than people stomping around upstairs. We never did use the playground or quiet pool:rolleyes1 I am very lucky!

It is a nice resort, Spread out but nice. i spy a new AK ticker. According to my calculations and I am blonde, that would be mid Aug of 2011 right? If so, I am so sad :sad2: Thats right when school starts here and Cayley will be starting kindergarten. I was hoping for May or Oct......

I'm here! Just read the whole thing...:thumbsup2

I can't wait to hear more about your trip.

I was fun meeting you in Epcot! I remember us commenting on Lisa's hair! :goodvibes I sure felt a bit melted that day...

Yes Mary, we're looking at Aug 16 to arrive....it was the time that worked best for my sis and her family, however, having said that, I don't have my holidays booked yet and there is the possibility that I can't get those 3 weeks. The plan right now is 2 weeks at AKL with my sis and her family then Jasmine and I would stay another week at Music with free dining.

If I can't get those weeks Jasmine and I would come end of Sep or Oct...:cool1:

I understand and I will hope that you get the time off for your holiday with your sister. But i will also hope that maybe it gets pushed back a little so we can meet. There are many of us planning to do a 5k the first weekend of Oct.

I hope to update tonight but first I must venture to the public pool for a playdate. Oh joy!:scared1::rolleyes1

Have fun at the pool! Joe got our pool going and water samples tested good on Monday afternoon. Yesterday he texted me pictures of them swimming while I was working. I have a word for him but it would be censored out. :lmao:
