Welcome, Foolish Mortals...to an October 2011 PTR! *Trip Report link is up, pg 71!!*

Whoa, definitely a packed day! I definitely think you should keep the AP reservation! You'll need a nice, relaxing meal after all of those parks!

YAY for hitting your 10lb mark!! that is so awesome!! :cool1: I have always struggled with my weight, so I know how awesome it must be to hit your goal and I cant wait to see what you get!! :goodvibes

Sounds like a crazy and really fun day you have planned...I am excited to hear about AP as well, I have a feeling its one of those hidden gems that I dont hear a lot about :thumbsup2

When you are walking up to the entrance of DHS from the parking lot and the entrance to DHS is to your left, look to your right and the boat dock is over in the right corner. I think it will jump out to you when you look over to the lake :goodvibes Its a nice relaxing ride

Love your Day 3 plans. I have no idea where the boat dock at DHS is, either! I've never taken a boat there, before, so you'll have to tell me how it is.
I agree that waiting more than 30 minutes for TSM is not worth it. You can use that time riding ToT and RNRC, instead! :rotfl:

Did you decide on two MNSSHPs? I think starting off the first night with a party and dinner at LLT sounds great.

I believe that Day 3 is going to be the 40th anniversary at MK. Do you know if they are doing anything special that night? I can't decide whether I want to go that night, because it's the 40th anniversary or if it'll be too crowded to be any fun.

Sounds like a great Day 3! I keep hearing good things about AP. And that drink in France sounds like a perfect way to start the day! I wonder if they'll do anything special for the 40th anniversary that night?

And congrats on the weight loss!

Congrats on 11 pounds! You must feel awesome!

Can't believe the trip is coming up. Couldn't come soon enough, right?

Looks great Jen! We took the boat from DHS to Epcot on our last trip. We just kind of stumbled upon the boat dock. It took awhile to get there but it was cool.

Congrats on hitting your 10 lb. weight loss! :cool1::cool1: I need to get my lazy butt in gear! ;)

Your Day 3 plans look like so much fun. I was exhausted just reading them with all the park hopping.

I don't think it's ever too early to start the day with a drink! :) It is vacation after all!

I'm going to start by answering the most important question in your update.

It is never, I repeat NEVER, too early to drink on vacation. Especially in Epcot where it's so readily available.

Dang skippy. ;)

Exactly....it gets rather hot at 11am in Florida... and if a nice cooling icy drink just happens to have alcohol in it?.....

....EVEN BETTER!:lmao:

Your third day looks like a blast! :yay:

Thanks! I think so too! :thumbsup2

Wow that's going to be a crazy fun day! I think it will be a good day to see Wishes. Maybe they'll do something special for the 40th anniversary. I still haven't decided what we're going to do on Oct 1. We might end up park hopping a lot too.

I'm hoping they do something special for the 40th anniversary, more fireworks or something! If not, I don't mind though, I just need to see Wishes early in my trip!

Congrats on hitting 10 pounds - and passing it!!! :cheer2: I can't wait to see what you're buying yourself!

Day 3 sounds fun! I'd like to attempt 3 parks in one day - I've never done that before! I've never taken the boat over to DHS, either. I'd like to try that sometime, too!

Thanks! I'm going to do a shopping update either tonight or tomorrow, so you guys can see my present to myself!

3 parks in one day is crazy...but I'm not really too worried about it, since we're only going to MK for Wishes. This is why I love to park hop, spend a few hours in one park, hop to another one, and then another one! I could never be one of those people who spends and entire day in one park! :rotfl:

Congrats on passing 10 lbs!!

The dock at DHS is down a path off to the right of the main gates (when looking from the boat). It's not too far away, that's my favorite way to get to DHS! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Actually, now that you mention it, I think I have seen the DHS dock...but I could be wrong! I can't wait go to DHS by boat! :cool1:

Jen, congrats on the 10 pounds...that is awesome.

Day 3 plans look great. Love me a drink from France. :thumbsup2

Thanks! And thanks again, I love those adult slushies! :lovestruc

Wow 3 parks in one day - yeehaw! Should be fun. 11am is definitely NOT too early for a drink when you're on vacation :teeth: Which reminds me I must try a Grey Goose Slushie when I'm there next time. The dock for DHS is off to the right of the entrance gates. It's pretty hidden if you aren't actually looking for it. I'm excited to hear what you think of Artist's Point. I've always wanted to eat there

I know, 3 parks in one day is kind of insane, but we're used to it, I'm kind of a crazy park hopper at first! I settle down once we're there for a few days! :rotfl:

Mmmm, definitely try a Grey Goose Slushie, they are so good! :thumbsup2 I'm so excited for AP, I have a feeling we're going to love it!

Your day three plans look awesome! I can't wait to hear your review on AP! I've never been there but I'm thinking about it for next year....

Congrats on your 11lbs!!!! I'm so, truly, happy for you! I'm soo off the bandwagon, it's really sad! I just got the new WW books so I'm getting back on track on Monday. I have a little less than a year...I just need more willpower (and for every fast food place in CT to just drop off the face of the earth!)

I can't wait for AP, it's my first signature restaurant, so I'm really excited, and it's so nice that it's right in our resort! :thumbsup2

LOL, I know what you mean, I had Burger King for the first time since I started WW this weekend, and it was just SO good! And so bad, at the same time! I really want to try the new WW program, but I don't want to go to the meetings! Maybe I'll just go to the first week so I can get the book that explains everything! :rotfl:

I'm going to start by answering the most important question in your update.

It is never, I repeat NEVER, too early to drink on vacation. Especially in Epcot where it's so readily available.

Dang skippy. ;)

Agreed! Although, I'm not much of a drinker, but I like the idea of having an adult slushie at 11:00 in the morning, just because I can! :thumbsup2

YAY :cool1: Congratulations on losing 10 pounds!!!

The dock at DHS is to the left when you exit. If you go right you go to the bus stops. We've taken it a few times. Make sure you aren't racing time when you get on because it makes a few pit stops first. :thumbsup2

Sounds like Day 3 is going to be super fun-filled!!!

Thanks!

LOL, yeah, I kind of figured the boat takes a while! When i took the boat from POR to DTD last year, it seemed like it took forever!

Congrats on the 10+lbs!! That is so exciting. I can't wait to see what you buy for yourself. :yay:

Artist Point was very good last September, I didn't care for the soup but Marc loved it. I think the color of it messed with my head. :rotfl2: I can't remember what Marc had, I will have to ask him but it was one of his favorite things of the trip.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I'm definitely going to be skipping that soup, I don't like mushrooms at all, but Brandon loves them, so he'll probably order like, 3 bowls of it! :rotfl2: I think everything else looks so good on the menu, I can't wait to go there!

:woohoo: on reaching the 10lb mark and yay on losing even more then that!! :dance3: Can't wait to see what it is you have purchased.

I can't wait to visit Epcot, ride Soarin and TT as well as explore all the beautiful countries. Your plans sound great and no it is never too early to have a drink on vacation!

I hope you guys keep AP and get to eat here - like you have heard nothing but good things for it. Ending the day with Wishes sounds great! :thumbsup2

Thanks!

I can't wait to be at Epcot either! 73 more days! :rotfl:

I'm definitely keeping AP, after all I went through to fit it in a few months ago, there's no way I could cancel it now! I love ending a day with Wishes, it's the perfect end to a day in Disney World! :lovestruc

Congrats on reaching the 10lb mark, well done :) Can't wait to see what you have treated yourself to :)

Your Day 3 plans sound good, hope you enjoy AP, looks like an awesome restaurant :)

Thanks! I think you're all going to like my little present to myself! :rotfl:

I can't wait to try AP!!! :)

Whoa, definitely a packed day! I definitely think you should keep the AP reservation! You'll need a nice, relaxing meal after all of those parks!

We're definitely going to keep AP, you're right, it will be nice to have a relaxing meal after the crazy morning and afternoon we're going to have! And then ending with Wishes is going to make it even more perfect! :cool1:

YAY for hitting your 10lb mark!! that is so awesome!! :cool1: I have always struggled with my weight, so I know how awesome it must be to hit your goal and I cant wait to see what you get!! :goodvibes

Sounds like a crazy and really fun day you have planned...I am excited to hear about AP as well, I have a feeling its one of those hidden gems that I dont hear a lot about :thumbsup2

Thanks! It took a while to get to 10 pounds, but I finally did it!

I didn't hear a lot about AP at first either, but it seems like everyone who goes there loves it! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to take the boat to DHS! I love that you can look forward to little things like a boat ride at Disney World, and they seem so exciting! :)

:rotfl:

Thanks!

I love TSM, but I can't stand waiting in lines, I don't know how people wait like 90 minutes for it! :confused3 Maybe we'll get lucky that night and the line will be short! If not, I'll be at ToT, like you said!

As of now, we are still doing 2 Halloween parties! I did not buy the tickets yet, I'm going to buy the ones for Friday soon, and I'll probably wait til the trip is a bit closer to buy the 2nd party tickets, just so I'm sure that we're doing 2!

I haven't heard anything about the 40th anniversary! :scared1: If they are doing something special, and it seems like MK will be really crowded, I might skip MK all together and watch Wishes from the Poly beach, that's the back up plan! Unless they are doing something crazy that I cannot miss!

Sounds like a great Day 3! I keep hearing good things about AP. And that drink in France sounds like a perfect way to start the day! I wonder if they'll do anything special for the 40th anniversary that night?

And congrats on the weight loss!

Thanks! I always hear such good things about AP, I can't wait to try it for myself!

I hope they are going to do something for the 40th, it seems like a pretty big deal! :)

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Congrats on 11 pounds! You must feel awesome!

Can't believe the trip is coming up. Couldn't come soon enough, right?

Thanks! Well, I'm happy I lost 11 pounds but...I don't feel any different! You can't tell at all that I lost weight yet. :confused3 Whatever, someday I suppose it will be noticeable!

No, my trip cannot come soon enough!!! I sooooo need a break, I'm having such a stressful time right now, with everything, I need some Disney magic! :cool1:

Awesome on hitting your 10lb mark! You go, girl! :thumbsup2

Thank you!! :goodvibes

Looks great Jen! We took the boat from DHS to Epcot on our last trip. We just kind of stumbled upon the boat dock. It took awhile to get there but it was cool.

Thanks! I'm excited to take the boat, I hope Brandon doesn't object, he wasn't too impressed with the boat from POR to DTD last year! :rotfl:

Congrats on hitting your 10 lb. weight loss! :cool1::cool1: I need to get my lazy butt in gear! ;)

Your Day 3 plans look like so much fun. I was exhausted just reading them with all the park hopping.

I don't think it's ever too early to start the day with a drink! :) It is vacation after all!

Thanks! LOL, it took me a loooong time to get my lazy butt moving! :rotfl:

I agree about the drink...I'll definitely be getting a slushie that morning! :thumbsup2

Exactly....it gets rather hot at 11am in Florida... and if a nice cooling icy drink just happens to have alcohol in it?.....

....EVEN BETTER!:lmao:

Exactly! :thumbsup2

Trip Shopping!

Hi guys! I have no time, but I wanted to do this quick update and show you the things I've been buying for my trip, plus the reward I bought myself for losing 10 pounds!

I went to Old Navy about a week ago, and they had this on clearance:

IMG_2647.jpg

I paid only $7 for it! I actually bought the same shirt for my sister a few months ago for her birthday. It's so cute, and I love that it's pink! :thumbsup2

I also picked up these 2 tees while I was at Old Navy

IMG_2649.jpg

I don't love them, but I can never have too many shirts for Disney, since I always seem to change in the middle of the day!

This I got at Kohl's a few weeks ago

IMG_2651.jpg

it's a swim suit cover up and I love it! I also got a new swim suit top, but I couldn't get a good picture of it! :confused3 I'm glad I have something cute to wear to the pool other than a huge tee shirt! :rotfl:

THIS was an impulse buy at the Disney store, that I had to have, even though I didn't think I'd find anything in there

I love it SOOOO much! I love the color, and I'm thinking of wearing to MNSSHP if I end up not dressing up! They have SO many new cute Disney shirts out right now, I want like 3 more!

And now...my "I lost 10 pounds" reward to myself

unnamed.jpg

A Vera Bradley hipster, in one of the new Fall colors, Safari Sunset! I love this pattern soooo much, I love the combination of purple and orange! I'm so excited to try a Hipster in Disney this year, after last year, I decided I needed something a little bigger than my Coach purse that I usually use. I'm not going to fill it up with a lot of stuff while we are there, so if I get sick of holding it, I'll still be able to stuff it in Brandon's backpack! :woohoo:

I'm sure I will be buying a few more things for our trip, I'm looking for a pair of shorts, even though I hate shorts, if it's hot, I'll need some, and I have to buy some yoga pants, because I like being comfy in the parks! But other than those things, and maybe one or two more Disney shirts, I'm good with clothes for our trip, I like to do laundry when we are down there, so I wear things more than once! I'm sure a lot of people don't like to do that on vacation, but I try to pack as light as possible, and I still end up stuffing my suitcase! :rolleyes1

Well, that's it for now, I'm hoping to get caught up on everyone's PTR's and TR's sometime this week, but I don't seem to have much time to DIS during the week! :( Hope everyone is having a great week so far! :) I'm getting so impatient for my trip, I'm ready to go! I'm listening to Mouse World radio right now on Live 365 and it's playing Space Mountain music and I soooo want to be there right now!!! 72 days!!!

(Edit-Sorry the pictures are so gigantic, I resized them in photobucket, but I guess it's not cooperating today!)

I LOVE your reward purchase!!! You are going to love the hipster for being in the parks. In my opinion, it is the perfect park bag. And that pattern is so pretty! That is going to look beautiful with all the fall decor! :thumbsup2

Yay for being 72 days away! I have 334!!! lol

I LOVE the shirts you got at Old Navy! I wish I could go clothes shopping but I just can't afford it since I'm the only one working right now. Your cover up is really cute too, and I LOVE your Vera Bradley bag! Beautiful colors!

And I agree with you about the Yoga pants...I have a pair I got from Old Navy last year and I wear them so much they're literally starting to fall apart. I went onto their website to try and order another pair or two, but of course they don't have any in my size. They're the capris style and so comfortable...I wish I bought more last year! If you find any like that, let me know where!

And I totally do laundry on vacation so I can wear at least my capris more than once....and I pack my suitcase to capacity with shirts because I never like what I put on the first time...I'll change my outfit 2 or 3 times before we even leave the room for the day!

So I officially started WW again yesterday (although without meetings...just tracking points on my own) and my Dad decided to treat us to dinner at Joey Garlics (I don't remember where in CT you are so you may not know what I'm talking about)...I think I went over by about 10 points. I did pretty well today though, but I didn't do my cardio and I really should have. Maybe tomorrow....:rolleyes1

:goodvibes Oh my gosh I LOVE LOVE LOVE that evil queen shirt, that is perfect for MNSSHP!!! I havent seen that one before either!

I like that Vera bag a lot, I might need to try one out for our trip potentially :goodvibes

Oh, oh, great purchases!

I love all of the shirts. You know, I bit the bullet and bought shorts, which I normally don't wear, for the trip I just got back from, and I am so happy that I did. It was so hot outside.
