Welcome, Foolish Mortals...to an October 2011 PTR! *Trip Report link is up, pg 71!!*

I'm SO happy we're staying at WL and have boat access, did you hear how they are not running the monorail during evening EMH's anymore? UGhhh, that frustrates me!

Yes, did hear about the monorails not running after EMHs - it takes away from the appeal of the monorail resorts and means ferries will be more busy. Hope it doesn't impact on your journey to/from the parks when EMHs are happening :goodvibes

Apparently the reasoning behind closing them early is to have more time at night to do repairs and maintenance. The monorails really need it and they're not getting it with the previous schedule.

I hadn't really thought about that. The park doesn't actually close down so the only time they could work on them would be at night. The way I look at it we can at least get TO the evening EMH via Monorail.... even if we have to take a bus back to the YC. As long as they don't stop running, we're fine.:goodvibes

Yeah... I'd read somewhere that the decision was made to just end service early rather than shutting the monorail down for a few months to do all the work that needs done :lmao: Can you imagine the hysteria if that was what they'd chosen to do?

Dunno... it does kind of make you wonder what is wrong with it!

Maybe I'm jaded because I use the Metro in Washington DC, half of which is always shut down for "repairs".... (ie: the escalator dropped and almost killed people so perhaps we should fix it.) They never do anything BEFORE it breaks!:scared1:

If Disney wants to take the proactive approach, I won't complain :)

:lmao: Yeah, I live in Chicago and take the CTA everywhere, so I'm used to hearing announcements about "being delayed because crews are working on the tracks ahead" and stuff like that. It's just part of life on the CTA and other major commuter rails. I'm just happy if it gets me there :rotfl:

I hope you reach your 10lb mark!!!

and I agree, cheesecake is acceptable for breakfast when your on vacation! or on any day that ends in 'Y' :rotfl2:

Thanks, me too! :thumbsup2

Haha...I totally agree with you about cheesecake for breakfast! Any time is a good time!

Hi! Thanks! Yay, keep me updated with how weight watchers is going for you! Do you like the new points system? I keep thinking I should join meetings, but I really like the old points system, so that's what I'm using for now! Are you doing any Halloween parties in September?

Thanks! I will keep you posted! I have weigh in tomorrow. I think I like the new points system yes lol..they fruit is Zero points now and most of the other points values have gone up but you get more for your daily points and your weekly points is now 49! so it seems to even out and I think I have lost this week, but don't quote me! I'll let ya know tomorrow. As for MNSSHP we are going to be there Tuesday 9-27.

I would like to try the new WW points system, but I'm so familiar with the old way. If for some reason, my weight loss slows down, I might rejoin meetings and try the new system, but for now, it seems like the old way is still working for me! :thumbsup2 How did you do on your weigh in this week?

Great plan! I love how all your plans revolve around what food/restaurants you want to eat/eat at! You might just be related to me!!! :lmao: I'm so glad you plan to eat a tye-dye cheesecake. We're staying at Pop again this trip and I cannot WAIT to eat one. I know I ate at least 2 our last trip. :rolleyes1 We also ate at LTT our last visit and whenever we go back during Thanksgiving or Christmas, we would definitely eat there again. It just felt like Christmas dinner to me. Turkey, dressing, sides, etc. My DH especially liked it and we enjoyed eating family style.

BTW, I KNOW you will get to your 10lbs this week (or really soon)!! Keep up the dedication. You can do it! :thumbsup2

Thanks! LOL, yeah, my DH loves to eat at Disney (ok, I'm not lying, I do too!) and I figure if we eat at really yummy places, he will want to keep coming back! I can't wait to try that cheesecake at Pop, it sounds soooo good! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you liked LTT, I think it's going to be really good, I love Thanksgiving food!

Thanks, I really hope I get to 10 pounds this week...if not, I'm going to have to start doing something drastically different, because I was SO good this week!

I'm going to join your PTR, I just keep forgetting! :rotfl2:

I had never heard about C25K, but it sounds like the perfect thing to get me back in shape before heading to Disney in 10 weeks! The only thing is that I'm not a runner, so we'll see how far I make it....:confused3

Yay on the weight loss!:thumbsup2 I managed to gain almost 20... so I am in BIG trouble right now.....:scared1:

I just read on your PTR that you're doing the C25K, good luck! I'm not a runner either and I got stuck on week 3...seriously could not run for 3 minutes at a time. I'm going to give it another try in the fall, when it's a little cooler out! I really want to get through the whole thing! Make sure you have good running shoes, I can't stress that enough...my feet hurt SO bad when I wore a horrible pair of sneakers one day, they literally felt like they were going to break with each step I took!

Thanks! Don't worry, you will lose the weight you need to lose! It's hard to get started, but I think once you do and start seeing results, it becomes more motivating to want to keep going! :goodvibes

I wish we were too!! It would be great to meet you guys!! I am so worried we won't be able to fit all the party fun into one night...I even told Tim I wasn't sure we should sit down for dinner, but instead grab food along the way, I'm crazy I know!! :rotfl:

LOL, that's why I'm most likely doing 2 parties, I know we won't be back in October any time soon, so I want to make sure we see it all! :thumbsup2 We're doing dinner, but we are doing it early, 4:40 I think, so we will be done by 6 or so and already in MK!

Awesome check-in day! Thank goodness for that extra Disney day! It will make your arrival at WL so great and convenient!

I love LTT lunch. I can't wait to eat there in December.

You are going to  Love  MNSSHP!

Thanks! OMG I can't wait to check in to WL! I'm getting so impatient now!

I'm SO excited for MNSSHP! I think it is going to be so much fun! :woohoo:

Yes, did hear about the monorails not running after EMHs - it takes away from the appeal of the monorail resorts and means ferries will be more busy. Hope it doesn't impact on your journey to/from the parks when EMHs are happening :goodvibes

I'm not too concerned about the monorail, since we will have a car anyway, but I just think it's annoying! :confused3 I'll just have to make sure our EMH nights don't include the monorail! Especially the night we are doing MK EMH, since we will be coming from Epcot...I guess we will just drive! :confused3

Apparently the reasoning behind closing them early is to have more time at night to do repairs and maintenance. The monorails really need it and they're not getting it with the previous schedule.

Yeah, I read that too. They really need an upgrade of some kind, I saw them get stuck so many times in November! :rotfl:

Day 3 Plans!

Hi everyone!

Well I did it! I finally hit my 10 pound mark today! :dance3: I lost 1.5 pounds this week, and that brings me to 11 total! I'm pretty excited, that means I get to buy myself my reward this weekend! When I get it, I will post it here to show you guys! I'm going to get myself something for each 10 pounds that I lose, hopefully I will lose 20 more before our trip. We have 11 weeks to go, so that seems pretty possible! :thumbsup2

Here is what I have planned for Day 3, Saturday 10/1!

After our first night in our lovely Wilderness Lodge, we will probably just go down to Roaring Forks for breakfast.

wilderness-lodge-pictures059.jpg

I love the breakfast croissant sandwiches they have there!

Then we will hopefully make it to Epcot for rope drop, but if not, as long as we get there pretty early, I'll be happy! If it's early enough, I'd like to do the boat to MK>monorail to Epcot route, but if it's late, we will most likely just drive.

epcot1.jpg

I'm guessing I will head straight to Soarin' to either ride it or get a FP, and then we will probably run over to Test Track before it gets too busy!

ttr35.jpg

Depending on what time it is, we will wander around Future World for a little while longer and wait for the World Showcase to open!

I'm guessing when it does, I will go right to France

for one of these

Parisian-cosmo-Slush.jpg

a Parisian Cosmo slush! OMG so good! :lovestruc Is 11:00 in the morning to early to have a drink? Not when you're on vacation, right?

We will probably just walk around World Showcase, maybe sample a few things from the Food and Wine festival, if the booths are not to too busy.

After we have circled the World Showcase, we will probably go to the International Gateway and walk over to the Beach Club to hop on a boat

to go to Hollywood Studios for a little while! I'm excited to go over there on a boat, because I've never done it before! I don't even know where the dock is at DHS!

BE0000.jpg

Once we are there, I just want to try to ride the Tower of Terror a few times and maybe Rock N Roller coaster, depending on the crowds and the lines!

rocknrollercoaster.jpg

I will also check the wait time for Toy Story mania, but I'm not going to wait more than 30 minutes for that ride, so I'm guessing that won't happen...but I'll check! :cool1:

I'm sure by late afternoon we will be getting tired and ready for a break! So we will go back to the Wilderness Lodge and take a nap, maybe hang out by the pool, and get ready for our dinner reservation at

I'm SO excited to have dinner here, I've heard such great things about it! I was actually thinking of maybe canceling it a few days ago, since it's 2 credits, and I have SO many ADR's, but I think, even though it's expensive, we will just pay OOP for it. I'm not sure though, I'll have to figure that out closer to our trip!

After our fantastic dinner at AP, we will hop on a boat again over to the Magic Kingdom

magic-kingdom-entrance-11-06.jpg

just to see Wishes!

wishes_nd2_st.jpg

I think MK is only open until 10 that night, and Wishes is at 9, so if we have any time, we might go to an attraction or two once it's over, but if not, we will just go back to WL and go to sleep! It's going to be another crazy, 3 park day for us, and I'm sure we will be exhausted! :woohoo:

Have a great weekend everyone! 75 days til Disney!!! :yay:

Wow that's going to be a crazy fun day! I think it will be a good day to see Wishes. Maybe they'll do something special for the 40th anniversary. I still haven't decided what we're going to do on Oct 1. We might end up park hopping a lot too.

Congrats on hitting 10 pounds - and passing it!!! :cheer2: I can't wait to see what you're buying yourself!

Day 3 sounds fun! I'd like to attempt 3 parks in one day - I've never done that before! I've never taken the boat over to DHS, either. I'd like to try that sometime, too!

Congrats on passing 10 lbs!!

The dock at DHS is down a path off to the right of the main gates (when looking from the boat). It's not too far away, that's my favorite way to get to DHS! :thumbsup2

Jen, congrats on the 10 pounds...that is awesome.

Day 3 plans look great. Love me a drink from France. :thumbsup2

Wow 3 parks in one day - yeehaw! Should be fun. 11am is definitely NOT too early for a drink when you're on vacation :teeth: Which reminds me I must try a Grey Goose Slushie when I'm there next time. The dock for DHS is off to the right of the entrance gates. It's pretty hidden if you aren't actually looking for it. I'm excited to hear what you think of Artist's Point. I've always wanted to eat there

Your day three plans look awesome! I can't wait to hear your review on AP! I've never been there but I'm thinking about it for next year....

Congrats on your 11lbs!!!! I'm so, truly, happy for you! I'm soo off the bandwagon, it's really sad! I just got the new WW books so I'm getting back on track on Monday. I have a little less than a year...I just need more willpower (and for every fast food place in CT to just drop off the face of the earth!)

I'm going to start by answering the most important question in your update.

It is never, I repeat NEVER, too early to drink on vacation. Especially in Epcot where it's so readily available.

Dang skippy. ;)

YAY :cool1: Congratulations on losing 10 pounds!!!

The dock at DHS is to the left when you exit. If you go right you go to the bus stops. We've taken it a few times. Make sure you aren't racing time when you get on because it makes a few pit stops first. :thumbsup2

Sounds like Day 3 is going to be super fun-filled!!!

Congrats on the 10+lbs!! That is so exciting. I can't wait to see what you buy for yourself. :yay:

Artist Point was very good last September, I didn't care for the soup but Marc loved it. I think the color of it messed with my head. :rotfl2: I can't remember what Marc had, I will have to ask him but it was one of his favorite things of the trip.

:woohoo: on reaching the 10lb mark and yay on losing even more then that!! :dance3: Can't wait to see what it is you have purchased.

I can't wait to visit Epcot, ride Soarin and TT as well as explore all the beautiful countries. Your plans sound great and no it is never too early to have a drink on vacation!

I hope you guys keep AP and get to eat here - like you have heard nothing but good things for it. Ending the day with Wishes sounds great! :thumbsup2

Congrats on reaching the 10lb mark, well done :) Can't wait to see what you have treated yourself to :)

Your Day 3 plans sound good, hope you enjoy AP, looks like an awesome restaurant :)
