I am considering some sort of welcome event for our guests. This would take place a day or two before the wedding. We are getting married in december so I was wondering if anyone has some fun ideas of stuff that we could do.

one idea I had was to go and play mini golf at one of the courses any suggestions on which course is better?

The welcome event will be primarily for adults I have only 2 kids coming.

Since you are going in December, you can always do something Christmas-y... Certain resorts have huge gingerbread displays and they normally have hidden mickeys on them. The resorts are normally the boardwalk, yahtclub, grandfloridian, and contemporary, there is even one in America in Epcot. You could do a scavenger hunt for the hidden mickeys. You could do it in teams. Each gingerbread display will normally say how many hidden mickey's there are, then you could get together at the end and celebrate... Just an idea :) Good luck!

Depending on how much money you want to spend, I would consider Hoop-Dee-Doo Review. I did this Thursday night, two days before my wedding, when close family came in. We had 25 people and it was a blast. Everyone enjoyed it and took tons of pictures.

I think we may combine our welcome event with our rehearsal dinner and eat somewhere then go to Ft. Wilderness for smores creating/singalong/campfire. :)

We did mini golf at Fantasia Gardens as our 'farewell' get-together the day after the wedding, and I think it would be a fun welcome event too. It worked out pretty well because those that wanted more of a challenge could do the 'Fairways' course and those who wanted more 'typical' mini golf did the 'Gardens' course. The only downside is that you can't really talk to all of your guests because you're limited to groups of 4-6. We still had fun though!

For our welcome event, we had everyone meet us at the River Roost Lounge at POR to see YeHaa Bob. We and most of my family were staying at POR, so it was convenient for us, but it wouldn't be so easy if you're not staying there.
