Even though I'm having an intimate, I still want to do welcome bags for each of my guests (all 8 of them) The search feature stinks and doesn't seem able to bring much up.

Since I'm getting married at Sunset Pointe, I was thinking of having some Luau related items such as
*Luau Rubber Ducks
*Tiki Man Frosted Suckers
*Aloha Key Chain
*Leis

I'll prolly add maps of all the parks to my fiance's half of the guests (my parents + respective spouses have already been a bunch of times)

What else should I add?

I'm also debating between canvas bags, string backpacks or baggalinis to put them in.

We are working on our welcome bags and I keep coming back to the Dis, searching through old posts. I thought I would pull together all the ideas everyone has had into one big list, with the hope that it will help others and maybe even become sticky worthy.

This is a great list made by a fellow Disbride

thats a wonderful list and a wonderfully quick response too...

I like the list of interesting things to see and hidden mickeys - thats something I can work on this summer in all my spare time.

You might try alohafriends.com. This is a website with lots of info about Hawaii, including name translations to Hawaiian. I have used the website many times. I actually used the name translations for a fabulous Wedding Reception Luau for my daughter. We had a bakery do Pineapple shaped cookies that were iced to look like pineapples. We then put those in cellophane bags, tied with rafia, a sand dollar attached and their name translation and these were the placecards. It turned out great!

Oh thank you for this. I am gonna make gift tags for the favors at Ohana's.

My wedding is at Sunset Point also, and I was thinking about using a beachy, tropical theme for favors or gift bags. You asked about what the bad could be, and I am actually thinking about getting sand pails and decorating them a bit and putting everything in those. It might be cute, I'll have to see

I see your profile says St. Augustine... have you been to the WDW outlet?
We bought tons of stuff for our welcome bags there!

I'm sortof from St. Augustine now (I go to college in Worcester, MA so I only visit home (St Augustine) a couple times a year) - I also got an internship up here in MA this summer so that kinda takes away my going home trip for the summer (I'm only allowed one week off and that was taken with my fiance's first trip to WDW) I'm also trying to keep everything a surprise for my guests and when I go home in October, my mother will be with me for the most part.

I'll see if there is a outlet for WDW somewhere in New England that I can hit up on the weekends. If not, I'll keep looking at the Disney Outlet online and look for some good deals :D If not, I'll always wait til October :D

I haven't bought anything yet, so I can't vouch for customer service, quality, etc., but it looks like dollardays.com has some pretty good deals. Especially for weddings with 50+ guests.

As far as I know, there hasn't ever been a Disney outlet store here in NE. There's on in Potomac Mills in VA, but that's about the closest you're going to get. :sad1:

However, the Dollar Tree stores have had some Disney stuff now and then. Kinda more geared towards kids though...like coloring books and some candy stuff.

The WDW park outlets are only here in Florida. We find stuff there all the time that is still for sale in the parks! Everything at the outlet is half off or more. We were able to put t-shirts in our guest bags because they were such a deal!

One more little note;

I have ordered fresh leis from Hawaii and it is a beautiful addition to a Tropical Wedding. I ordered 50 fresh for the women and I found really inexpensive shell leis for the men...the ti leave leis are also wonderful for men! The 50 fresh I ordered were $4 each plus overnight shipping. They arrived beautiful and stayed that way for many days. One lady even wore hers to church a week later...just kept it in the frig.

I think I ordered these from Cindy's Leis in Hawaii, but I am going back to Hawaii in August and I plan on seeing if I can get my fav lei stop...Martha's at the airport, to ship. Her's are typically about $4 each and she has such a beautiful assortment of flowers and designs.

I have found many things in Hawaii that would be wonderful for a tropical themed welcome bag. Some of these could be made easily if you or someone you know sews.

Open ended Sunglass Holder; Tropical print quilted material. Very easy to make and soooo cute! These are my favorite.

Peel Away Vinyl Stickers; There are some great designs; Flip Flops, Hibiscus, etc. Theses could probably be found online at ebay.

I bought some great "do rags" in tropical prints. They look simple to make...very unique.

Beach Print Towels that have been sewn into a drawstring bag with a matching towel inside.

What a fantastic list of items for the welcome bags! Thank you!! :)
