Thanks.. we did have a great time -- I feel guilty. Several people have expressed the notion that I was a dad with kids.. but.. umm.. I'm not. I hope I didn't mislead anyone!

I was travelling in a pack of four adults.. well.. sorta adults anyway. (ha ha) You know how it gets at Disney.

Regardless, I appreciate the warm welcome back! I'll write a trip report tomorrow... and post the most salient and trashy details right here in this thread.

I did actually scribble down some notes and thoughts about the trip while I was there.

Now where did I put that napkin.. hmm...

Since you asked..

We drove to Orlando leaving Fredericton at 5pm on 02/23. We stopped in Saint John to pick up the other two travellers and were in Portland ME getting the rental car by 11:30pm Canadian time.

Loaded safely into our Chevy Impala with XM Satellite radio.. we drove.. and drove.. and drove. By 9pm on Saturday night.. we were exhausted and found ourselves in Florence, SC. Good enough for now. We got a hotel room at the Sleep Inn and stayed the night.

Up at 8am we were on the road once again and arrived in Orlando at Pop Century around 3:30pm. Check-in went smoothly. Our room was 2101, located right next to the Jukebox in that building to the right. We were about 50 feet from the edge of the pool - ground floor. Perfect.

Our room was RIGHT to my right as I took this picture..

A bit of lounging about and a bite to eat at a relatively dead 'Everything Pop" and we were off to the Magic Kingdom. The sun was just setting as we cruised across the lagoon aboard the ferry.

We did some rides... starting with Buzz Lightyear! YAY. Then we watched SpectroMagic.. I thought this pic of the fish came out cool.. tho messed up.. still cool...

We did the Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain and a few others. The lines were virtually non-existent and the MK was open till 1am that night.

We stopped to watch Wishes.. did a few more rides.. and whatever. I took some castle pictures..

And we left the park about 11:45pm. Very tired and ready to sleep.

Monday.. was EMH at Disney Studios. We got there late, around 11am and used Fastpasses and criss-crossing the park to avoid lines. Caught LMAction Stunt Show.. Muppets and everything else we wanted to do except RnR. That was too busy for our taste. Fantasmic was standing room only so we skipped that for another day.

That night we did Pleasure Island till close. Good times! Met people from all over the world.

Tuesday.. Animal Kingdom.. again with the late arrival. I swear to you I was travelling with three other guys who took more time in front of the mirror each morning than I have my entire life! We did a few things .. The big news for me was that our driver for Kilimanjaro Safari completely downplayed the Big Red / Little Red Story line and instead focused on the animals we could see and other interesting tidbits. It was by far the best time I've had yet on 'safari'. Walking into the line ride for safari right after the Jungle Jammin parade, one CM said "Enjoy your two week safari" -- I played right along and said "Oh NO! I only packed for ONE DAY!??" and my buddy turned to me and slapping his hands against his cheeks said "AND... we left KEVIN at HOME .. ALONE!" Everybody laughed at that.

We stayed at AK till near close and then straight to MGM. We caught the final show of Beauty & The Beast... Did RnR with almost no line.. and then did ToT again and after grabbing some turkey legs at Toluca Turkey Legs.. sat down and waited in an awesome seat for Fantasmic...

After Fantasmic.. we loaded up the car once again and headed straight for Epcot. We got a beer and watched Illuminations.

A very full day, nobody was willing to go out that night. We all slept soundly.

Wednesday - Epcot.. Lunch at Le Cellier -- which was absolutely amazing. Everything went fine till we got separated at Mission:Space around 2:10pm. Darned it. I waited for like 2 hours before I finally got ahold of my companions on cell phone. Two had gone on to AK again and one back to lay by the pool at Pop Century. Grrr..

I was really upset about that when it happened. So .. I tried really hard to calm down and not be upset. I went for a drive. I got some McDonalds.. and after about 25 minutes.. I realized that I was mad cause I had waited 2 hours for them and they had only waited about 25 minutes trying to find me. Hardly worth being upset over.

That night we did Pleasure Island once again till close. Good times! Met people from all over the world -- again!

Thursday - I hit MK in the morning till about noon. Lounged by the pool in the afternoon.. We had big plans for Thursday evening. The plan was -- Dinner at Spoodles on the Boardwalk.. an hour or so at JellyRolls and then off to Pleasure Island.

Well.. we took the bus to Epcot from Pop C and decided to walk thru Epcot to Spoodles. BiG MiSTaKE! As soon as the guys smelled the fish & chips from the stand in UK.. it was all over. They wanted those fish & chips and they wanted them NOW.

Spoodles was to be cancelled due to lack of interest.

We eventually walked over to JellyRolls.. but it was a 10$ cover -- which I did not recall reading about and which none of us were willing to pay for an hour or so.

Back to the bus at the front of Epcot.. (we sure did a LOT of walking!) back to the hotel for a bit of rest.. and then.. You guessed it..

Thursday night we did Pleasure Island all over again till close. Good times again!! Met people from all over the world .. again.. for the third time.

Friday - Was shopping day. We hit DownTown Disney and then over to the Florida Mall.. which seemed to take FOREVER to get to. Then one of the guys wanted to go to the Adidas Outlet store on International Drive. Wow.. what a hassle. We got there eventually but man.. we were really cranky by this point.

Back at Pop Century -- the Spring Breakers had started to arrive.. the parking lots were very full. The pool was very full. There was no place to sit at Everything Pop at 9pm at night. Wow.. I'm glad I was NOT sticking around for another week of this!

And then..

Yes. That's right.

Waiiiit for it.....

Friday night we did Pleasure Island till close one last time. Good times all over again for the fourth time!! Met people from all over the world before leaving for home.

Saturday : Checked out at 11am and hit the road. We drove straight thru to Saint John. Wow. Was I tired. But we made it home safely. YAY.

And that's.. my week @ Disney.
