STUNNING SORRENTO AND AMALFI COAST DRIVEWind your way along the spectacular Amalfi Coast, make your way through the narrow, cobblestone
streets of seaside Sorrento, and sightsee and shop for handcrafts at a local village.
Surrender to the scenic splendor of the Amalfi Coast with its breathtaking view of the Bay of Naples and
magnificent Mt. Vesuvius during a 75-minute air-conditioned ride to the seaside town of Sorrento,
nestled high amidst the cliffs. Take in a brief visit at the historical center before making your way to
picturesque Corso Italia, the flower-lined main thoroughfare of the town, home to a plethora of shops,
boutiques and coffee shops. Behold the breathtaking Mediterranean amidst the hilltop garden of Villa
Communale, wander the town square of Piazza Tasso or explore the Correale Museum, home to a
multitude of antique furniture, porcelain and Neapolitan paintings during your 90-minute visit.
After your visit in Sorrento, sit back and relax as you wind your way along a picture-perfect coastline
and make your way to a delightful hotel overlooking the Bay of Naples for an authentic Italian lunch.
Afterward, journey to the charming villages of Amalfi, Maiori or Veitri sul Mare and embark on a scenic,
unguided walking tour of spectacular seaside views, fascinating historic sites and a myriad of shops
selling handcrafted majolica, a specialty of the region since the Middle Ages. After your approximate 90-
minute visit, return to Naples via motor coach.

JUMPING BACK INTO ETERNAL ROME
Travel by train through the lush Italian countryside and make your way to the "eternal city" of Rome for
an unforgettable tour of such iconic landmarks as the Colosseum, the Pantheon, Navona Square, the
Trevi Fountain and the Vatican.
Sit back and surrender to the panoramic splendor of Italy, as you journey past scenic seaside vistas,
sprawling green hills and steep rocky climbs, aboard the Roma Express - a private train offering comfort
and convenience - and make your way to St. Peter's Station. Upon your arrival, board an air-conditioned
motor coach and prepare to be dazzled by the grandeur of Rome during a scenic one-hour tour through
its historic streets, before making your way to your first stop at the majestic landmark of ancient Rome -
the Roman Colosseum. Built in the 1st-century, the Colosseum is undoubtedly the greatest
amphitheater of antiquity, capable of seating 50,000 people, and is the famous place where legions of
gladiators once did battle and lavish public spectacles were held. Step back in time as you wander the
majestic alleyways, stroll above the mazelike hypogeum of the elliptical-shaped arena and marvel at the
illustrious architecture - both aesthetic and functional - that surrounds you at every turn. After your 60-
minute guided tour, embark on a 20-minute drive to Traforo to begin the next leg of your amazing tour.
From the Via del Traforo tunnel, make your way to a landmark of lovers and friends the world over: the
Trevi Fountain. Standing 85 feet high, the Trevi Fountain was completed in 1762, and is the largest and
arguably the most beautiful Baroque fountain in Rome. Revel in the sculptured beauty of Neptune and
the Tritons and be sure to toss a coin into the fountain, because legend has it that when you do, you are
guaranteed a return visit to Rome. After your 30-minute stop, walk along the Via del Corso, once used
by the Romans for chariot racing, and make your way to the "Temple of the Gods", the 2nd-century
Pantheon. Considered one of the most important buildings in the world, the Pantheon is an exquisite
example of ancient Roman architecture, and is home to the tomb of the Renaissance painter, Raphael,
and the French writer and philosopher, Voltaire. While there, wander the immense circular hall, marvel
at the 1,800-year old bronze doors, and behold the Great Eye, the central opening in the roof and only
source of light in the building. After, travel to the picture-perfect, "storybook" square of the Piazza
Navona and snap a picture in front of the world-famous "Fountain of the Four Rivers" with its
magnificent Egyptian obelisk. Featuring a stadium-like layout, the 15th-century piazza was once the site
of mock sea battles, public shows and Olympic-style games. After your approximate 90-minute visit,
savor the flavor of an authentic Italian lunch.
After lunch, embark on an 80-minute tour of the seat of the Catholic Church, the Vatican. Stroll through
St. Peter's Square, the sweeping expanse where thousands gather to receive the Pope's blessing, and
make your way through the ornate, Bernini-designed colonnades to St. Peter's Basilica, purported to be
burial site of the apostle, Saint Peter. Once inside, surrender to the larger-than-life grandeur and marvel
at the abundance of spectacular architecture and art that abounds in all directions. Stand in awe at
Michelangelo's masterpiece, the Pietà, luminous in white marble, and revel in the Bernini-designed
papal canopy and gilt and bronze throne. After your 75-minute visit, board the Roma Express train at
the nearby St. Peter's Station, and unwind with a relaxing 60-minute ride back to the ship.
