I know there have been tons of questions about splitting a meal at BB. But I don't recall this one. DD will only eat the bread and steak at BB. Last time, I ordered an appetizer for me and the adult steak for her. I ate the salad and sides. No split charge because we ordered 3 things. I just noticed on allears.net that they are no longer offereing appetizers and the split charge is now $12. I do have a point!
If I order the surf and turf and give DD only the steak, will there be a $12 charge? Thanks in advance!

You should since each person will receive their own portion of soup and salad now, from what I heard.

You are not splitting the plate you are sharing the plate..ergo no split plate charge. If you split the steak and both get soup and salad, you will get the charge.

I read that there is no charge for an extra plate but if you were to split the salad and such then you would have to pay the split fee of $12 I know we will split but we'll just do it ourselves and save $12 bucks and ask for extra plates!!!

Thanks everyone! The last few times we've been there we had so much wasted food that DD did not/ would not eat.

Yes, don't tell them you want to split, just say you want an extra plate.

Yes, I second that..ask for an extra plate, not a split plate. When we went in April DH and shared a meal and the kids shared a meal. Extra plates, please. There was no charge.
And our waitress even confirmed that there would be not charge for an extra plate, but if our meal was split in the kitchen there would be a charge.

This is correct!
