Weird ? re: gates

Do your resort key cards work in all the electronic gates or only the one for your resort?

We will be at OKW next month & have friends that will be at SSR at the same time (as well as spa appointments). Just wondering if we have to wait in the line at the guard shack or if we could bypass/use the side gate with our OKW key.

Not a big deal either way, just curious.

I always go to the guard gate at SSR even when I have an SSR card. I LOVE saying Hi to Gene! One of my favorite CM's!

If you are not staying at that resort, you room key will not work at the gate.

That's what I thought.

Again, like I said, it was not a big deal, just one of those, "Hmmmm , I wonder if... ?" kind of things.

Sometimes the guards can get backed up & I was thinking, if the key worked... yadda, yadda, yadda

Side gates at SSR?

Is this new?

Guests in the past or anyone, really, could just walk into SSR from DTD.

Has this changed?

There is a side gate for automobiles not too far from opposite the new fire station. No gate for sidewalks.
