Say, we are at the Magic Kingdom and that night we would like to have dinner at Hoop De Doo and then come back to MK for Disney Wishes. How would we do that? Is there transportation? Would we actually be leaving the parks? I know these question may sound stupid, but I am trying to learn Disney. I've been once with my husband, so it wasn't a very "planned" vacation. PLEASE any info will be helpful.

You can leave the Magic Kingdom and get to Fort Wilderness (the resort where the Hoop De Doo show is at) either by bus (head left) or by boat launch (preferred, pretty much straight ahead).

After the show, take a boat launch or bus back to the Magic Kingdom and you can re-enter the park (even without a "park hopper" option).

Hi. Yes, in this case, you would be leaving the Magic Kingdom and going to Fort Wilderness.

If I could suggest - look above this thread at the blue ribbon. The one on the bottom that says DIS Home is the home page that will direct to a WORLD of information. You can look at individual information for each resort, theme park, transportation, restaurants, etc. etc. etc.

Disney World is a small city. Each theme park is it's own destination and there are highways that connect them all within Disney World. Each resort is separate and has it's own entrance road, so they all feel secluded from everything else (except the All-Stars - they are all next to each other on the same road).

There are many Disney World information sites. You can also read Allears.net for info, Mousesavers.com for really great discount tips and info.

Also read through lots of threads. You may find your question has been answered before - lots of times, even.

Have a great trip.

Thank you for the valuable information. After that being said. Do you think it will be possible to do this? I have looked at the actual map of all of WDW, and MK doesn't look like it is TOO far away from Fort Wilderness, but then again, it's only a map.

You will need to leave the Magic Kingdom. At the side of the Seven Seas Lagoon there is a dock for the boat launches to Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. This is NOT the same as the big ferryboat that goes to the Transportation and Ticket Center. The big ferryboat dock is to the left of the FW/WL dock, between that and the bus stops. The FW/WL launches are medium size yellow or blue boats with seating both inside and outside.

Take the launch to Fort Wilderness. Do not get off the boat at Wilderness Lodge - this is an entirely different place. When you get off at the FW boat dock, you will be within short walking distance of Pioneer Hall, where the Hoop De Doo Revue takes place. When the show is over, take the boat from the same dock back to Magic Kingdom. If you are going to the latest show of Hoop De Doo you might have to take note of the time MK closes so you can still take the boat back.

Hoop de Doo is a dinner show, not a regular restaurant. You'd probably have to book the first showing if you want a shot at seeing Wishes inside MK.

Take the boat to FW, just make sure you are on the FW boat not the WL boat, they share the same dock area. The FW boat usually uses the side of the dock closest to the monorail, WL usually uses the dock clesest to the TTC Ferry Boat. The boat trip is about 20 min and is the ONLY direct route between MK and FW, there is NO BUS(at least not on a normal basis)

If I remember correctly, sometimes the same boat makes both stops.

There is a bus - but it will drop you off at the main bus depot on the opposite side of the campground from Pioneer Hall, and you then have to take an internal bus to get there.

Since you seem to be getting your head around this....

WDW is big....really big. It isn't impossible to do what you are talking about, but it might be time consuming to do it.

Here is a link to a transportation wizard:

http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/twiz.aspx

Now, what the transportation wizard doesn't cover is time it takes to get to the transportation - or to the place you are going on the other end. And don't forget to add the wait time for each leg.

Along with big - there is a ton to do. You won't do everything, and you'll have to make some choices - it may come down to Wishes OR Hoop de Doo. Just leaves something to save for next trip.

I agree with everyone else, Disney is HUGE! That said, there are plenty of signs to point you in the right direction as well as CM's at every turn to help you get somewhere. Transportation is typically at a leisurely pace though. If you have a car and need to get somewhere (specifically resort to resort) use it. There is no direct transportation from resort to resort.

If there is a bus it must be fairly new(although I admit I have not gone to Outpost looking for a bus to MK, so it may have been around for years :confused3), but as you said it goes to the wrong end of the campground. The boat routes were seperated a few years ago, there is a boat that goes from WL to FW to CR, clockwise in the AM and counterclockwise after 3pm, but the MK boats routes are seprate now.

Definitely take the boat launch from FW after the show. It was really magical at night and one of the favorites of our last trip. It was really easy. There were many cast members around to direct us.

We took a cab to the Hoop de Doo from SSR last trip and the cab driver dropped us off right at the Pioneer Hall. It was about $15 for the ride and I believe very worth it as we wanted to go back to the room and shower after being in the parks. But if you are at MK it would be very easy to find the FW boat again many CM are there to help you - not at all confusing.
