Weird Phonecall w/ParkVue

I had priced out the off-site hotels @ DL a few weeks ago, did my research here, etc.

Had a AAA price for 8 nights late June for a standard room, the suites pricing wasn't available yet. Called then & was told they'd email me when the pricing was set.

Was getting antsy about possiblity of not having a room @ any inn;) (so used to booking things at least 11 months ahead of time - old habits hard to break); tried to book online last night....NO ROOMS AVAILABLE:scared1:

Called ParkVue again today. They told me that several large TAs were booking up all their inventory; so pulled the whole month's availablity until "they're ready" to put it back up.:confused3 :confused:

Said they'd def. email me when booking resumes...

have never heard of this before...is this common @ DL offsite hotels?
 
It 'might' be the TAs are expecting a hugh flux in business.:confused3
 
thought about this some more, perhaps they meant the "big boys"...expedia, etc.?:confused3
 
Can I gently (emphatically) suggest you not use the Parkvue? I booked with them for our trip in March, and was shocked to see charges on my credit card from them in February. When I called to ask why, they said it was because we didn't show up for our rooms. They had booked us a month earlier than they were supposed to, CHARGED us for their mistake, and then refused to refund our money or comp our rooms while we were there (that we had already paid for) because "March rates are different".:confused:
Shifty bunch over there. We ended up staying at the Motel 6 and using the ART to get to and from our room, and they were fantastic.

I hope that you dispute the charge with your credit card company. They should have been able to work out something with the hotel.

About a year ago, I took my wife out to eat and we had terrible service (and the power went out so we had to eat our meals in the dark). When we checked our Visa statement, the server had increased her tip (increased by less than a dollar, but it's the principle). My wife called the Visa to dispute the charge, and they asked how our meal was. When my wife told them about the power going out and everything else, they said that they would dispute the charge with the restaurant.

With the power that the credit card companies have over the hotels in that area, I would imagine that they could have worked something out.
