weird food craving -- I want tzaziki!

there's a guy in my office who makes homemade hummus and tzaziki. we were talking about it today and now I'm craving it.

guess I'd better go buy the ingredients tomorrow...

if it's made right -- plenty of grated cucumber and minced garlic -- I just dip some pita in it and eat it as a spread. have you ever tried it on a baked potato? not traditional, but yummy.

I craved tzaziki when I was pregnant! There is a Gyro place up Deer Park Ave by me and I was there almost every day for lunch and then craved Pasta for dinner so Mon, Tue and Wed there was a restuarant called Mama Leonoras(sp?) that had all you can eat pasta for 5.95 back then and I would go there and have pasta!!!!

I could (and have) eat tzaziki with a spoon! The Greek Orthodox Church here is having their annual Greek festival in a few weeks. The tzaziki is good (we make good at home too), but the loukamades are to die for! YUM YUM YUM!

If you have a Trader Joe's, they sell it premade in the case where they keep the meat and deli stuff

Aprilgail, I go to a great Greek place on Jericho Turnpike in Commack...

I'll be trying the Trader Joe's version, I'm sure, but homemade is soooo good.
