So we are going Jan 21-25 so today is my 180 mark. I know we are going to stay at the Poly but have not booked a room yet. I called DIS dining and the CM said no reservations for ADRs without a room confirmation. Ok fine pass me over to reservations.

I booked the Poly garden room, 4 nights at $209 BUT the CM told me that is not the final price, the rate will go down next month (I am hopping for a bounceback or AP rate). So I reluctantly booked the room and paid the first night.

I asked to be transferred back to dining, he said that I cannot make any dining reservations at this time. THey are only booking up to Jan 21st. Ok whatever. I hang up with him and call back

I get this wonderful woman who makes all the reservations I wanted and the times I wanted for the entire trip and never asked for my room reservation number. I asked her if she needed it and she said no she did not. (Do you think she found it from my phone number? Could their computers be updated that fast?)

So I got:

Thursday breakfast at Ohana and dinner at 1900 PF

Friday breakfast at Princess in Norway and dinner at Coral Reef

Saturday breakfast at Chef MIckeys and dinner at Mama Melrose

Sunday breakfast at Crystal Palace.

I am wondering if I should call back and cancel my room reservations, I hate to charge that $525 on my card 6 months in advance. Do you think this will cancel my dining reservations?

Oh no I typoed, it was $2092 for the entire stay, $525 a night

I did get Poly for $202 a night discount for next month, 40% off code but no codes for Jan yet, no 2009 prices posted til next month

I think a WDW room reservation would be needed to make your 180 +10 ADRs. Off site guests can make them one day at a time (like the old days). Last year I reserved PC in September and then when free dining was released, I added that on and upgraded to CSR. I was able to keep the same reservation number. I think if you can keep the same reservation number, your ADRs will still be intact. If they cancel your reservation, they will be cancelled. This is how I believe it works, maybe someone else will chime in here.

And I'm sorry, but did I read correctly?! No BOMA!!!??? Shame on you...

I thought ADR and room reservations were on a totally different system. Meaning that you'd have to cancel your ADR's seperately if you cancelled your room ressies. I could be wrong.

I was under the impression that when you enter your phone number in the automated part of the call at the beginning, it marks you as having a reservation. (As to how fast that is updated, I don't know.) As recently as last week the automated part asked for phone number OR confirmation number, but when I called on Monday it only asked for phone number (oh no! which phone number is my reservation under!?!). But...there are still lots of whys? I have about the whole process, like the date I check in, or where I am staying. Anyone could lie about those

They are separate but it appears the OP was making her dining reservations for her entire stay which would call into the +10 thing. That is only available for guests of Disney resorts so therefore you do need to have a resort reservation to do that. Otherwise, you have to call back every day to make each reservation.

Seems like the whole system is just plain messed up the past couple of days. I called at 7:02 am today and was told the system was down. I hung up and called back, got a different CM, and made all my ADRs (through Jan 25 only) with no problems. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I always assumed that ADRs were cancelled with reservation cancellations. People always recommend calling for ADRs 45 days before they are wanted because people haven't made their final package payment and ressies get cancelled.

It's hard to find out anything for sure these days!
