Weird closing hours in May?

Unfortunetly, they don't usually release one day at a time. They usually do a week at a time, so since they only showed til thursday, who knows when they will show the schedule for the 22nd. We know the hours (24), but it would be nice to know the schedule of events to make dining reservations around. That week is just a big mess, and I wish I could change my trip.

May 22nd is now showing. At least for me, the calendar has always updated day by day. Not that I look very often.

It now shows the 6am to 6am, 24hr period for both DL and DCA. I would still like to confirm if there is an AP event for Thursday May 21, 2015 starting at 6pm because that will affect my trip planning. I am currently planning to arrive late afternoon on May 21st. And was hoping to do the park for longer than 6pm with no DCA that day. If it closes to everyone at 6pm, then I will probably just arrive Friday instead. Since I really just want to do 9pm to 6am for the 24hr period.

Has anyone found confirmation about May 21, 2015 for what is happening at 6pm?

I don't know about the 6 pm closure on May 21, but as for the 7:30 closing times, I do suspect that has to do with testing the fireworks show and parade. Others have asked why they can't do this in the middle of the night - for the fireworks this would not be possible, as Disneyland is surrounded by residential neighborhoods and there would be noise restrictions that late at night.

I wrote a letter to Disney about the early closings and the impact it would have on our trip. I never thought it would be read, let alone responded to. Today I got a call from a very nice CM who gave us 2 re-admit tickets for each day of our trip! Wow! I really can't believe they took the time to even respond.

what is a re-admit ticket?

The CM said we could use them on any ride and skip the regular line, so our whole party can pick 2 per day (we all have to go together) each day of our 5 day trip!

What email address did you send it to? I'd also like to give them my feedback on the early hours; I am feeling very frustrated, and I think it would help to know that I at least put my two cents in!

There was a place somewhere on Disney's site for feedback, it was a form you fill out. Sorry I can't be more specific, I really don't even know how I finally got to it!

I sent them an email last night telling them how upset I was about the hours as well. Still haven't heard a response back.

It took 3 days for me to hear back from them. I was quite shocked they called, figured it would go to the round file :-)

If Disneyland "is" Closing at 6pm on May 21 it will be due to Media Events just as there was on 05-04-05, I would be thankful that Disneyland will even be open at all as on 05-04-05 the park was closed to all guests. Happy Diamond Celebration y'all

DCA will close at 6pm on May 20 also.

I am so sad! My Daughter and I will be there May 4th through the 8th. It is our big Mom/Daughter trip (She turns 13 and I am turning 40) I have no idea what we will do in the evening. We wont even have a car so I guess we will go to movies or just to our hotel...

Normal operating hours for that week are 10am-9pm; the park is not regularly open until midnight except during busy seasons like Summer, Christmas, and weekends. So your hours are now Disneyland 9-7:30 (M & W) and 8-7:30 (R), but on all those days DCA is still open until 9pm. So in reality you get 4 more hours in the park since it opens earlier than normal, and you can still stay until 9pm every day.

Also noticed something for those of us going the week of May 17-21. I think it was changed yesterday/today because I didn't notice it before; maybe it's because of all of you who called and complained :D. Anyway, on Monday and Wednesday the park now closes at 10pm instead of the traditional 9pm. Doesn't matter to us since our kiddos need to go to bed, but for some of you late birds it could be a nice extra hour.

Could anyone advise about the following please?

For the week 17th-22nd May, if you click on the individual days, certain days say that no early entry is available for either park. EG:

https://disneyland.disney.go.com/au/calendar/#/default/2015/05/18

Monday says EMH for DCA. Whereas I thought it was also MM for those staying at a Disney Hotel (ie: us). Tuesday says EMH & MM for DLP. Wednesday says EMH & MM for DLP. Thursday says EMH for DCA -same again (thought it should be MM too). Friday it says no early admission for either park - guess that's not too surprising as it's the 60th birthday kick-off. But the other ones are a surprise to me and will throw out a bit of my plannings. Grrr! :sad2:

EDIT:
I think I may have confused myself. Is it the other way around, that is MM is the park hopper one and EMH is the one if you stay at the resorts? In that case, I'll shut-up!

Yes. MM is for those with the 3 day+ tickets and EMH is for those staying at a disney resort
