Weird and Ninja’s Pre-Disneymoon [Completed!]

Super update, Rachel. I love all of your trivia tidbits. :goodvibes I'm going to look for UB Iwerks in my new Walt biography. It's called Walt Disney-The Triumph of the American Imagination by Neal Gabler. It's regularly priced $20, but I found it at my favorite used bookstore for $8. It looks as if it has never even been opened, too! :wizard:

PS. When do you leave on your next trip? We leave town on 2/8. I just made an awesome 30 day countdown calendar that I can't wait to hang up and begin. I guess I need a countdown calendar for my countdown calendar. :rotfl:

Haha, but virtual food shopping is only fun when they're vacation pics. Would you still be interested if I had food shopping pics each week from home? Haha, I really need a vacation ...

I guess you are right, I wouldn't really want to follow you at the grocery store at home :rotfl:

Great Main Street pics! Its my favorite place at MK! :goodvibes

P.S I want to read your blog! Would you like to share the link?

Good morning Rachel! I'm glad to see another update as I'm up for school (I swear that was the shortest winter break ever, LOL!). It's so funny seeing your pictures and knowing we were there at the same time. Except when we got there it was still dark!

Now that you mention it, I think we've always gone through the left entrance too. Strange how that works out.

Wow, I don't think I have EVER seen that double decker bus!!! That is cool!

Ah, Wednesday, April 7 and catching the bus from the AKL just after 6 AM.

It seems like we usually enter from the left now because we almost always go through the bag check that way.

Funny, though, years ago we always entered from the right because we would rent a stroller from that side.

I'm back and I'm finally all caught up! I love all of your updates! When we were in DTD I had to go in Tren-D just because I remembered looking at the pictures on your TR!

I have never been to a supermarket in Orlando but I'd like to go. I head that Publix is a great store. Since we usually stay on property we don't really venture beyond the World very often except maybe to go to Universal Studios. I would like to someday because it's a whole new experience I've never tried!

I love your picture with the mayor! You look very pretty and he looks adorable! I love when the characters are a lot of fun and make you laugh. :)

I wonder how many other DISers are in the parks at the same time we were there. I mean, there are only 365 days of the year and a TON of DISers! I hope to one day get there when it's dark out too!

I wish I could spend 2 days at MK and enjoy the "little" things like that double decker bus! We have a lot of double deckers in NYC giving those tours, but I'd like to ride along Main Street!

I loved your conversation with the Mayor!

When we're in MK and my kids point out that line that Tink flies on, I always pretend not to see it and insist that she is really flying!

I've got to catch up on your blog, and find out what a Cricut Expression is!

The Mayor is such a cute man! Haha.

I've been updating a lot lately! That's why I haven't been on DIS.

Thanks for the walk down Main Street this morning. I think next time we go I want to take a really long trip so that I can devote as much time as necessary to just explore every shop, corner & window on Main Street - there's just so much to see.

LOVE that you met the Mayor, how fun!

I had a picture of Jared playing in the bubbles coming out of the trashcan on my Christmas report, that might have been where you saw it :)

It'll be really different going in February when my parents are there. I think Weird and I will be able to get my cousins and the guys into all the details!

Yup, it might've been your report!

Yay for being at MK-- I love that the TTA gives you that "Disney" feeling! The picture of you with the Mayor is too cute!

A while ago, Weird said that he would've wanted to propose on the TTA during IllumiNations. Hehe, that's before he knew a lot about Disney, so he didn't realize it was two different parks!

Loved your photo tour of Main Street. I'm guilty of rushing by all the stores just to get to the rides. Aww your pic with the Mayor is so cute! I wonder how good Casey's hot dogs are? I've always wanted to try them.

I'm hoping to try some of those corn dog nuggets during our next trip! I'm determined to just sit and relax and enjoy Spectro or MSEP at night. I normally get all like, "AHHHH, still should ride!" but I want the full experience! I think if I link some food with it, it'll definitely make me sit and relax!

That bus is so cool. I don't remember ever seeing that before. How cool.

Funny about the Mayor. I think that must be his line. You know, I think he's said "enjoy your honeymoon" to us on every trip except our actual honeymoon :rotfl:

Haha, hopefully we'll see the Mayor during our actual homeroom so that it can be true!

Ooo, Ub Iwerks has to be in that book. I definitely want to eventually read a Walt bio. I have the kiddie version that my younger brother saw at his book fair at school a few years ago. I like it because he saw it, thought of me, and bought it for me!

We leave on our next trip on 2/19. We won't be in Florida until 2/20, and our first park is on 2/21. Hopefully, snow won't ruin any plans! We're less than 30 days away!

I guess you are right, I wouldn't really want to follow you at the grocery store at home :rotfl:

I'll be sure to get grocery store pics when we go back! Hehe, need the link again? ;)

Ah, Wednesday, April 7 and catching the bus from the AKL just after 6 AM.

It seems like we usually enter from the left now because we almost always go through the bag check that way.

Funny, though, years ago we always entered from the right because we would rent a stroller from that side.

I wonder how many other people always go through the same side! So funny how we can be creatures of habit even for something like Disney (and I don't go as often as you guys do!).

I'm back and I'm finally all caught up! I love all of your updates! When we were in DTD I had to go in Tren-D just because I remembered looking at the pictures on your TR!

It's funny how you want to have some off-property experience, and I'd like to have some on-property experience! I think they both have their advantages.

Awww, thanks! I was excited to meet him, but I admit, I was a little nervous! I'm not the hugest fan of meeting characters. I don't know why!

Wednesday, April 7: Friendly Competition

(Sorry I've been away for so long again! I've been making a lot of things on my Cricut and Cuttlebug that finally arrived! I've been spending time writing on my blog and having fun with my new hobby!)

We were finally headed to our first "land," and that was Tomorrowland!

IMG_2575.jpg

We always make a right and got there first. I don't know why. I would say it's because we always want to do Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin as many times as possible in that one day, but I know we used to go that way even before that ride came. I do miss Dreamflight!

This is my version of the Tomorrowland entranceway marker thing. I kept forgetting to take pics because I was used to Weird taking them, so I decided to take one when we were underneath! I actually like it because it seems kind of strange, and you wouldn't necessarily know what it was unless you know Disney!

A035.jpg

I immediately point out my all-time favorite ride at WDW! The TTA! The funny thing is that now that everyone else is excited to see People Mover back in the name, I'm still going to continue saying TTA only!

IMG_2582.jpg

I really do get such a thrill seeing those blue cars zoom on by. In the morning, it's even more fun because it's still just running even though there aren't people on it!

IMG_2584.jpg

Here are my mom and brother heading towards our first stop.

A036.jpg

We passed by the Tomorrowland Noodle Station sign. That was pretty cool because I had never known where it was beforehand.

A037.jpg

First stop was to visit Buzz Lightyear! Well, to visit his FastPass machines technically! We always have to get FP first and then ride it. We try to ride it at least 3 times in one day.

IMG_2592.jpg

You know, it wasn't until this year that I noticed the SR on the side of the FP machine, and it was only because Weird took a picture of it!

IMG_2595.jpg

I'm sure there's a thread somewhere with all the pics of FP machines! Or maybe you can just check some of them out on Joni's PTR because she used some for her game!

IMG_2597.jpg

Getting excited!

IMG_2598.jpg

There it is!

IMG_2599.jpg

It's so difficult to get a good shot of Buzz, mainly because the line is always moving.

A038.jpg

Here are the scores we got from our first run through! Weird's score is on the left, and mine is on the right. Despite the fact that I've been on this ride many more times than he has, he clearly did a lot better than I did! And the thing is, I was the one who was moving the whole vehicle! I did feel kinda afraid to mess him up if he was trying to get a particular shot. Hehe, we're slightly competitive with these things (in a good way), so I was determined to do better the next time!

IMG_2604.jpg

Here are my mom and brother. Haha, I didn't blob out their faces since it's so unbelievably blurry! I had turned around on the moving sidewalk, and a CM said something like, "Keep moving." I wasn't sure if he was speaking to me or someone else, so I just quickly snapped the picture.

A044.jpg

We had fun examining the mural in the dump shop. Look, a Hidden Mickey! Very easy to spot.

IMG_2606.jpg

And of course, we had to look for Stitch. You can't actually see Stitch in it very clearly, but it's still pretty cool!

A045.jpg

We left the shop and saw more Little Green Men goodies!

A046.jpg

IMG_2610.jpg

So cute to see these guys and the claw! Ooo, and look at the back of that squished penny machine! I've gotten all those squished pennies years ago because Matt loved Toy Story.

A047.jpg

Where would we go next?

Wednesday, April 7: Where Are We Going?

After our spin with Buzz Lightyear, we wanted to find our next ride. Was it my favorite?

IMG_2611.jpg

Nope, it wasn't TTA just yet. While we were walking, we did pass by a stand selling those huge balls that look like so much fun in the park but cost an arm and a leg.

IMG_2616.jpg

I like how they decide to showcase the ball though with the steady stream of air!

IMG_2619.jpg

Was it Tomorrowland Speedway?

IMG_2620.jpg

Nope, no way would we wait in a line that long for a ride like this. I think that if I didn't drive on my own, there would be a huge draw for this. I remember loving it as a kid. Even though many DISers don't like it because of the long line in the sun, it really is such a great ride for kids! I don't think they should get rid of it. They should, however, create a better way for people to steer!

Duck, do you know where we're going?

IMG_2624.jpg

The duck knew that we were headed toward Fantasyland! When we passed by this kiosk, I had Weird take a picture of it. I think this is where they used to sell the ride tickets! I think that's really cool. The only other one that's still in the park is the DVC kiosk in Tomorrowland. I also like how the CM inside is putting on a Mickey glove!

IMG_2629.jpg

Okay, so now we're in Fantasyland. Um, are we staying there? Seriously, where are we going?

We love Buzz, too. TTA will always be our first stop in Tomorrowland-- just for Buzz and SM, though. We return for Carousel and stuff later in the day!

Yup! Same here! CoP is perfect for later on in the afternoon when all you want to do is sit, but you still want to enjoy something!

Wednesday, April 7: A Fast Pace Through Fantasyland

We weren't headed to Winnie the Pooh. I love this ride, and I was looking forward to visiting the pals from the Hundred Acre Woods, but now wasn't the time.

IMG_2631.jpg

Just keep on walking!

A048.jpg

No time to stop for shopping either! I had to post this particular picture that Weird took because of the fact that the color of my hair looks reddish! I do have dark brown hair naturally with a little bit of goldish brown in it too. No, I don't dye my hair. I don't believe in that. The funny thing is, this picture is my hair completely natural in the sun, yet many of my students are still convinced that my hair is black. And it's strange because I wear black often. They need to get their eyes checked.

IMG_2633.jpg

It's not called Pooh's Thotful Shop anymore, right? I read about it and saw it in pictures. Haha, I finally remember the name of the place, and they change it!

A049.jpg

We wouldn't be stopping for ice cream this early in the morning OR ever since Weird and I are both lactose intolerant. We can still have dairy (ex. I can have most cheese without a problem unless it's a lot of mozzarella or ricotta), but ice cream is a no-no. It'd make both of us sick!

IMG_2636.jpg

I never noticed all the detail that went into this little village-looking town!

A050.jpg

Look at all that seating for tired parents, haha. Empty now because it was still early!

A051.jpg

A ton of people were already waiting to meet Ariel at Ariel's Grotto. Even when Weird and I have kids, I don't think I could ever do that. I'd probably say to the kiddies, "You can pick 3 characters you want to meet during the whole trip." Haha, it'd be good if they wanted Mickey, Minnie, and gang because then we'd just go to the Character Connection at Epcot!

A052.jpg

We weren't there to meet Ariel. And we weren't there to fly on Dumbo.

IMG_2637.jpg

We weren't going to stop at the Seven Dwarfs' Mine although we did stop by later.

IMG_2639.jpg

It wasn't Mickey's PhilharMagic even though it was definitely going to be a must for the day.

IMG_2642.jpg

I love this picture. I know there are people in it, but this just captures a lot of that Disney feeling for me! All the different building facades and then the carousel with the castle in the background? I love it!

IMG_2645.jpg

We were getting close to our destination. Anyone want to guess?

Wednesday, April 7: Seeing Powder Lily

This is the ride we wanted to experience - Peter Pan's Flight! It's my mom's all-time favorite ride, which is funny, because I don't even know if she's watched the entire movie!

IMG_2649.jpg

While we were on line, I pointed out the jousting poles that "hold up" the tent for "it's a small world." I read about that in Hidden Magic, I think.

IMG_2650.jpg

We'd ride IASW later on. Since that's a constantly loading ride, the wait's never that bad. Or so we thought ...

IMG_2653.jpg

Weird took this pic of me. I don't remember why I was making this face, haha. I wasn't angry with him or anything. I don't even have a clue as to why I'm making that expression! Maybe he said I was pretty or something, and that's usually my reaction, haha.

IMG_2658.jpg

Weird loved taking pictures of everything. Did you know they had these things there? I sure didn't!

IMG_2661.jpg

More detailing that Weird was admiring while we were waiting on line.

IMG_2662.jpg

We got a glimpse of the galleon ships!

IMG_2663.jpg

I pointed out the stroller parking area that used to be the Skyway. I remember riding that and enjoying it. I think I'd be kind of scared of it now. However, I'd still ride it now if I could just to be able to admire the park! I distinctly remember riding it and really only seeing 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea because I was scared of it. I kept telling myself that it was just a sub on a track in this really small lagoon of water.

IMG_2667.jpg

Later on in the day, that was also the spot where I made an important phone call!

IMG_2669.jpg

Don't you love how they even put designs on their garbage cans?

IMG_2674.jpg

The little area that transports you from Fantasyland to Liberty Square. Both sides of that little building look different. Each side fits into the appropriate land. I didn't have a chance to examine the other side. I forgot!

IMG_2675.jpg

At that point, I was teasing Weird about how he was taking pictures of EVERYTHING. I mean, we're at our second ride according to my subject title, but we're not even anywhere near the ride! Haha. I said, "Look! Take a picture of this wall!" And so he did! Hehe, and you can tell that's before I got my lovely engagement ring!

IMG_2678.jpg

And even though I was teasing him, it didn't stop him from continuously taking more photos!

IMG_2680.jpg

There's that no dancing sign!

IMG_2682.jpg

And yet another light fixture. I know there is/was a light fixture thread somewhere on the boards. I think Weird could fit in there quite well!

IMG_2684.jpg

I was excited to almost be near the front!

A053.jpg

As we approached the actual ride, I saw and pointed out the Hidden Mickey on one of the trees. It's out there and very obvious if you're looking there, but it's interesting that most people would probably be looking at the loading of the ride.

IMG_2686.jpg

Almost there! We were very excited to ride Peter Pan because of the fact that there was the Peter Pan ride in Virtual Magic Kingdom. We would finally be riding the REAL ride and doing it TOGETHER. When we played VMK, we weren't dating. I used to think about how we'd have to get our separate families (as in my future husband and kids and then his future wife and kids) to go to WDW at the same time so we could experience WDW together. Who would've known that we'd actually end up being the SAME family!

A055.jpg

I liked this really happy CM.

A057.jpg

I was really happy to get a VERY clear picture of the boats! Weird took a bunch of them, but I actually secured a fairly clear one! And these were the yellow ones that we actually boarded!

A059.jpg

We joked about how people wouldn't be able to see us on this boat because we're "yellow" (we joke that we're yellow because we're Chinese) and we matched the sail!

A060.jpg

There go my mom and Matt!

A061.jpg

Saying goodbye to the crocodile at the beginning before we went off on our journey!

A062.jpg

Here we had a really fun CM experience. Well, it didn't quite happen with us, but since my mom and Matt were in front of us, we were able to witness it. I guess my brother was trying to bring down the bar, but it wasn't working despite his pulling on it. The CM that walks backwards on the moving sidewalk was saying, "That doesn't work. You need to sprinkle a little pixie dust on it." Then he mimicked it and put his hand OVER the bar (not on the bar) and it dropped down. How great is that? I love those little things because the CM didn't have to interact at all or even pretend to hold his hand out. He did the same to us even though he didn't actually say it. He just waved his hand over the bar. Magical touch!

The ride was absolutely amazing! We were able to see the cookies on the table that make a Hidden Mickey. I tried looking at the blocks on the floor, but it was too fast for me. I loved examining the streets of London and knowing that the moving "cars" were created by dots of glow-in-the-dark paint on bicycle chains being pulled. I also liked that I knew that the buildings were built using forced perspective. If you were eye level with it, you'd see that the tops of the buildings are actually larger than the bottom, but it's done that way to create distance.

What was hilarious was that this was the FIRST time that I saw that big huge skull in the mountain! I mean, the boat flies directly towards it! HAHA, but I must have never looked directly ahead of me. I was always waiting to see "Ariel" in the mermaid lagoon! The other funny thing that happened was that I could not for the life of me remember Tiger Lily's name! I kept saying, "Wait, what's her name? Don't tell me ... is it like ... Powder Lily?" Haha, I guess that's why I never got it right on the VMK quests that asked that question!

It was such a quick ride, but Weird and I definitely had so much fun with it. We were pointing out everything to each other, and I was really happy that I was able to experience it with him and see the excitement he had as well.

IMG_2697.jpg

(continued in next post)

(continued from previous post)

Here's the back of our ship as we got off and on to that moving walkway.

IMG_2698.jpg

And this is the one that I got of the front! We <3 you, yellow sailed galleon ship!

A063.jpg

The last photo for this ride and area is this one! I know that this had some significance, but I couldn't remember it. I had to look it up when I got home.

A064.jpg

Here are 3 explanations I got when I Googled it:

(1) What you may not realize is that the individual listed is a recognized leader of Reedy Creek Fire Department. Why is he honored here? Well it isn't so much an honor, but a signal to tell fire officials where to find the fire hydrant. Don't lift up the barrel, but take my word for it that beneath this crate is an unsightly plumbing fixture. Rather than expose an ugly hydrant to park guests, it's disguised as part of the theming for Fantasyland. And it's easy for fire officials to find it, because all they have to do is look for the name of the boss.

(2) When the original Peter Pan story was written in 1901, citizens privately contracted their own fire protection by hiring and paying a fire chief a monthly fee. If their house started on fire, that fire chief would be responsible for putting out the fire. People would put these barrels or other objects in front of their homes to show they had paid their fees. The Lost Boys chose Colburn (read it carefully) to be their fire chief on Neverland.

(3) Lou Mongello said, "The barrel is a tribute to Ray Colburn, Emergency Services Manager for WDW."

I don't know which one is 100% correct, but I'm going to listen to Lou Mongello because he's my buddy!

Wow! Awesome updates!

No, I don't dye my hair. I don't believe in that.

This made me smile, you might change your mind on that when you get old like me and gray hairs start popping up!

I absolutely adore Peter Pan's Flight, not sure what it is about it, but a WDW trip would not be complete for me if I didn't take a flight on those boats. My boys are at an age where Fantasyland is sooooo not cool, but neither one would even dream of saying no when I say it's time for Peter Pan!

Rachel, I saw the few projects you made on facebook and they are SOOOO cute! Just had to say that. I think I "liked" that photo album. :rotfl:

Sigh, what a great morning. Can we go back to it again? My dad and I had so much fun and then of course later in the day it was awesome meeting you guys!!

You're right about the store at the Pooh exit. I saw some pictures of the refurbed queue and the store is called Hundred Acre Goods. :)

You know I'm anxious for more...popcorn::

Haha, maybe I should rephrase that as I don't believe in dying my hair just to have it a different color than the color that God gave me! When I start getting whites, I know I'll think otherwise! Well, let's be honest ... when I start getting a LOT of whites! I've gotten maybe 3 white hairs since I started teaching. The first one literally came out at the beginning of my first year teaching!

I think Peter Pan is in a class all on its own! Very different than the other dark rides.

I'm having so much fun with my Cricut! I'm actually in my room on my netbook right now so that I can make my next project to post for Monday!

I can't believe that we met so long ago. I feel like it was just last month or so! Haha, it could be because I'm taking forever to do this trip report, but you can see that there are so many pics! That's what takes a long time.

I guess as a teacher, I should be glad that it's not "Pooh's Thotful Shop" anymore because I wouldn't want kids to think that's how it's spelled!

I'll hopefully get more up within this next week!

Wednesday, April 7: One of the Scariest Rides at WDW!

After we flew over Neverland, we were ready for our next ride! We eagerly walked to the next destination.

IMG_2699.jpg

It still wasn't PhilharMagic yet!

IMG_2704.jpg

Where to go? Haha, you can tell Weird just enjoys taking any and all pictures. Normally in TRs, people say, "And then we went to ride ..."

IMG_2708.jpg

I think you can tell where we are now! Our next stop was one of the scariest rides at WDW: Snow White's Scary Adventures!

IMG_2709.jpg

Look at that guy's really cool CM costume! Haha. Only in WDW is it okay for a guy to be wearing that stuff proudly out in the open, in my opinion.

A065.jpg

I was especially eager to ride this because I gave my students an essay assignment called "Misunderstood Antagonist" where they had to retell a famous fairy tale or Disney story from the antagonist's point of view. They had to use first person narration and explain why the known "bad guy" did what he/she did. I like to model writing as often as possible, so I wrote my own version using the Evil Queen from Snow White! Seeing her there wasn't as scary here because I knew her real story, haha.

A066.jpg

We got closer to the front as there really wasn't much of a line for this ride. Make a wish! Haha, or sing into that well for the echo effect. I also like seeing the track. I mean, doesn't it seem like the ride track should be more complicated than that?

A067.jpg

Another group was loading into one of the mine carts. I really like ride vehicles so much!!!

IMG_2713.jpg

Look! Hidden Mickey alert on those boxers on the laundry line!

IMG_2715.jpg

Here's our vehicle ... it's Dopey!

A068.jpg

Isn't it great how they even added this woodland creatures on the inside of the cart? It's not necessary because everyone's looking outside the vehicle, but it's a great added touch!

A069.jpg

On our way!

A070.jpg

Well, the reason why I called this the scariest ride ever is because I actually was startled on it! I've been on this ride before, but I guess I didn't remember or I guess in the past, I never really cared. It also might've been because in the past, I usually sit in the 2nd row so Matt could sit in the front or on the left because Matt goes in first. Well, this time, you can see that I was front right. That meant that when the Evil Queen turned around and was suddenly the old hag, I jumped! I think I might have yelped a bit too! Haha, I think I'm going to make sure I don't sit there in February even though I'll be expecting it! The rest of the ride was also fairly scary. I think it's because Weird and I actually watched the movie last year and knew it. When Snow White is lost in the woods, it gets kind of frightening! I don't think I would've liked this as a little girl if I had seen/remembered the movie.

We finally neared the end of the ride, and we actually stopped. Thankfully, we stopped at a cheerful spot! Look, it's Dopey! He's happy that we're in his mine cart.

A071.jpg

I think that chipmunk looks kind of familiar ... don't you?

Because we were still, I was also able to get a picture of this without flash (we don't disobey those rules!). Looking at it now, it's a little scary. What if they came alive a la Kingdom Keepers?

Last picture is Weird's attempt to get the back of the ride vehicle. It's blurry, but you get the idea. Hopefully, we'll get more ride vehicle pics in February! I love 'em if you haven't heard!

Okie dokie, this is turning out to be an awesome day. Where should we go next?

Wednesday, April 7: Willie and Grumpy!

After our ride on Snow White, we headed on over to Sir Mickey's to check out some stuff. I wasn't so into the stuff there. I was interested in seeing Willie the Giant! But since we were there, it couldn't hurt to check out some stuff, right?

Blurry t-shirt anyone?

A073.jpg

Haha, big-headed character keychains! I think the Donald one is the cutest.

These little things can really get you to spend a LOT of money without even realizing it.

IMG_2728.jpg

This is blurry, but you can kind of see Mickey in there.

IMG_2729.jpg

Since this was around the time of the Alice in Wonderland movie release, it made sense to see a lot of those shirts around.

Weird and I initially thought these would be fantastic! But then we saw that they both had a lot of "BAM, it's MICKEY" on it. Haha, too bad it wasn't just a small Mickey!

A076.jpg

Weird and I aren't really into the t-shirts that have a huge image on it. I think it's because we look young enough as it is!

IMG_2731.jpg

Look at all the store detailing behind the register! That's crazy! You can also see the extra stuff that you could get if you buy a certain amount. On the left, there was a blue backpack and then there was the throw to the right of it. I was happy that I got my big duffel from Downtown Disney the day before! It was funny seeing a lot of people with that blue bag. They probably ended up needing something to use during the day!

All of Mickey's stuff?

IMG_2732.jpg

Look, there's Willie! I think this is really cute too because for that "Misunderstood Antagonist" essay I mentioned in the previous post, one of my students did Jack and the Beanstalk.

IMG_2724.jpg

Bye Mickey! We'll visit you some other time!

IMG_2734.jpg

After Sir Mickey's, we went to check out Seven Dwarfs' Mine because there was something I wanted to see. Weird took this picture of the sign, and I never noticed that the sign was held up by the pick axes, if that's what they're called! Love it! I wish I could live in that little area to the right of it too.

IMG_2735.jpg

This was also another picture that Weird took. We call each other "Mine" sometimes because we're possessive and mushy like that. He was going to spell out a sentence with this.

IMG_2738.jpg

I read that there were gems in the ceiling of the store! I thought that too was a great added touch!

A078.jpg

I also read that the keys to the vault were also next to the door just like it is in the movie! How cute is that? Weird and I thought it was hilarious that we could see inside the vault. Look at all that treasure!

IMG_2740.jpg

And then this shirt was definitely so me! "This is what grumpy looks like!" Haha.

IMG_2743.jpg

Oh, if I can't get that spot next to the store on the right, I'll go for the spot to the left! I mean, I already have my apartment in China at Epcot. I could have one in Fantasyland too!

Next stop ... another ride!

I loved the tour de Fantasyland land via pictures! I really felt like (wished is more like it!) that I was walking along with you guys!
It's no wonder the Unofficial Guide gives a warning to parents about SWSA-- I don't really remember riding it when I was younger, but I know it would have terrified me, too!

It'd be so fun to be able to share all of these things with other Disney fans! I'm glad Weird was there because my mom cares but not really that much, haha. Glad you can walk along with us via the TR though!

It's just extra scary because the ride vehicles are so close to the scenes! I was intent on watching that part because I knew there was a trick with the mirror (like there really isn't a mirror or something). I just didn't expect it to be like, "BAM, I'm an old hag now!" Haha.

Woah. So many updates! All great as always. I love the detail that you and Weird capture!

and as a side note, I'm so jealous of your upcoming trip!

DH was reading over my shoulder and he started laughing at your grumpy picture. So funny. Then he was like "oh they got married at Disney - right" I told he that you were engaged, but not married yet, and he looked at me really weird and said "that's Rachel the teacher right?" It was so cute - you are famous!

I totally agree about Snow White the movie. We watched it a few months back and it is kind of dark and scary. Bambi and Cinderella too. But I don't remember being scared by any of them as a child. I guess I was a much braver child than I am as an adult.

I love all your pictures of all the little details. I always want to look at them, but I get caught up in the "hey I'm at Disney World" and forget!
