Weird and Ninja’s Pre-Disneymoon [Completed!]

Sad thing about The Office … Michael Scott, er, I mean Steve Carrell is leaving the show! When Weird sent me the link to that article, I was devastated! And I agree, the BBC version is hard to understand. From that one episode I saw, the only things that I found funny were the things that were redone in the American version. Weird and I do think that Ricky Gervais is hilarious though, mainly due to Night at the Museum!

Wait, WHAT? Steve Carrell is leaving The Office? Oh nooooo :guilty: Did he recently announce this news? I'm so sad!

Jealous of the field trips! One of my dad's friends lives in Cali, and his kids used to go to Disneyland on trips all the time. They went so often that they actually got bored with it!!! That would never happen with me!
My sister grows bored with Disney too. She actually passed up a field trip right before school let out. I was shocked:scared1:, clearly she doesn't like Disney as much as her big sister.

Your fiancee's camera details are amazing. If I was more into photography I would definitely invest in a camera like that.

I don't watch The Office often but I'm also shocked to find out Steve Carell is leaving the show.

Wait, WHAT? Steve Carrell is leaving The Office? Oh nooooo :guilty: Did he recently announce this news? I'm so sad!

I KNOW!!! I was so upset! Weird sent me the link to an article maybe a month ago? Few weeks ago? What is the show going to be like without him? I wish he could've announced that he was leaving and then stayed on for another season. That way we'd really get to appreciate it more. Plus, I'm sure that they would've made sure to make the episodes all laugh out loud funny.

My sister grows bored with Disney too. She actually passed up a field trip right before school let out. I was shocked:scared1:, clearly she doesn't like Disney as much as her big sister.

We were going to do a field trip to our Six Flags this past year and the kids were so excited about that. I didn't want to go because that's just not my speed. I'd love to take them to Disney though! Well, field trips as a teacher are still stressful, so I wish I could've had the opportunity to go as a student!

Yeah, I think if I was willing to lug a huge camera around, I'd want one too! But that's why it works out right now. I have the smaller camera that I carry around everywhere I go. It's always in my bag with me. I wouldn't be able to do that with a DSLR.

The Office IS Steve Carell!

Monday, April 5: No More Bikini!

In my last update, we were finally up to the part when we were done waiting for Turtle Talk with Crush! We did one of the trivia games on the touch screens.

IMG_6534.jpg

Since the tanks were also cleared, I was also able to get a picture of this guy who was going to only have moment of relaxation before being stared at by the next group of people.

IMG_6535.jpg

We hung around back because I just wasn't in a mood to be squished with everyone else trying to get into the theater. Here was an instance that I remembered to look up though, so the wait wasn't a bother!

IMG_6536.jpg

The lights were so pretty! Slightly creepy though because they looked like jellyfish or something. Weird really liked them a lot.

IMG_6537.jpg

Well, because we took our time getting in, there were no seats left when we got in! My parents and Matt were able to sit in the last row, but there was just nothing left. As I scanned the crowd, I saw that there were a good amount of kids sitting on the benches instead of on the floor. I don't blame them for it because it could be frightening being away from parents or thinking that they'd have to participate. Trust me, I wouldn't have ever sat on the floor away from my parents either! And Matt was with us too. I just wish there were some way to determine when this might happen. Haha, I know it's not possible, but oh well.

My parents started freaking out a bit over the fact that I was standing. They knew it wouldn't be good for me, and my dad started saying that he didn't want to have to catch me or carry me when I fainted. Thanks, dad. Because it really helps to put that thought in my mind! I was fine though, and I knew I'd be fine because Weird and I had sat on the floor for a really long time, so being on my feet wasn't going to be a problem. Plus, I know the show's not that long. If it were, I would've just sat on the floor and waited it out.

Anyway, it didn't take that long for the show to start. Of course, considering this was months ago, I don't really remember much of it. I will say that I was very surprised that Crush wasn't wearing a bikini but instead said that he had found a Buzz Lightyear doll! It was cute for the kids and funny for the adults as he was told what it was and then he said something to the effect of, "Cool, I have a Buzz!" Haha, all the adults laughed at that point.

The questions the kids were asking weren't that interesting. They asked basic things like how old he was and all that. This show really depends on the questions the kids ask as well as the improviser making it funny even if the questions aren't that great. I was starting to feel that it was a waste of time and was disappointed that Weird didn't get to watch a good show (the first time my family and I saw it was so funny, we were cracking up incessantly!). Then a kid surprised us with a great question!

This boy, maybe 8 or so, asked, "Do you have a girlfriend?" I think that caught Crush by surprise, but then he recovered and said, "I don't think my wife would be too happy about that!" That was the BEST moment of the whole show and was definitely the redeeming moment. We left in a good mood because of that.

When we left the show, I headed to the place where you can take a picture in Bruce's mouth. Unfortunately, there was a long line ... well, I should say a huge group of kids back there with some parents as well. I don't get some parents who kind of push their kids to the front. Shouldn't it be automatic to wait in some sort of line? Shouldn't you tell your children to pose for the picture and then leave so that other kids can get their chance too? I know that if I were a kid back there, I would never push in front of anyone. I'd be too shy, and that would mean everyone would get in front of me, and I'd never get my turn. Anyway, I saw that and decided it's just not worth the hassle.

Instead, we got a picture by this guy! Is his name Chum? I don't even know, and I'm too lazy to Google it at this point. I like the little fish to the left of the shark!

IMG_1334-1.jpg

Of course, you can't leave The Seas pavilion without seeing the stuff they have on sale at the small gift shop there! We always look at the squished coins, but they only had quarters. I don't think it's worth $1.25; I'd rather save all those quarters and get something better ... like a Dole Whip Float! Or a mug that says "MINE MINE MINE" on it!

IMG_1336.jpg

I was interested in all the Mickeys in different costumes. I didn't actually want to buy one since I had Mascot Mickey (dressed for anything, haha), but it was fun to see all the different ways Mickey was ready for adventure ... like scuba diving!

IMG_6538.jpg

I always liked these picture holders probably because years ago when we were vacationing in Bahamas or something, we went to one of the markets that had these cute picture holders like this. I bought them for my cousins and didn't buy one for myself! I think ever since then I like the idea of having the clips that come out to hold a few pics instead of having a typical frame that holds only one pic. This one was a bit clunky, but I took a pic of it anyway.

IMG_6539.jpg

One thing that I had planned on buying was a Kooky pen. I looked at them for the longest time and I saw so many of my students have them. Every one of my girls in the 8th grade had a princess of some sort (I think one of the girls bought it for them). I wanted one too! (Too bad they don't make a Mulan one because every 8th grade girl who graduated as well as 3 teachers, myself included, is a Disney princess. They used it in the slideshow during graduation and in the yearbook; I'm Mulan of course!)

IMG_6540.jpg

I told myself I'd wait until Disney to buy one because I'd get to see a lot of them at once. I thought the Nemo one was cute, but I didn't get it. In fact, I didn't get any of them! Haha. I couldn't justify the cost of the pen unless I knew it'd last forever! If they had some sort of sale or a "buy one get one" sort of deal, I probably would have.

Here's another pic of keychains that Weird took.

IMG_1337.jpg

And one more. Too bad I wasn't in need of a new keychain. I've been using the one I have since high school. I know that when I actually need a keychain, I'll be miles away from Disney! I think it's "important" to have a little bit of Disney in your everyday life like a keychain. Sometimes that makes you happy every time you look at it or use it. Why not have some Disney magic at home?

IMG_1338.jpg

The last picture that was taken in that area was of me and Pearl! I love, "Awww! You guys made me ink!"

IMG_1339.jpg

Oh wait, it was a really a picture of Pearl, me, and a lost Epcot map. Look at it weasling its way into our picture. It bugs me so much that I can't write anymore. OR I'm exhausted from work today, and it's only Monday! Gotta finish this episode of 24 before I go take a short nap!

Great update!! Aww, I love Pearl, too! GREAT movie!
Glad that one kid's question livened things up-- I feel bad for the improv guys. They must get the same "how old are you," etc. every session!!

Those lights are cool. I thought more fireworks rather than jellyfish, but jellyfish makes way more sense! I totally didn't see them. Now I've got to go back to Crush :rotfl:

You know you can have the "real" scuba mickey come to your wedding if you get married at WDW :rolleyes1 Not that I'm biased or anything :cutie:

I love all the mine mine mine stuff. I have to control myself!

I like the picture with you and pearl - she's one of my favorites!

I love Turtle Talk with Crush! I went there for the first time during the DLR trip! It was was just great! I would do it again!!

In response to your comment:

I love that pic of you and Pearl, even though that darn map snuck it! That's how I feel when I get an order of french fries at a restaurant and I find a stowaway onion ring hidden at the bottom! :lmao:

I love those light fixtures going into Turtle Talk too, they are so cool! Sorry you didn't have a great show, I agree if you don't have kids with fun questions the show isn't going to be as good. I was worried when you said you were hanging back for so long that you weren't going to get a seat, I've seen people standing in there almost everytime we've gone.....

Wow, those lights sure are interesting. I've never noticed those before!

Glad the show ended up being OK. The two times we've seen it it's been pretty amusing. I think I remember a line about having a buzz too.

Fun update! I love the "Mine! Mine! Mine!" mug! If I had seen that in the store, I'm pretty sure I would have ended up taking that home with me. Too cute. I love looking in all of the Disney stores. In fact, I took my little girl to the local Disney store today. Our local movie theater was showing "Polar Express" for free for families and I think it freaked her out a bit. I forgot that I fast forward through some of the scary parts at home. So to make her feel better, we went shopping! :rotfl:

I think the Crush show is so cute. I still laugh at the jokes, even when I have heard them before. It's just so funny to me.

Oh, and if I can figure out a way to show you a pic of my gold cheongsam from my wedding without hijacking your thread, I will. Can you post pics in a PM, I wonder?

Great update! We LOVED Turtle Talk! I have a few friends who would be perfect at coming up with hilarious things to say--I'd be way too slow for that! And I like your giftshop pics--we didn't really stop at many giftshops. Oh--and those lights are awesome!! I love how Disney themes everything sooooo perfectly.

It was so much fun reading all your comments, and I’m so glad that you’re caught up! Now I have to get moving with my updating! Work just takes over sometimes, and I still have the desire to write here, but I never have the time (hehe, especially since I’ve been spending the free time I do have looking for wedding dresses and such!).

It’s funny that I’m replying to this now because I JUST watched episode 1 of season 1 of 24 yesterday! I’m in the middle of episode 2 right now. Weird got a free month to Netflix, and we both really love it (it’ll be our $9 splurge every month when we’re married too!), so I’m watching it through that. It’s definitely something I know I’ll enjoy; I just never had the time to devote to it. Plus, I knew a few people who said it was easier to watch it once the season was over because then there’d be no waiting for the next episode!

We love LOST! He loves it now more than I do. I was more of a follower for the first 3-4 seasons, but then I missed a few episodes in one of the later seasons and never had a chance to catch up through ABC or Hulu. By the time I got back to it at that point, the episodes were gone. I’m glad I have access to them now. I’m dying to know what happened in the final season!

I wrote a MILLION comments...I just realized that! :upsidedow I just had so much to catch up on! Isn't 24 so addicting?! I'm really sad that it's over forever. Season 7 is by far our favorite! I liked being able to marathon them instead of having to wait for each week (like I did for Season 8). Hehe--we're going to try Netflix to watch Season 6 of LOST because it's not online anymore. We were really liking LOST a lot (and we still do...) but it's just gotten more and more weird. We are about half-way through Season 4. I don't know how I feel about all of the flash-forwards. But we still really, really like it and watch it as much as possible. We're going to try The Event this fall! We're not TV people, but we like 1 or 2 shows that we can watch online every week (we're always gone at night or we don't get the right channel). The Event (I think it's NBC) looks REALLY good! And it's just piloting this fall. I know--I have a feeling they'll cancel The Office when Steve Carrell quits. It just wouldn't be the same without Michael Scott. But I think they're running out of plots anyway. We didn't really like Season 5 at all, but season 6 got better again.

hehe--I sound like such a TV Freak (as my dad would say), but those are honestly the only 3 shows we've watched since before we were married.

I felt “cool” that I had the DIS ID on, haha, like I belonged to this “secret” group of Disney fanatics. I was hoping someone would see it and go, “Huh, Disboards? RachelNinja?” I spent a lot of time on my own scouring the backs of people’s bags in search for a hint of that alien green!

My bag (that still makes me say “I love my bag!” when I use it even now) is a Lesportsac Madison bag in Paprika print. I bought it on Zappos because it was the only site that was still selling the print! I spent a good chunk of change on it, but I had received a money order gift from my homeroom class for Christmas and figured I’d spend it on myself instead of just sticking it in the bank. It was definitely something I debated for a while, but I’m glad I did it! I can’t imagine using a backpack at WDW anymore. It gets to be so annoying trying to get things out or having to stow it during rides. I could just keep it on at all times, even in the bathroom! What I love most about it is that the material can’t really get dirty. If it does, I can just wipe it down, so it’s perfect for vacation!

I agree that we’d get along well! That’s why I loved your TR so much because you two were able to get goofy yourselves! It helps not to take life so seriously all the time! Plus, we have fun in our own way, and as long as it makes us happy, we’re good! For example, sometimes we match colors on Sundays when we go to church, especially when we’re on the worship team (he leads, I sing with him). People point it out and a few of them think it’s silly, but it’s just a simple thing that makes us happy!

YAY for seeing Beauty and the Beast! I don’t know if I wrote it here, but I saw it on Broadway twice. The first time was a treat from my aunt. She got tickets from work and invited me to go. The second time was with my mom. Even though we had seen it already, she HAD to see it because Donny Osmond was playing Gaston, haha.

I thought that I’d be getting a lot of reading done this summer especially since I bought a nook. However, this job came out of nowhere (which I’m grateful for!), so I haven’t had as much down time. It’s better this way though because the extra cash is necessary and it’s not TOO stressful of a teaching job. I still have my Fridays off to relax.

We’ll definitely be back to Cracker Barrel, but we’ll know to order the fish. We really enjoyed it! The fried catfish was so yummy! Once in a while my mom asks how far away the closest one actually is because she thinks about it too!

It's funny bc I didn't put my LGMH on my bag and I ended up running into some DIS friends...I guess it just all has to do with being in the right place at the right time!

I'll have to look at those bags--I really, really like yours! I loved my hipster for lots of the same reasons. It's my perfect WDW (or 6 flags, or vacation) bag! I would love to have the wipable material that yours has though!

It's been fun to watch yall get goofy with your pictures and things. That's fun about the matching clothes! Michael and I don't like matching (even on accident), but it's fun when we see people that do like it! We love just being goofy.

Beauty and the Beast was great! That's so awesome that you were able to see it twice--on Broadway!!! :goodvibes

I'm glad the job came along--even if you don't get to read much! One of my goals for this year was to read 15 books (since I used to read all the time), and I've already done that. It feels SO good to be reading again--and I turned Michael to "the dark side" and he actually enjoys reading now too! I've been reading The Chronicles of Narnia out loud on car trips, and it makes them go by SO much faster (we've read some Dekker books out loud too, and those are fun!).
Haha, love that you caught up and added long comments!

I so belong in the south! Give me a waffle maker and biscuit and gravy, and I’ll be a happy (haha, and slightly heavier) girl! All those carbs, yum! Ever since then, I’ve been mentioning biscuits and gravy. I don’t know where I can possible get it here. Maybe I should find a recipe to try or something, but I’m sure it won’t be the same. I don’t know that many people eat biscuits here unless it’s part of a breakfast sandwich from a fast food restaurant (ex. McD’s). Haha, that’s weird … I’m trying to think of when I come across biscuits, and I don’t think I do!

I guess to save space, we don’t really have separate cookie cutter houses. There are a lot of townhouses and complexes, so it’ll be an entire strip of houses stuck together. My neighborhood has similar houses, but each one can be slightly different (ex. some have garages while others made it into an extra room, some have balconies and some don’t, some are 2 family while some are one).

Those 2 years apart were good and bad at the same time. We liked each other again at different points of the 2 years. When I started liking him again, he was interested in another girl and somewhat pursuing her. Then the reverse happened. It gave us more time to be apart, and it also gave us a glimpse of what it would be like with someone else. Though we never officially dated those people, we did hang out with them, so we were able to somewhat see who else was out there.

The engagement ring we picked in that update actually isn’t the e-ring I have! We went back to change it to a smaller diamond with much better clarity. It sparkles so much more than the first one! I’m really happy about it, and I’m so glad we went back! They were so nice about it too; they understood why we wanted to change it. I’m sure they’ve had people do it before, but we were nervous! But thankfully, we’ve had nothing but excellent service at Helzberg!

Yeah, it’s so funny that we get those commercials on TV and there’s nothing near us! Part of me is intrigued, and I’d like to try it. But then I think I’d much rather try Souplantation or Sweet Tomatoes. I think I’d love all those soups and salads!

That is SOO foreign to me...I can't imagine every single restaurant not offering biscuits and gravy for breakfast. You can even get them at McD's here! My grandma says it's super easy to make, but I've never tried since I don't like it...

I can definitely see how cookie cutter neighborhoods would take up lots of space. You'd probably be shocked if I told you that my parents used to live on an acre of land--in the middle of town! OK has TONS of space...but the cookie cutter neighborhoods still usually have small yards. Ours is about 1/2 an acre and we love it!

Aren't you glad you got back together?! :lovestruc

I'm glad everything worked out with switching the ring--and that you've had such great service.

I could really go for some Olive Garden right now!!! :goodvibes

The pastor who spoke at our retreat last year was there again this year to run some workshops and just spend time with our church. He commented that there must be something special about that place and about the church family if Weird proposed to me there. It definitely was the perfect proposal. Even though it wasn’t something that others would like (I’m sure they’ll think, church retreat? How romantic is that?), it was just right for the two of us!

It was perfect for the two of you--and that's all that matters!! I love how each engagement story and each ring and each wedding are so unique to that couple!

I think one day I’ll get to explore all of Epcot! Innoventions is never fully explored and neither is World Showcase. There’s just so much to do!

There’s still a tiny part of me that’s very sad about not having a Disneymoon because it was the idea in our minds for quite a while. I know wherever we go will be a lot of fun because we can actually take our time on our vacation away instead of rushing to get to each park in the morning. It’ll be better this way, I’m sure. Haha, I just always wanted to wear the bride ears and the “Just Married” pin!

Mmmm, fresh strawberries are so good! I remember going strawberry picking one time when I was a kid. My Keds got all red from it!

I like that people know what I’m talking about when I say “Barbara Manatee”! I wasn’t sure that anyone would!

I know--we could easily spend two full days at Epcot! We just love it--but I love it more than he does...

Maybe you'll find a super awesome deal and still be able to go! Or maybe you could rent points (so cheap!) and stay at a DVC resort for a Sunday through Thursday (WAYYYYYY cheaper than a weekend) and just have a little abbreviated honeymoon. It'd still be lots of time in the parks! And if you decide you want to look into it and want me to help, just let me know! I'd be more than happy to help you price it and try to figure out the deals and things. :goodvibes

Definitely! My brother works at a Christian bookstore, and they have almost all of the old Veggie Tales movies for $5! We're going to have him start picking up some for us.

Great update!! Aww, I love Pearl, too! GREAT movie!
Glad that one kid's question livened things up-- I feel bad for the improv guys. They must get the same "how old are you," etc. every session!!

Haha, I wonder if by now they have the answers to the repeated question pre-recorded! I know I could never do improv, but I'm sure those guys are waiting for something unpredictable!

Haha, I wonder if I'd be scared of a character coming to my wedding if we were to get married in Disney! I'm still slightly scared of them!

I love Turtle Talk with Crush! I went there for the first time during the DLR trip! It was was just great! I would do it again!!

Next time, I think I'll have to make sure I get into the theater a little faster so I can enjoy it sitting down!

In response to your comment:

That is a great way of looking at waiting in line at Disney! :goodvibes From now on I am going to say to myself, "I could be in line at the DMV!" :rotfl:

Yes, you definitely need to check out TS3! It was such a wonderful movie, and it was so heartwarming. There is one scene (I don't want to ruin it for you so I won't describe it) that is so touching that I cry just thinking about it. It's another Disney masterpiece!

I FINALLY found some comfortable shoes that are cute too! I got them at JCPennys. The brand is called Strictly Comfort. They were on sale for $40 (usually $70) and they have all kinds of comfy memory foam padding in them. I love them! :lovestruc

In response to your post:

That is so cute that the little boy asked Crush if he had a girlfriend! I'm glad something happened to make the show memorable for you!

I love anything with the 'Mine! Mine! Mine!' seagulls on it! That mug is so cute. I love listening to them when I am getting in line for The Seas With Nemo and Friends!

I like what you said about having a little bit of Disney in your everyday life, like a Disney keychain. I think you're right, that is important. Doing little things like wearing my Disney PJs always cheers me up and helps me find my "happy place". :goodvibes

I love that pic of you and Pearl, even though that darn map snuck it! That's how I feel when I get an order of french fries at a restaurant and I find a stowaway onion ring hidden at the bottom! :lmao:

Can you believe we STILL haven't seen TS3? We tried at least 3 times. Well, I shouldn't say tried. We had it planned for 3 separate days, but when the day came, we were just too tired! Haha, or I was too tired and was afraid I'd fall asleep. I just really wish there were subtitles!

I think it'd be cute to get the "Mine" mug because Weird and I are possessive of each other and we say "You're mine" to each other all the time!

Haha, the french fries and onion ring thing was funny! I've found that when I order pasta at Olive Garden, there's always a different kind of pasta in there! Like if it's fettucine, there'll be one linguine in there as well. I've found it EVERY single time!

Great update! I just love all of the shopping pictures at the end! I can't wait to go back to Disney and spend my money.

Ooo, be prepared for even more shopping pics! I took pics of a ton of things at DTD, particularly bags!

I think it'd be fun if Crush interacted more with the adults if the kids aren't that into asking the questions. Haha, I'd like for Crush to reply to an age question by saying something like, "Didn't you watch the movie?"

I think the last time we saw Crush, it was a much smaller theater. I had never been in that bigger theater before, so I never had the chance to notice whether or not people were standing. I've only see the show once before!

I only just noticed those Kooky pens on my last trip. When I saw them I knew I wanted an Ariel one and it immediately became a search to find one. I swear I saw every other one besides her and finally found her in the Emporium on Main Street on our last day!

I know what you mean about Bruce. They almost need a CM there to direct traffic!

Yay for finding your Ariel! I would definitely buy a Mulan one if they had it! No doubt about it, no thinking about it! The 8th grade girls who just graduated this year were each a different Disney princess. They also made me and 2 other middle school teachers Disney princesses. I was, of course, Mulan! They used it in the yearbook and in the graduation slide show!

I'd hate to be the CM working the Bruce traffic!

Wow, those lights sure are interesting. I've never noticed those before!

Glad the show ended up being OK. The two times we've seen it it's been pretty amusing. I think I remember a line about having a buzz too.

I think it'd be fun if Crush could throw in more jokes geared towards the adults that the little kids would miss! I love that about Pixar movies; it's not just for the kids!

I wish the mugs didn't cost so much! There was this mug with Peter Pan and the Darling children flying into the air. It was nice because it was done as silhouettes or something like that. I think it was $12 or so though! That's a lot for a mug!

Haha, retail therapy at such a young age!

Thanks for showing me your cheongsam pic via FB! I liked being able to see a traditional dress not look so traditional!

:goodvibes

It was perfect for the two of you--and that's all that matters!! I love how each engagement story and each ring and each wedding are so unique to that couple!

Haha, a million comments is fine by me because they're so much fun to read!

I finished season 1 of 24 and was like, WHOA! I just started season 2 when Weird came over (he only watched season 1), but I haven't continued only because I know if I do, I won't get anything done. Maybe after I finish this last week and a half of work, I can devote more time to Jack Bauer as I work on things for September!

I have to finish LOST too! I used to follow it religiously, but during season 5, I got really busy and when I finally went back to Hulu, the episodes I needed to see first were already gone. That means I still have 1.5 seasons left! Weird's waiting for me to watch that as well because he's waiting for my opinion of the final episode!

Haha, I don't think you sound like a TV freak. If that made you a freak, I'd be one too! I think having Netflix or TV on DVD or Hulu makes it a lot easier to keep up with shows. I think a TV freak would be someone who follows ALL the shows every single week! I used to be like that, but now with stuff online, it's a lot easier to just watch a bunch of episodes when you have the time. Love it! Although it was nice to want to see the episode when it was airing because it forced me to finish my homework by that time!

Your hipster really fits you. Haha, guess because I've seen it in your pics so often. If I see that print elsewhere, I'll immediately think of you!

Yeah, our aunt seemed to think it was funny when she was us wearing matching clothes. We don't get too matchy-matchy, but we just like being in the same color family. For one family dinner, Weird wore a light green dress shirt and I had on a patterned dress that was green and brown. My aunt pointed out that it was the same exact shade of green (we didn't know it beforehand). But she kept pointing it out and then told other people (who already knew that we liked doing that; it was the norm in their eyes!), and I admit I was bothered by it. I mean, if it makes us happy, does it matter? Haha, we wouldn't go so far as to plan that we both wear khakis and a button-down white collar shirt or something like that! That's a bit too much!

Ooo, 15 books already? That's great! Just in the summer, I read ... 2. Haha, and they were both teaching related ...

Seriously, why do I not live in the South? Biscuits and gravy at McD's? I'd love that along with some hash browns!

I like what you said about how the engagement story, ring, and wedding are so unique to the couple. As I was looking through the wedding dress thread on DIS, I thought, "Wow, I would never wear that" quite often. But the bride-to-be was in LOVE with the dress, and that really makes the dress and the bride so beautiful! There's really no such thing as one style fits all!

Thanks for the DVC email info! I haven't had a chance to look at it, but I definitely will! I already forwarded it to Weird. It made us happy that it might actually be possible for us to go! I'd definitely take you up on your offer to help us price it! We'd be such newbies!

Monday, April 5: Latent Dreamfinder Anger

I know, I know, I know ... I've left you guys in The Seas with Nemo & Friends for much too long! You've forgotten what the sunlight looks like! Sorry about that! My summer teaching job has just taken over my real life, not because it's more work than my regular teaching job during the school year but because I procrastinate and don't start working until later at night! Hehe, whoops. But hey, it's still my summer, right?

After spending some time in The Land and in The Seas, we were ready to move on to another pavilion. Where were we headed? Imagination!

As we walked out, I saw the huge sea of strollers! I wish I had taken a picture of it. How in the world are you supposed to find your stroller?!? I wouldn't be surprised if some of them reproduced while the families were inside the pavilion.

At least the strollers were lined up neatly though because we also walked out into a huge sea of people! Um, where did you all come from? The funniest thing is that as we weaved our way in and out of people, we bumped into a family that we know! The mom grew up with my mom in our church, so I know her somewhat as well. The family now lives in Michigan, I believe. My parents talked for a little while as I stood there in the sun, kind of itching to move on. Haha, their 2 sons were probably itching to get moving too! At least choose a shaded area to chat! Haha, that's just my opinion, of course.

When they finally finished talking, we walked towards Imagination. From far away, I saw this:

IMG_6541.jpg

Oh cool! There were people working on the landscape!

IMG_1342.jpg

As we approached, I was marveling at the structure of the building. I don't think I ever really cared much about it in the past. I probably "appreciate" it more now just because Weird has his degree in architecture, and he used to point out certain architectural things to me. Haha, how specific, aren't I? This is the pic I took:

IMG_6542.jpg

And this is the one Weird took! Haha, some of those people are now famous because they're in our TR twice!

IMG_1343.jpg

There was absolutely no line to see Figment. I know are a lot of people who are really disappointed with the new ride. I agree with them to some extent, but I wasn't THAT crazy about the original anyway. I think it's because I was slightly angry with Dreamfinder.

Way back when, Dreamfinder used to be a character that was available for meet and greet. He had a little Figment puppet with him. Well, we were waiting in line for Honey I Shrunk the Audience when we saw him, so my dad and I hopped out of the line so I could get a picture taken since we had nothing else to do (I was never into taking pics with characters; kind of scary!). Well, we took the pic and as I said thank you, Dreamfinder made Figment grab my cap to try to pull it off. What he didn't realize was that my ponytail was going through the back of the hat, so in doing so, he messed up my hair. My cap didn't even completely come off! I fake laughed and then walked away rather angrily! Haha. I know, it was a silly thing, but it was such a hassle to do my hair that it bothered me! Do it to boys, not girls!

Anyway, the sad thing about this whole encounter is that it was for nothing. The camera was put back in the backpack that my mom was holding. It was in the same section as the spray bottles or water bottles that then leaked onto the camera! We lost those pictures.

All that to say, yes, I agree that the original Figment ride was better, but it wasn't ever my favorite ride anyway. I was just happy that there was another ride in Epcot since those were the days of very few rides!

The queue was interesting though because it's so bright and colorful! Well, at least the first room is. My dad had a phone call at that time, so we kind of just stood around in that one room taking pictures for a bit as dad was talking outside.

There was this little dude that Weird was really excited to see. Weeble? Wobble? Haha, I don't remember.

IMG_1344.jpg

A close-up of this ... Weeble ... or Wobble.

IMG_1346.jpg

I'll eagerly work at this reception desk as long as it's in Disney!

IMG_6543.jpg

Wait, there are too many phones! I don't like talking on phones at ALL. I was never the kind of girl that wanted to talk on the phone. I remember one time when my high school boyfriend called me, I had to kind of suck it up and deal with the fact that he wanted to have a conversation on the phone! Haha, so unnatural for me.

IMG_6545.jpg

Both of us also loved these chairs. They reminded me a bit of VMK for some reason. Can you tell which picture is mine and which is Weird's?

IMG_1345.jpg

IMG_6544.jpg

Haha, well neither of the pics is very good actually. One's not as clear and the other's lighting isn't that great.

We eventually got to move on and didn't have to wait for my dad any longer. However, I am going to make you wait for the next part of this update! It's getting later and I'd like to post replies to comments first before posting this! Hopefully it won't take a week and a half to write more!

Woo hoo, out of the Seas! I like Figment! We hopped in there our last trip after Honey, I Shrunk the Audience-- I think we would have thought anything was a step up from that awful, outdatd Kodak commercial!

Haha you forgot to mention that as your parents were talking to that family, you stood there and snapped pics of your feet and the floor! Those are such great pictures

That's so funny how we took the same pictures! I didn't realize you were such an architectural photographer ;)

I just looked it up, his name is Weebo! Close one with your guesses though.

I really love your updates. If I didn't have pictures to reference, I don't think I'd remember what was coming up next! You know what that means, right? We gotta go back!!

Haha, a million comments is fine by me because they're so much fun to read!

If you liked Season 1, just wait--they get so much better!!! 2, 4, 5, 7, and 8 are the best--7 is the absolute best! :thumbsup2 I know what you mean...we'd have to take breaks in-between each season bc we'd watch it like crazy people once we started one.

They have all of Season 5 of LOST on Hulu now...just not Season 6. We watched the first episode of 5 last night.

Yeah, having the episodes online is great! Did I tell you we're going to start a new show in the fall? It's called The Event. http://www.nbc.com/the-event/ It looks really good--and we'll be able to watch it from the start!

Thanks! I love my hipster. :goodvibes Hehe...I thought you were talking about matching shirts and pants and stuff. We do that with the color coordinating thing sometimes too. We always do it with our "Easter clothes". Our first year I had a purple dress and he had a green shirt with that color purple in some of the stripes. And this last year I had a flowery dress with some black in it, and he had a black shirt. It makes for good pictures!

Yep--I love seeing all of the different brides and grooms' tastes! It'll be fun to see what you and Howard choose!

I'd love to help yall price it out! Did I tell you that I want to look into doing travel agent stuff wherever we move? I just love helping people plan vacations! Let me know when yall have more info!

And your update was great! I love the Imagination pavilion too--the building is just so neat! That's cute that Weird has taught you how to appreciate buildings. I was always the same way about my ponytail--I would get so mad if someone messed it up! My dad would do it just to tick me off. :headache: That should be a tip in "Being a Character 101". hehe.

I haven't done Figment yet. In fact, I always look over the Imaginiation pavillion. However, Epcot really isn't my favorite, so I just like to hit the highlights and keep on going.

I love the little things that you guys keep taking pictures of and I like how we can compare your pic with Weird's pic. Very neat! :thumbsup2
